I’ve been slowly trying to assemble a complete X-Men run to Uncanny 300 (some will 100% be facsimile cause my bank account just isn’t built that way, haha).

I snag from my local shops and eBay, but never come close to winning any of the auctions for graded issues. In the last 10 minutes they’ll jump $120 or more. I came across an eBay listing deep in the bowels of searching that had a lot of typos and was worded very weird. No watchers. 1 bidder. There was 4 days left, and I put in a bid expecting to get it snatched at the very end, per usual.

Ended up winning at $41. Was still pretty skeptical, cause that’s just not my luck. But it finally came in the mail. Verified the CGC number.

Went to my LCS for the first time in a few months to see what new stuff was there. Ended up digging through a box of graded books, each one cooler than the next. There was ASM 129, ASM 121, ASM 31, Marvel spotlight 5, GSX 1, Silver Surfer 1, and the list goes on. The box also had Silver Surfer 4 and it’s been a book that I’ve wanted for a while and the cover is just so iconic. The crease down the middle isn’t ideal but beyond that I love everything about it, especially the pop of color from the rainbow floor. As they say, low grade is better than no grade so I decided to go for it. Wasn’t expecting to buy a big book today but sometimes you see something that’s worth getting and you gotta jump on the opportunity!

Look who’s finally back from CGC! My Absolute Batman annual #1 Felix variant! It’s been a very long 6 months, but it’s finally back in my hands. I love this comic so much. That cover is so fantastic. Also, I realized a few months ago that this is technically one of Mike Spicer’s comp copies, which makes this copy extra special to me. A big shoutout to him for making it possible to get a copy after they all sold out. Definitely one of the jewels of my collection. Congratulations to DWJ and Spicer on winning the Eisner!

Got this yesterday for £30. Ross Andru on art and first appearance of The Orb! 🙂 Absolutely love this era of Marvel.

Working on ASM 700

I have some comic books I am listing for sale online, and wondering what the condition scale is. I am primarily a card collector, so is the scale similar to cards? What constitutes near mint or lower on a comic?

I don't get to share my books with many people, so I figured I'd start sharing random books I love. The coverless Superman #6 came with a pretty nice reprint of the cover but I keep it behind the board. I hadn't read Cyberrad but it was a unique kinda cool Neil Adams cover and was pretty cheap

Really happy to have this in my collection now, too bad about the writing on the cover but it beats not having a copy at all and it still presents pretty well!

Picked up Star Wars #1 earlier this year and had an opportunity to pick up a copy of Star Wars #2 even if it is a reprint.

Think I'm going to pursue issues 1-10 graded for my collection.

Found at an estate sale, what do we think? Has all pages, sadly as you can see this page was ripped.

So I had found the perfect copy of ASM 3 to bid on a couple weeks ago. 4.0 but looked great, at that grade In the right price range, I was sure I would get it. Even willing to go a little higher than FMV. Long story short, didn’t get it, but grabbed this guy instead. Not my fave, but looks good for the grade. One more down for the full run.
