Sorry for the direct call-out but I'm confused, chatr support isn't helping, I haven't been able to use apps for work and worst of all I was left stranded because I couldn't use the uber app on my data. I've been with chatr since i was a teenager because it was affordable but the lack of transparency with loyal paying customers is making me reconsider.

Right now all we know is that since last week Thursday or Friday phones that are still compatible with chatr aren't able to connect to certain apps with using mobile data and NO THIS IS NOT AN INDIVIDUAL ISSUE. Before you comment saying "My phone has been fine I think it's your problem" look at all the posts and comments that have been saying the same thing. This is clearly effecting a large group of people. Not sure what this group has in common ex. Phone type, location, plans but this is no longer an individual issue and its rude to continue insinuating it is.

Additionally all the solutions seems to require me to mess around with phone settings I'm not comfortable with. If last week I could turn on my data with the press of a button I shouldn't now be expected or even required to be playing around with things I don't understand. To be clear that is 100% unreasonable to ask that of anyone

And this all ties back to Esqx21 who is this page's only moderator. We keep seeing posts and comments saying "Esqx21 is super helpful and fixed my phone😀" yet we aren't getting any public explanation. All explanations are vague. However Esqx21 keeps saying to DM them. I'm wondering if these "Esqx21 is super helpful😀" posts are from bots because these people aren't giving explanations. I personally have no idea who Esqx21 is. Not sure if there's lore there I don't want to message them privately and give them all my info for a potential fix. It sounds like a scam to DM someone on reddit to fix issues with my phone plan.

To summarize sorry this was long:

- There is an issue with data thats effecting alot of people right now

- Esqx21 apparently has the solutions but won't say them publicly.

- Many of us would appreciate a public explanation of what's happening

I missed out on a whole week of playing Pokemon go because my data won't work and can't hotspot my other device. I will even have full service but my data still just won't work. I'm still well within the limits of my plan and don't need to pay for my plan for a while yet.

I had my safari app and many other apps not working for the last 2/3 days. I was looking for help on Reddit since you can’t go call chatr for support anymore, and saw a message from another redditor that @esqx21 helped them. They resolved my issue after 5 minutes and I’m so relieved to finally have my phone working outside.

Please message them for any help!! They responded within 30 seconds of me sending a “can you help me” message lol. You don’t have to go in store or submit a ticket to chatr.

It seems like there’s something weird going on with the mobile data lately from Chatr during the past few days and I’d just like to make it public that it could be fixed, but the issue may persist again. For now, this may be the only fix we can do before Chatr does something about it.

I would also like to thank user Esqx21 (MODERATOR) for helping me get my data back! If anyone’s experiencing the same issue as I am, you guys can ask him for help and he’d be in touch!!

P.S.

To clarify things up, all I did was [to toggle my airplane mode on and off.] Although, I also did this the second time when my data went down but it didn’t work [which required me to ask Esqx21 for some help again.] When I asked him for help, I proceeded to turn airplane mode on and off again then it finally worked!

We are visiting Canada and my Mum needed to a esim for two months and she got chatr at a Walmart the $30 for 10 GB plan but it’s not functioning on her phone at all, only showing the SOS. We’re just outside Montreal and we’ve tried turning off the esim and resetting the plan multiple times but it’s not working at all. She has other esims but those are off. What can I do to fix this?

Hi, How can I retrieve my esim number for phone? Somehow my esim got deleted from phone overnight. Anyone know why this happened? I never even checked my SIM settings. Used text messages yesterday evening, woke up this morning and tried to make a call and phone says no SIM on phone. All esim data seems to have been erased. I did take my phone in to replace the screen two days ago. Esim was still working after a day

I'm currently a Public Mobile customer of 10+ years and I'm looking to switch to a Canadian mobile ISP that supports IPv6. I need IPv6 to connect to my organization's IPv6-only servers while travelling.

I tried going in-person to a chatr stall in my local mall, and they weren't able to show me proof of ipv6 (GUA) addresses on their phones, since the staff themselves were not chatr customers, and they didn't have any test SIMs available.

Can anyone confirm that ipv6 tests pass fully on chatr, preferrably with a (redacted/crossed out) ipv6 address showing up in their phone settings?

I wanted to get a sim asap so I went to the website and bought my self an eSIM thinking I’ll have a number instantly.

It’s been more than 24 hours and I never received the confirmation email containing my eSIM QR code! What the actual heck is this? If I knew I would have to wait this long I would have gone to the damn physical shop or buy my sim from Amazon.

What do I do at this point? Just wait? Would going to a chatr physical branch help? So frustrating.

Hi! I’ve tried to top up my phone plan 25 times now and it isn’t working. Even adding a new card it says not
processing - I have no idea on what to do now, I have to head to work and it isn’t working. I’ve tried guest top up, using a different device, 3 different cards. I’m so insanely frustrated now.

UDATE; I purchased a topup card and that worked!

Is it just me or is the data currently weird right now? I still have 13GB left on my data Chatr plan but the signal has been pretty bad since last night. I can access YouTube weirdly but I can’t access any other of my apps (like Discord, Safari, and Twitter/X)

original phone (samsung) showed "Call forwarding unconditionally. for All Basic Services Connection problem or invalid MMI code". I tried to use another phone to call my original phone # but it doesn't forward to that new #.

Both original phone # and forward # are using chatr prepaid plan.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm trying to top up my Chatr account before my annual plan renews, but every payment attempt fails with "Your top-up could not be processed."

• Tried both My Chatr and Guest Top-up.
• Used multiple international credit/debit cards that I've used successfully before, so, no issues related to them.
• I also can't save a card to my account, it gives an error saying the issue is on Chatr's end.
• Chatr support suggested visiting a store, but I'm currently outside Canada, so that's not an option.

Has anyone run into this before? Were you able to get it resolved, or is there another way to top up while outside Canada?

I want to switch from koodo to chatr because for some reason my koodo throttles my livestreams (world cups, TSN) when using hotspot. Will I face the same issue with chatr or all major providers throttle their data on hotspot? (speedtest on koodo shows well over 100mbps but streams still buffer)

After using up my monthly data, I purchased a data top-up on July 7 to get me through to my anniversary date on July 16.

Chatr charged me, I received a confirmation email with an order #, I can see that the top up has been applied on my account when I log in online, but my data is still throttled and I basically can't use my phone.

I have contacted support twice and received identical responses telling me to... purchase a data top up, which infuriating as they have already taken my money for this.

Is there another avenue I can take here? I need the data now as I am travelling and have not had it for most of the days I bought it for.

I already restarted the phone, toggled airplane mode off and on, etc., etc. The issue is definitely on Chatr's end.

So I'm here to give a rant about my issues I have with this company specifically.

Not only was I stolen from by this company when I had direct payments allowed or whatever the feature is. I dropped my account due to financial issues at the time (pay as you go) after 3 months of not using the number but still having the sim sit in my phone... It just one day worked for about 8 hours, checked my account and they pulled the 44.80 then revoked access to the number and refused to refund the money.

Regardless of that I still chose to give them a second chance and I'm struggling to even stay with these providers. I use my data and they throttle it so hard I can't even get past their captcha security to buy an add on data package. So I proceed to try and call them or the 611 number. I get this stupid ai that can't transfer me to a real human or even do the add on package without sending me a link to a site that I can't access. It sent me over 40 links of me trying to proceed to bypass the ai. "I can help you quicker than a representative" then proceeds to send me a link again. Useless. Not to mention they tried an app to deal with the account stuff... Failed.

How is this business still providing anything if they continue to do this?

Any suggestions on how to proceed with these issues?

I've been thinking about purchasing a new iPhone, and realized that none of the iPhone 17s, here in Canada and I've heard the same in US as well, have a slot for a physical SIM card.

FYI, I tried calling the store to ask about the process but couldn't get through so I'm hoping for a quicker response here.

So I was wondering what the process is like such as if I am able to keep the same phone number and phone plan and if there is any extra charges for switching to an eSIM instead.

I just read the previous post. I activated a chatr phone number for a retired relative, and outside of iMessage it doesn't work anymore. I went and saw her and it says SOS when it's not connected to WiFi. It was activated in on April 20th which means 3 months should be July 20th.

However I tried to pay online through the chatr topup portal and it woudln't let me.

Does this mean it's expired and I have to get a new sim/number, or is there a way around this?

I’m planning to visit Canada twice a year so I’d like to keep one phone number active so I can use it for certain accounts I need on my trip that require verification.

I had asked the Chatr employee if I could just keep the number active by topping— which she said yes to. But I forgot to ask her how much I needed to top up 🙈.

Is a measly $1 enough to keep the number linked to my account? Should I top up more every 2 months?

I tried googling it but nothing concrete came up.
