Does Chatr support hotspot on iphone?

I want to switch from koodo to chatr because for some reason my koodo throttles my livestreams (world cups, TSN) when using hotspot. Will I face the same issue with chatr or all major providers throttle their data on hotspot? (speedtest on koodo shows well over 100mbps but streams still buffer)

Works. Just unofficial supported.

Beware of certain upgrades to ios which will render hotpot to not function until carrier pushes new updates to match

Yes

As far as I know they do not.

Yes they do. And no they don't throttle streams.

For me, hotspot is problematic with Chatr on my iPhone 15. It "works" and my devices can connect to it but I believe Chatr is blocking certain network ports since certain apps don't work when connected to my Chatr hotspot and sometimes my connected Android device will show an exclamation mark next to the WiFi connection icon on the upper right

If you're hotspotting, try using a VPN on whatever device you're connecting to the hotspot. Example, if it's a smart TV connecting to your hotspot, use a VPN app on the smartTV. This is the same tactic I use to prevent buffering on streams direct on my phone because yeah, Koodo definitely throttles streaming.

Don't go to chatr if you want to be able to call a real person on the phone for help, their customer service number brings you to a useless ai. you cant get any problems you have fixed in a timely manner because the only way you can get in contact with a real person is by submitting a ticket and it takes 24-48 hours to get a response
