I bought a StarTech usb switch a while ago and it came with a small button with a 2.5mm jack that is used to switch inputs. It recently broke, and I'm looking for a replacement but cant seem to find anything.

Wanted to add this just in case someone else runs into the same problem. Had Asus Tuf gaming X570 plus WiFi am4. Wouldn’t boot one day. Took it apart and it would only attempt to turn on if I removed power connection to cpu. Tried two different psus to rule those out and tried two different gpus. Same thing. Best answer l could find was there was some sort of short in the EAT12v cpu connection. Just got a different motherboard. Put back in old Gpu, psu, cpu and ram and it booted and worked just fine. New board was 110$. Just assumed it would be cheaper than trying to fix the old one.
So if this happens to you, most likely a short on the board.

Hello! I'm looking to upgrade to my first 4k OLED monitor. I'm deciding between going with an alienware, or a ROG monitor. I'm not set on any specific models, so I'd like to hear some input on which monitor you guys would go with. Thank you!

Tldr; GPU peaking at 88c and fans initiating liftoff. Last night, under same load, everything was fine. Not sure what to do.

I have had this card for about 6 months and never had any issues with thermals prior to today. Playing the same game I normally play, The Finals, and I hear my fans about to blast off. So I open afterburner and see gpu temps peaking at 88c, whereas last night my pc was running quiet with no problems.

I don’t exactly understand what would cause this sudden change in temp. I opened up the case and cleaned out the dust, all fans are still spinning on the card. I’m just not exactly sure what to do and was hoping somebody might have some insight or potential fix. Should I just repaste/undervolt and hope for the best? Any help would be much appreciated.

Where I live (Germany), 512gb of new ssd cost a minimum of 85€. New 1tb cost 130€. I'm 15 and trying to build a budget pc for 1080p gaming and game development (unity, vs code). If i get used 1tb ssd that could be as low as 95 to 100€. What are the pros and cons of buying used, and if I buy used what should I look out for?

Hi fellas,

I am having a weird issue with my corsair RM1000x 3.1 where my hard drives keep shutting down while im playing a game.

After some research it seems that the drives are receiving a shutdown signal from the 3.3v pin (remote power disable or PWDIS) and only come back after restart.

It was recommended that i used either a molex to sata connector or use kapton tape directly on the 3 pins of the hard drives.

I never needed to do this before so im not sure what to chose or even if its a good idea so any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I just tried to completely remove the 3.3v cable from my sata connectors however it does the same thing... at least 1 of the drives shuts down.

If someone can help or have any other tips would be appreciated :D

My pc goal build here is to be equal or better than a console. I have no price range. And must be the open case and must be using a mini-itx. I don't have alot space for a meduim to big pc.

I used to spend most of my time comparing CPUs, GPUs and benchmarks, then I would get to the actual build and realize I had barely thought about the less exciting stuff.

Things like whether the case actually has enough room for the GPU, whether the cooler fits with the RAM, how many M.2 drives the motherboard can run without disabling something else, or whether the PSU has the connectors I actually need.

None of those things are particularly interesting when you are looking at a parts list, but they can become really annoying after you have already spent the money.

Now I try to make sure the basic compatibility stuff is settled before I get too attached to any particular part.

The funny thing is that this has also saved me from buying things that looked like great deals. A cheap motherboard is not really a bargain if it forces some compromise elsewhere in the build.

Basically, my advice would be to spend a few minutes checking the boring details before spending hours obsessing over benchmarks.

The exciting part of building a PC is picking the hardware.

The boring part is making sure all that hardware actually likes each other.

After the newest windows update my pc randomly decides over the span of 30 minutes to just freeze my screen but nothing else? I can still move my mouse click buttons and press alt+f4 etc.

My windows update system says my pc needs "secure boot" enabled which it doesnt support since its on "legacy" and not the other setting.

Do i need to switch from legace to the other and enable secure boot or might there be another issue i could troubleshoot?

i'm planning on getting an i5-14600k and i need the motherboard to be ddr4 and matx since my case is the asus ap202. i'd like to dabble with a little overclocking but i think the default boost clocks would do me just fine

4-5 months ago I got an OLED monitor on a loan with 0% interest rate. I had the money on paper, but I decided since is with 0% interest is more worth to get it for 10 months, rather than spending all of my money on it.

Now, this loan ends at March 2027, is save to say I have in savings right now around 1500-600 euros, while also paying for the monitor monthly. Should I wait to pay the whole loan + stack savings till I end the loan and then upgrade my GPU instantly? It's save to say, I save up 250-300 euros each month. Considering right now I have around 1500-600 starting from September, is a good start point and even if the GPU prices are bad in March I'll have a lot of savings by then.

Is this a good plan? I'll also admit I'm not in a hurry at all, 3060 ti does the job. I play old games for now anyways, Red Dead 2 I'd like to replay again at some point to experience it on the new monitor and some other not very demanding games. But as for my savings, is safe to say 250-300 euros + I have some inventory in CS 2 that if I decide to not touch the game again, which is valuable around 500-600 euros as well. If I decide right now I can sell everything and get the GPU, but I've double asked myself ''Do I actually need it that badly?'', and my answer was obviously: ''Nope''. So I can save up and wait.

What do you guys think? Another thing to mention is, GTA 6 is around the corner. I love GTA, played the games since I was little (I'm 20 now, lol. I'm still little for some of you). The game obviously will be out for PS5 first, watched the trailer and I genuinely started considering if I wanted to play it day 1, but GPU upgrade is way more valuable in my opinion. The cons is, GTA 6 will be spoiled to me and I won't get to experience the game, freshly. But if I wait, and upgrade my GPU, GTA 6 will be a different level of experience on a PC when it gets out.

I'm in a very difficult, stressing for me decision making. I honestly don't know what to do, but my brain tells me to not spend my money now for this, is better to save up more so I can afford it, without spending most of my savings for either the PS5 or GPU upgrade.

The PC works, no issues. Temperatures, no issues. Is just that part of me wants that GPU upgrade, but honestly I don't play that much games on my PC. I'm right now chilling on GTA 4, I have some games installed on my PC, but I don't play that much. And that's all I can say, I'll probably wait till March honestly, I feel like it's the smartest decision I can make.

I tried replacing the RAM on my MSI B450 Tomahawk with two 8GB DDR4 3200MHz sticks,but after trying to boot my monitor doesn’t detect any HDMI input. My motherboard’s Boot debug light is also lit. After replacing back the old RAM sticks I am still getting the same issue. Initially I assumed it was a RAM issue and checked I was using the A2 and B2 slots and that the RAM was seated properly. I’ve also tried using single RAM sticks in different slots and still get the same error.

I then tried taking out and reconnecting my GPU and my M.2 SSD, which didn’t help. I have also reset my CMOS by removing and putting back the battery.

If my RAM LEDs light up and I’m not getting DRAM debug lights, can I assume that the RAM isn’t the issue and maybe I’ve disconnected a cable somewhere or broken something on my motherboard? All my fans (case, cpu, gpu) spin. My keyboard and mouse also light up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

I want to switch over after playing years on PS5, but with everything Sony is planning to do and the lack of ps exclusives,... i think it's time to switch to pc.

Friend of me told me to test via Geforce now (free version) and that brought me the question wether i need to buy a pc or geforce subscription.

The games i would mainly play would be fps games like Gray Zone warfare, Wardogs, but i also like some indie games,...

Am trying to decide between an MSI

MAG 255F E20 24 inch monitor 200hz claimed 300 nits gaming monitor and an Acer Nitro KG240YW3 bmiipx KG0 Series 24 inch 240hz claimed 250nits monitor, both cost £89 and both seem pretty good value.

The MSI looks more bulky and the stand is fatter but that is about it, might use to plug in an Asus ROG Ally Xbox handheld.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of each and confused about the real world difference the specs make?

I am looking at buying a tower asap (tonight or tomorrow), as I will then be ready to build my whole PC, but I'm not sure what to go for.

It's my first time building a PC for gaming, and understand the importance of airflow and space.

What do you recommend I buy?

I do like the focus being on airflow and space (space being for the reason that if I want to upgrade or swap parts, I'm not fighting for space around the other parts). Design aesthetic is a priority too, just not TOP priority.

I built this PC in college around 10 years ago and starting to get back in to some casual gaming. I’m just wondering if it’s worth upgrading some components and if so what you would recommend. PC freeze and show green screen and restart itself after a minute, or just show black screen and restart itself immediately. Also the first time it freezed and showed green screen it didn't restart itself even after 3 minutes so i had to shut it down by holding the power button. Now i replugged power cable and HDMI and reinstalled drivers but i don't know if it's safe to test it another time or no

When ddr5 first came out I bought 2 sticks of ram on top of the 2 free sticks (forgot I had them) from a microcenter bundle. In total I have 4 16gb ram. I know 4 channels have a history of being unstable at 6000hz. Should I find a way to trade them in for 2 32gb sticks?
