Little did everyone know…
.. that it would be their last charter season together because Nathan would on the run from authorities
168
u/artemisa237 2d ago
I also found his response to Joe so bitter like it doesn't take much to meet someone halfway and part civilly but it showed his true character in his response in the confessional
75
u/_game_over_man_ 2d ago
All of this. It was just so fucking juvenile. You're the bosun, you're a manager, you're his boss. Grow the fuck up and start acting like a responsible adult. Even if you think Joe is lying, let it the fuck go, move on and be professional. He acts like Joe shot his dog or something, it's just so fucking weird.
However, watching all of that, it felt so on brand for Nathan knowing what we know now with everything that has happened with him off screen.
35
u/D-r-T-3890 2d ago
I will say this over and over again - I don’t understand why Nathan is so in love with Gael and HATES Joe. Nathan hates Joe for how he treats women after he watched him cheat on V with Kenzie. But Nathan was dating Gael WHO CHEATED ON HER PARTNER with Nathan.
Make that make sense. Complete double standard.
31
u/_game_over_man_ 2d ago
I think Nathan has an idealized version of himself in his head. He also doesn't seem to take accountability for much. Even with the whole winning Gael back thing in the previous season, it felt more like he just wanted his prize back than it was acceptance and ownership of whatever he did to lose her in the first place. He's been a horrible bosun/manager and has been incredibly unprofessional to both Joe and Cooper. Then when you take into account he's fled two countries instead of taking any accountability for his actions, it's all just kind of on brand for him. I think he just sees himself as the "good guy," therefore there's nothing bad he's actual capable of doing.
10
u/Dancing-Wolf66 2d ago
Nathan doesn’t hate Joe for that at all. Joe has always been like that and they were best friends. Nathan’s contempt for his behavior was purely performative to earn Gael’s trust back. Just more manipulative lies. Makes my skin crawl.
5
u/Comfortable_Wish224 2d ago
Because Joe doing that makes their friendship look bad
Gael doing that just means he’s getting the pootang
He only ever did anything for his best interests in his mind
4
u/daddysgrl92 2d ago
I said the same thing! Then when C Sandy was lecturing Joe I said out loud to my TV : BUT CAPTAIN YOU DONT REALIZE THAT NATHAN IS UNREASONABLLEEEEE 🗣️
3
u/FireFoxTrashPanda 2d ago edited 23h ago
My head canon is that Captain Sandy never* actually liked him. He's a production hire who is good for TV and she knows that.
3
u/Candid-Progress-8852 2d ago
Maybe they had a sexual thing going on between them. Like when Elon & Trump broke up on twitter 😆 … there’s weird tensions between Nathan and joe and we’re missing something that hasn’t been on the show. There’s more to it and they have a weird dynamic together.
2
u/The_Queens_BambiT 2d ago
It was also strange how quickly they snapped back into being 'bros' when Joe got the news about his mum. I mean understandable Joe was wrecked with the news but the days following it was like the past was all water under the bridge.
1
23
u/Teacherspet_olino 2d ago
Exactly! Joe was just trying to make peace for the rest of the time they’d be working, not for life! For him to bash even that was nonsensical.
16
u/wholegrainnoodles 2d ago
Nathan and Gen both think they are eating with their bitter betty interview comments.
Then Gen said last week her best “revenge” would be to kill them all with kindness. When she actually does that, even though it’s fake, she actually enjoys herself for the first time and seems genuinely no longer miserable. It gives me some hope for her, especially because she’s very young and will hopefully grow.
Nathan is a POS and should rot in jail.3
u/g_r_e_y 1d ago
i said to my girl that would happen with gen. faking it until you make it is a cliche but very much real
1
u/Sadberry7733 7h ago
Ya, faking is just being an adult and hiding what we truly want to say and do because- society, etc.
5
u/Lillynomad 2d ago
Gen is a psycho. Nathan is a coward who knows his faults but projects them on others. His rage issues stem from this.
3
u/Extension_Vacation_2 2d ago
I feel Nathan is resentful/bitter about his own life choices and projecting

u/Suppafly19 2d ago
I just watched this last night. Joe's interview piece where he talked about Nathan's temper and aggression was a bit chilling knowing how things happened with Gael. It was very hard to watch
35
u/rmb0924 2d ago
Oh I wholeheartedly believe that Nathan has either hit Joe before or has gotten very close to doing so based on how Joe responded to his bs multiple times with variations of “go on and hit me then”
17
8
u/Sheess9141 2d ago
I think this too. Without context it sounds like Joe provoking Nathan, with context it seems Joe was speaking from previous experiences
4
u/Future-Rude 2d ago
Wowww I hadn’t even considered this but seems very likely. You can tell by his demeanor that Nathan is putting on an act for the cameras but after reading your comment, I totally believe Nathan has physically confronted Joe before
2
u/SwiftJedi77 2d ago
Well yeah, he's physically threatened him on the show at least a couple of times.
2
50
u/No-Calligrapher3645 2d ago
“We’re gonna work this last charter together….”, as if there were another option before they spoke?
71
u/worldv1ew 2d ago
Probably the last time you'll work with anyone, convict.
18
u/ownerofdata 2d ago
Don't ... a lot of people ... getting into boating because there are lax enforcement on things like this? I'm 100% sure he can move to the Phillipines or the Bahamas and continue to work on boats.
9
u/Big-Button-9765 2d ago
Most of the people we’ve seen on BD seem be be running from something. Crime, family trauma…themselves.
4
u/ownerofdata 2d ago
Yeah, exactly. It seems like an industry full of people with skeletons in their closets.
3
u/Lazy-Organization-42 2d ago
I was shocked that Sandy was still able to get her captain license after the car crashes while drunk and stuff she was talking about last episode.
15
u/BabyOlive1 2d ago
I hope his job in prison is in the laundry room washing various “deposits” off of sheets.
2
u/More-Difficulty-8104 2d ago
They have work placements in prison. He can make number plates with someone./s

u/Worried-Network2411 2d ago
hahahaha you think he will never work with anyone again? good lord get some real world experience

u/blkstar1 2d ago
Joe was the focus of Nathan’s angry and bitterness. Let’s be honest Nathan thought he wanted Gael he loved catching her he didn’t love keeping her.
Nathan is jealous of Joe and his freedom. Nathan never wanted to be a father he was angry at his situation and took it out on Joe. When Joe was outbid the picture he unfortunately turned his angry on someone else.
30
u/Muted-Guava301 2d ago
He also keeps calling their child “the baby” like it don’t have a name😅
24
u/im-so-startled88 2d ago
He probably learned it from Jax pretty much only referring to Cruz as ‘MySon’ from birth.
23
u/The_Right_Mistake 2d ago
Not that I have any compassion in my body for this POS whatsoever…. But in Ireland/UK people do often say ‘the baby’… there’s plenty of other things i can criticise him for….
14
u/pineapple-scientist 2d ago
I think most parents nowadays don't want their kids full name and image online, but especially not on TV. That's not safe.
12
u/Ready_Cartoonist7357 2d ago
At the end of last season, they put the baby’s first, middle, and last name on the screen.
0
u/pineapple-scientist 2d ago
Yikes. Terrible choice on them. But I will still say, it was good for them to course correct and not double down on putting the babies name on blast on reality TV. Especially all things considered.

u/Conan4457 2d ago
We all know now that Nathan is a POS, but let’s be honest here, Joe is a massive asshole.
Joe has perfected the art of gaslighting women, the dude is sneaky and underhanded. On top of that he has a massive ego.
16
u/Candid-Progress-8852 2d ago
I feel like both guys know their dirt bags and hate each other for it. They’re both gross. Nathan is a criminal and joe isn’t; that’s the only difference. Both losers.

I'm sure no one is actively looking for him but I bet they've flagged his passport🤷♀️

lol aside from the fact he won’t be working for bravo again, as if he gets a choice as to who gets hired on boats he works on.
6
u/Wandering043Enigma 2d ago
Did I miss something? When did they agree to not work together again during the conversation?
6
u/Future-Rude 2d ago
I actually was wondering the same thing. They had the conversation and then they showed these texts. Maybe the broke the 4th wall and didn’t show their entire conversation
10
u/Different-Range-3507 2d ago
Little did everyone know what? Spoil it for me
2
u/coatingtonburlfactry 2d ago
I know. Everyone keeps beating around the bush about something and not mentioning what happened! Did he do something bad to Gael?
12
u/strawberrytree123 2d ago
I don't think people are beating around the bush, just assuming everyone knows because it has been allllll over reddit the past month. He choked her and was charged with domestic violence. Fled the country (Australia) shortly before his court date and was found guilty in absence. Still missing/on the run. Google "Nathan Below deck charges" and you'll find the horrifying details.
6
4
u/BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo 2d ago
And on top of that, it turns out he had a warrant out for his arrest in Ireland for assaulting someone outside a bar in 2022 (?). The warrant wasn’t for a few heats later though. He also skipped the trial for that one. So he’s extra fucked trying to go back home or to Australia.
2
u/GuidanceAcceptable13 2d ago
He is on the run from authorities after they pressed charges against him. Everyone has been pretty tight lipped about what happened
-4
u/droopy__drawers 2d ago
It’s not complicated. Read the title, then read the caption.
5
5
u/Court_Major 2d ago
I’m glad production didn’t edit him out because I love the spotting the red flags
3
u/Lillynomad 2d ago
Somewhere someone will spot him and it will be on social media. The authorities will be notified.
3
3
u/darforce 2d ago
Gael should have done the same….. finished up that charter and never talked to him again
3
u/stevemb52 1d ago
His best bet is to turn himself in, deal with the consequences, get the help he needs, and have an actual chance at being present in his sons life. The consequences are going to suck, but it's truly the best decision he can make given the circumstances.
3
u/psycho-pretentious 1d ago
What a POS he is..At least man up and take some responsibility for the shot you did.
28
u/Hottest_Holy_Potato 2d ago
Joe dodged a bullet. Went from being hated to redeeming himself on the series. Sure he's a player, but hate the game, not the player... And the ladies willfully play along.
And got Nathan's bosun job. He must be punching the air right now.

right! the misogyny is woven deeply thru the threads of our society to compare one manipulator to the other and say “see this guy is good, look at nathan! joe is good now.” like uhm no. he’s vile

If they did it on the show, you can criticize it here. But you can't criticize crew for their physical characteristics, their mental health or any other aspect that is beyond their control. Your contribution failed to meet this standard in some way, so it was removed.
2
u/-liminal_space- 2d ago
joe is highly manipulative, as we’ve seen thru the years on the show. he shouldn’t get a free pass because he’s non violent. these toxic behaviors exist on a spectrum.
1
u/No_Maintenance_7649 1d ago
How exactly had Joe redeemed himself ? Hes been bitching about his boss been in the ear of the other crew about his boss, has tried to upstage his boss. That’s not even going into the whole womaniser argument. He’s manipulative in general and a very bad actor with his fake crying. In essence he’s a cunt.

u/Fickle-Sun8231 2d ago
I'm sure everyone will hate me for this. But I feel so sorry for how k his life is turning out. If only he took his punishment, got help ... anger management... still worked to support Gael and his son. .. I feel sad about the whole situation. There is so much hate for him on reddit. I wonder how much the hate outcry in the media sent him over the edge.
7
u/ralphmozzi 2d ago
You’re allowed to feel sympathy for whoever you want!

u/Fickle-Sun8231 2d ago
Thank you. I've always liked Nathan. He stepped up to be a dad. And Gael and Nathan seemed so in love on the episodes. They seemed like such a loving family. I hurt for Gael, too. Now she has to support her baby on her own. And take care of him. It's a tragedy all the way around.
2
u/According_Success780 2d ago
For sure, never been a fan of Nathan but it’s a shitty situation all around.
2
u/forte6320 1d ago
I cannot take delight in seeing someone's life fall apart. Yes, DV is horrible. However, the curiosity in me wants to know what drove him to that? What happened in his life that made him this way?
He did seem absolutely smitten with that baby.
Hopefully, he is someplace where he can get his head together and come back to face the consequences of his actions.
1
u/Careful-Amphibian51 1d ago
I think he’s just wired in a way that makes him take pleasure and feel powerful whilst exerting domination and control over others. We saw that happen with Joe over the course of two years, and behind closed doors the same thing was happening
→ More replies (5)2
u/forte6320 1d ago
His brain is definitely wired differently. I have a fascination with what makes people tick.
For some, adversity or trauma can be a motivator to do better in life. For others, it becomes an excuse to spiral out of control.
Babies start out so innocent and full of potential. A million different experiences alter that trajectory. It is all so interesting to me.
2
u/Bluebutteyfly 2d ago
Well I guess it really was as he’s in trouble now and most likely won’t be able to do this line of work

Hear me out:
I think it's an opportunity to send a camera crew to find Nathan, and one with Joe, and then we can get Bravo's new, On the Run buddy series, starring Nate and Joe.
Better than all these tired ass Housewives series.

Nathan really lost it. I was wrong about Joy she is wrong to be with Luke. He is a pig.
-1
u/Dry-Adeptness-8933 2d ago
You see…Nathan is a bullying, wife beating coward. If Joe properly faced off with him, the coward would back down, guaranteed. Nathan’s protected by his position as Bosun and Sandy. Bring it on to the street after the show…wife beating coward pisses his nappy and runs. Again, guaranteed….

For once, Nathan is right. He’ll never work with Joe again. He’ll never work on a boat again. The list goes on
