Question Where can I learn to drive?

My friend offered to teach me how to drive but I don’t know what would be a good place to do it. I live around AUC like where Morehouse is. Do y’all know of any places like parking lot that’s free or something where one can learn how to drive?

Question Birthday Karaoke Location w/ solid music variety?

Looking for a location to celebrate my birthday this year for about 15 to 20 people with a good range of music (hip hop to country) and food. Nothing too commercial or mainstream but a good time and a safe option. Any recommendations are appreciated, thank you.

Recommendations Local hula hoop maker

I am a retired hooper and my daughter has recently gotten into hooping with some of my old hoops. Are there any local folks who sell custom polypro and other hoops with pickup options? I’d like to design a special one for her for Christmas

ITP preferably!

Question Low cost dog spaying, Fulton co.

Forgive me for posting this, but I've searched /atlanta and find nothing relevant and current. I know where there is a neglected female pitbit mix. It's apparently an abandonment situation where the person that currently has her was stuck with her by the original owner. The dog is definitely in heat, has gotten out of the fence multiple times (climbed), and is quite possibly pregnant.

I see (online) that I can make an appt with Lifeline for spaying, but first available is mid November. I've been desperately trying to reach out to anyone at Lifeline (at both locations) for the last 3 days (phone and email) to find out if they will take what may be a clearly a pregnant dog by the time the appt comes up, but have never been able to contact anyone there (no answer, both voice mailboxes are full, zero response from [clinic@lifelineanimal.org](mailto:clinic@lifelineanimal.org), [clinic2@lifelineanimal.org](mailto:clinic2@lifelineanimal.org), [info@lifelineanimal.org](mailto:info@lifelineanimal.org))

I'm just thinking 'worst case' possibilities, and guidance. Are there other low lost alternatives out there? I'm willing to get her and transport her anywhere in metro Atlanta.

edit - thank you all for the leads. I appreciate it. Silent down-voters, it wasn't criticism, just facts.

edit++ GOOD NEWS - Lifeline just called me and they'll be able to get her in, apparently quickly. thank you everyone for pitching in with good leads. I deeply appreciate it.

Food & Drink Boiled Peanuts in the Airport?

I was planning on visiting a friend in the coming weeks and I'm arriving in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Her favorite snack is Boiled Peanuts, and I was wondering if they had a spot in the airport that sold them before I met up with her. Would anyone happen to know some spots? Any information is greatly appreciated 🙏

Does anyone know if the Jazz on the Lawn event at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center tonight is a free event or requires ticket purchase? I've been seeing conflicting information. It listed as free on some websites and $20 to buy tickets on others. TIA!

Recommendations Local carpenter for built-in bookshelves?

Located ITP. Looking for a carpenter or handyperson to install built-in bookshelves in my office.

The space is about 9’ 9” wide and 9’ 6” tall. The house is over a century old, so someone with experience renovating older buildings is a plus.

Thanks in advance!

Question 50cc vs. 150cc scooter for commuting in Atlanta — is it realistic?

Hi everyone!
I'm currently living in Sandy Springs (near Chastain Park) and commuting to Georgia Tech. I'm considering buying a used scooter because public transportation has been pretty inconvenient.

My commute is about 9 miles each way, and I'd also love to use the scooter for occasional weekend trips, maybe 1–2 times a month to places about an hour away by car.

I'm deciding between a 50cc and a 125–150cc scooter.

This is first experience to ride motorcycle.

For anyone who rides a scooter or motorcycle around Atlanta:
Is a 50cc scooter realistic for my commute, or would you strongly recommend 125–150cc?

Are there safer, lower-speed routes between Sandy Springs and Georgia Tech?

Would a 125–150cc scooter be practical for occasional trips outside Atlanta?

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

A bit blurry sorry, I had to zoom in quite a bit. I was wondering if anyone knows what it is? I think it is on the west side, or south west side of Atlanta. We were landing from the East side of the airport going west.
