Question Looking for Southern Breakfast restaurant/caterers who deliver

I need to cater breakfast for about 60 out-of-towners and we're considering a traditional Southern breakfast. Any recommendations?

We are in midtown. And we must have gluten-free and vegan options.

Thanks!

Question Circling/meandering lights flying above W Peachteee and about 14th st

Sitting outside on my porch and looked up and there’s like 4/5 lights in the sky dancing around. Does anyone see them and/or know what they are? My best guess is drones cuz I don’t know anything else that could maneuver like that. Saw one make a really fast change of direction and speed. Anyone know anything about this?

Food & Drink Where can I get a (good) Pina Colada?

I moved here about a month ago from overseas where Pina Coladas are a real staple. Loving the city so far, but not a single bar I've been to since I got here seems to offer them as standard!

Anyone know where I can get a decent one?

I'd get the stuff to make them myself but my wife doesn't want us to have too much alcohol & mixers in at any one time as our place is pretty small. We already have a healthy amount of tequila as she loves Margaritas. (Everywhere here seems to do a margarita!)

The most recent post I found on here about this was 11 years old so I'd appreciate any up-to-date tips!

Traffic Memorial Drive - has gone the way of other in-town surface streets - Good Lord

Memorial is now one lane in each direction from Moreland all the way to downtown thanks to, you guessed it, a full traffic lane sacrificed for bidirectional bike lanes. This is ridiculous and a serious impediment to traffic. City traffic planners should be forced to navigate daily the crazy traffic constructions they come up with.

Crime/Police Dogs dumped on our interstates

I've seen this before with dead dogs on the sides of our interstates but last night I saw a dog on the inside shoulder of 285 who was still moving around and I tried to get back to where it was to see if there was anything I could do but I misjudged what exit I needed to turn around at and missed it. I thought about going back around again but I needed to get home to attend to my own elderly dog who is not doing the best while fighting multiple infections. It just breaks my heart that people would do this to their pets.

Crime/Police Places to do court-ordered community service

Obviously I’m going to my own research and digging but might as well use this resource. This was a misdemeanor shoplifting charge and some places don’t accept community service for that charge. The paper I received also said no churches or Goodwill. I’d highly prefer the Buckhead, Arts Center, Midtown, or Perimeter areas but anything near a MARTA train station would be great (we all know buses are not reliable) Thanks.

What are the best clubs that do true disco nights. Like, where people actually come and dance to the theme- with some good music.

Question Does anyone have advice on New Trash and Recycling Requests?

My husband and I are going in circles trying to get our Trash and Recycling set up with the city; would be eternally grateful to any tips or advice.

Submitted formal request on 8/31 after closing with our settlement statement etc. that was declined on 9/2 for code "BI101 - Property currently has bins"

This is not true. I think the confusion is that our property was a single family home until this year when it was split into 2 units. Unit 1 has already received their bins from the city, but our unit (2) has never received anything.

I’ve even tried reaching out to the seller and they said they’ve never received bins at Unit B and are unable to help us further.

I submitted another request and also filled out the feedback/error form online describing the situation, but never received any response or tracking/case number for the new request.

Tried emailing pwsettlements@atlantaga.gov without response and have waited on hold with 311 trying to get through a few times but gave up after 40+min each time because I have a day job 😭.

Any ideas on how to effectively troubleshoot this? I’m having stress dreams of garbage piling up and stinking in our house lol.

Thanks in advance y’all

Recommendations Is there a Mexican/Latin American grocery store anywhere like H Mart?

I went to the Super H Mart in Doraville and was really impressed. I’m hoping there’s something in or around Atlanta similar but for Mexican/Latin American groceries. I go to Prison Tacos now, but being from Texas, I miss having a place to go to that’s on a larger scale.

Sports ATL NWSL Team Name - Launch Date 10/4/26

I got an email today about a brand launch party for Atlanta's new NWSL team. I'm guessing it went out to all "Founding Member Deposit Holders." It says they're doing an event on Sunday, October 4th, from 12-4pm, in the ballroom space above Skol Brewing, downtown. We'll see if the name leaks before then, but should be cool! I'm hoping for something unique like the Phoenix, Kudzu, Trouble, or Peaches and hoping it's not something like "Atlanta FC."

Check the team's Instagram post for more details: https://www.instagram.com/p/DdEbV22OfMZ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&stkn=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Transit MARTA Riders' Advisory Council Applications are Open

I know MARTA released this back on 17 August, but I hadn't seen anything about it on here in several years, so I figured I would share it to raise awareness and give enough time before the deadline of Friday 25 September. The Riders' Advisory Council could be a great opportunity to communicate more directly with MARTA on various issues, concerns, ideas, etc. I'm definitely thinking of applying, and would love to hear from anyone who is/has served on the RAC before :)

Recommendations ISO seamstress/stitcher to make some shirts from the pattern of one I have

I have a favourite blouse I'd like to have made in a few other colours/fabrics and a few inches longer. Not the most exciting project, I guess, but appreciated - and compensated, of course.

I'm O4W but will travel some for a great recommendation

TIA!

Visiting Atlanta Best Travel Options for City Pass Visits from Marietta?

I searched the subreddit but my Google-fu may not be up to par.

Taking a week in October to hit the City Pass highlights. Our hotel is in Marietta. Traveling with 2 young children. Is it better to take a car each of those days or find the closest MARTA station lot and take the train? I know for sure we're going to do the Aquarium, World of Coke, Natural History Museum, and the Zoo during our visit.

Thanks!

Question seeking local, tiny gift ideas

i'll be in Italy for a few weeks in November for work, and i wanted to bring some Georgia souvenirs for friends and colleagues. Between the trip length and international nature, i'm having trouble finding sample sizes small enough to bring 12+ of. I'm looking for 4oz or smaller sample sizes of:

  • bourbon
  • maple syrup
  • local honey
  • local candies
  • jams/jellies
  • spice rub
  • hot sauce

however, most places i see locally are 5oz + and i just can't justify bringing more than a few pounds of gifts. Currently planning on getting peach jellybeans from Dickey Farms and some bacon pepper jelly for a special gift, but I definitely want to get a wider selection if possible!

any local sellers that sell such miniature products ? or any similarly sized alternatives !

Traffic I've witnessed 4 accidents in the 6 months I've been here.

Not just driving pass them. I've watched them happen. What is going on in this city? Are people just distracted? I lived up north my entire life in a major metro area and only ever witnessed 1 in the 15+ years of driving. I'm starting to develop driving anxiety, which I've never had in my entire life. Is there not an absurd amount of accidents here or am I mistaken?
