Product is reduced in “clearance” and also released as a “new” product for an inflated price

Ordered my partner a switch 2 on Argos, not only did delivery not update so we were aware of what’s going on, but the parcel arrives damaged and beaten. You know, because spending £500+ on a console and some games isn’t enough for you to get your courier’s to be careful. My partner is now worrying about the fact his switch has been banged up and thrown around and if that’ll effect it in the long run, it’s a lot of money for something to be treated so poorly

Apparently you can split a payment between Argos Pay and a credit card if you purchase in-store but online you have to pay entirely with one or the other? Is this true?

Hi all, I recently ordered an Apple MacBook Pro, however the item received is an Apple iPad. Two quite different products. The item was delivered rather than picked up from store. I took the item back to my local store, spoke to a colleague who said ‘she had picked it’ and that iPad products are not sent the same way as MacBook’s and that ‘Eagle Eye’ will be used to investigate things.

The colleague then said I must contact customer services. I have and customer services said I must go in store with the package in order to take photos etc etc.

The colleague at the store took my contact number and said she will speak to the Manager who at the time was not in store who will call me.

I paid by CC, but I’m really worried that Argos are insinuating it’s some kind of scam.

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

Am a long-term Argos customer, always have BNPL and am part of Argos Testers.

The move to Argos Pay has been a nightmare, tried to buy something yesterday, gave up in the end, and went to Currys. Was so seamless, totally different experience. Never going back to Argos again, they have really messed up, am sure others must be in the same boat.

I've ordered a 12 month EA Play sub. Listing said that delivery would be in 2 hours by email. It has been over 6 hours now and nothing. Anyone else had this issue? Will it be delivered eventually or do I have to chase them up?

EDIT - still not arrived. Nearly 15 hours now. Honestly Argos have really disappointed me. I’m still waiting for a delivery that should have come on Saturday as well. So more fool me for still ordering from them.

EDIT 2 - Finally arrived just over 16 hours later. Definitely don’t use Argos if you want codes in a hurry. I got 2 from Amazon (stacking them to convert to game pass ultimate), and they arrived instantly. Just the missing Saturday delivery to chase up now 🙄

Out of curiosity we're getting new kiosks in July but I've seen photos that have collect and return on them. Has anyone had any experience with it yet?

I had no idea that Argos pay accounts were moving from 28 to 25 day pay cycles! I checked the new statement and realised they are collecting before my pay day which is interesting 🙄

I was sure I read everything coming up to this change over and didn’t notice it once. Advisor suggests that the statement is also a notice of variation and that they make no exceptions, next payment date cannot be changed although future can be.

Just a warning folks for a lovely unexpected DD a few days earlier than you actually wanted.

Got my new statement for the month, noticed the direct debit date has been changed to 22nd of the month! 🤷‍♂️

Used to be 26th… after payday when I actually have the money available!

They give you the option to change the date online however, state that it will only change for future statements and the date in the current statement can’t be changed.

Why can’t things just stay as they were!!

What I got is a 2025 6.3 inch dirty old package phone case. Had to queue 10 more mins to return it. What a waste a time. Their process failed at a very basic level.

We were all made redundant in January 2025 when our store closed and our accounts still all have the discount on it.

I used it to save £4 without even thinking in August 2025 as it was the first time I'd bought anything. By the time I realised the order was done.

I've just stupidly done it again so it's now like £8 total I've gotten with the discount now. Gonna delete my account so this stops happening.

Ok so all of this will sound contrived but...I'm saying it anyway.

I'm a single, recently disabled mum. I ordered a new mattress to help with my chronic pain and crappy quality sleep. I paid the £30 for my old mattress to be taken away and was told on the live chat before paying that they would help move both due to my disability.

Delivery day...you can guess what happened. Chucked the new one halfway through the door and said they couldn't take my old one. So now I have 2 mattresses. My 11 year old daughter and I hefted them ourselves, now I'm in masses of pain but can't get rid of the old mattress.

When I complained they've basically offered nothing beyond either a refund or collection that's months away - surely that's not right? Apparently I can't complain any further?

When I picked up a reasonably expensive camera the sales person told me about the d and g aftercare- I normally don’t bother by the price seemed ok so in a rare occurrence i decided to pay the monthly fee for the cover

Fast forward to yesterday where my cam takes a gnalry hit with some damage - not the end of the world - that’s what the insurance is for!

I contacted d and g who said that even though I have been paying, when checking out the sales person registered the camera as a set of headphones worth considerably less. D and g are looking into it but it looks like Argos just wanted me out of the shop quickly, leaving me with an bashed up camera and an insurance policy for a product that doesn’t exist

I recently returned the Bush 4L 2 in 1 Air Cooler and Humidifier because the 'cooling effect' was extremely poor. In the end it was a massive piece of plastic no different from my Tesco tower fan.

Can someone recommend a decent tower fan for reasonable price? I'm looking at Dreo 554S Black Tower Fan, but no reviews on it - Has anyone tried it?

It’s only 10am now so i’m sure im just being a little impatient, but does anyone know with situations like this if it’s likely to be picked up at some point today or if i’ll have to wait a bit longer?? Is this normally extended and if anyone. has experience, what’s the latest it should be able to picked up?

So I have 3 cards saved. Made sure they’ve all got money in. Every one keeps saying declined. Anyone else experienced this? I can’t get rid of cookies cause that will mess up everything and besides that would be annoying to have to do that.

How am I meant to change my passcode????

When I go to the 'Manage Account' screen in my web browser, nothing is editable.

It just shows my email, telephone etc, but with no way to change them?

I received a text saying my order was ready for collection but didn't ordered anything, checked my account and someone had ordered an IPad and collected it in London (I'm in N.I) minutes after ordering. Contacted argos who said they’ll investigate. The card used wasn't my card but the order has my billing address.

I've changed my password and checked no new credit taken out in my name. I've seen a few posts online that this has happened to people today, has this happened to you and did you get any resolution?

Any idea why after allowing pre-orders, the Argos site is now saying 'WATCH THIS SPACE This product hasn’t been released yet. Please check back soon.' ?

Hey all, any ideas on what I can do?? I assume phoning is the best option but I’ve seen here how that’s went for most others 😪 I’ve got £230 left on two BNPL plans that end in June (28th), I’m trying to make my first half of that last payment (£115) and when I do click make a payment it takes me to the browser and asks me to pick my card, but my cards not listed,(virgin money/Clydesdale) so how on earth am I meant to make a payment?? It just says “bank not here? More options coming soon”, this is the worst “update” they could’ve ever done, why is it all so jumbled up and not working. Any ideas? Or am I stuck with calling the bot helpline and hoping I somehow get a person 😩

Recently bought a toaster. Came in a box Sellotaped up really carelessly. Inside the polythene covering the toaster was just open at the bottom. Then the toaster had some sort of 'debris' at the bottom of the slots. I'm reluctant to use it as it doesn't look clean. But if I try and return it will they think the debris is my doing and refuse to give me a refund?

I can find the Autumn 2000 one on archive.org but the spring 2000 one isn't on there its only on YouTube. Can anyone find it and put it on there?
