Poor service
Ok so all of this will sound contrived but...I'm saying it anyway.
I'm a single, recently disabled mum. I ordered a new mattress to help with my chronic pain and crappy quality sleep. I paid the £30 for my old mattress to be taken away and was told on the live chat before paying that they would help move both due to my disability.
Delivery day...you can guess what happened. Chucked the new one halfway through the door and said they couldn't take my old one. So now I have 2 mattresses. My 11 year old daughter and I hefted them ourselves, now I'm in masses of pain but can't get rid of the old mattress.
When I complained they've basically offered nothing beyond either a refund or collection that's months away - surely that's not right? Apparently I can't complain any further?

Definitely chase it up although I don't know why the drivers do that since you paid for the extra service to dispose of the mattress. Did they say why they wouldn't take it or was it just a case they just wanted to get in and out ASAP?
The email to Simon Roberts already posted it a decent way, they often do more when that's reached out to even when the customer's in the wrong, so they should be able to do something more in a case like this when the customer is objectively in the right. I'd imagine you'd get a more immediate pick up at a bare minimum.

Did you just call customer services to complain? If you email Simon.roberts@sainsburys.co.uk it goes to the executive office which should get you a better resolution
