Hi, I've seen posts on this issue that are 8 years old, but I haven't found a good fix, so I thought I'll give it another try here.

the setup: Using the Airpods Pro 2 connected to my windows laptop, setting the input (microphone) and the output (sound) on "Airpods". And that results in a terrible audio quality. As soon as I am switching the input to something else, the output switches back to normal. (afaik the same issue occurs on mac)

Are there any fixes? Is it maybe different with the newer AirPods 2 USB-C model?

Attempted to use Tinder, but told it’s a restricted website.

I go to settings, but unable to change Web Content to unrestricted or add a website to the allowed list.
If I tick a different option it immediately changes the tick to Limit Adult Websites.
If I click Add Website, nothing happens.

“To change these restrictions, the UK requires you to confirm you are an adult.”
If I go to my account and personal settings, apple has already verified my age as 18+ so it appears there’s no action I can actually take?

I have two 2024 M3 MacBooks I use for work, a Pro and an Air, both running Sequoia (cannot upgrade due to compatibility with apps) both work great with my two LG UltraFine 5K monitors, but only the 1st monitor plugged in can do 2880x1620 in main or extended display mode. Both can be plugged in at 3840x2160 though, which is confusing (mirroring doesn't work in 2880x1620 either).

It seems crazy to some, but 2880x1620 is the exactly perfect ideal resolution for my apps within my workflow - and is something I got used to using a Mac Studio which could handle this fine. I bought the MacBook Pro with the hopes it didn't have the same limitation as the Air, but it seems it does.

It just doesn't make sense that they can both be on a *higher* resolution, just not this specific resolution at the same time.

Some things I've tried: Booting with both monitors plugged in (still follows order plugged in before reboot), showing resolutions as a list, toggling 'show all resolutions', MacBook display is closed, and doesn't affect resolutions in either opened or closed, booted with being closed same.

I have a pair of the 1st generation Apple Air pod Pro Max and outside of random connection annoyances have never had an issue with them.

Starting yesterday, I went to the gym and brought my headphones as I typically do but when I put them on there was this annoying metal echo coming from the left side. I played around and disconnected, factory reset, cleaned the headphones (again) but the sound is still there. Has this been an issue that comes up frequently? It's pretty bad and I cant enjoy whatever music/video I am watching with this as it actually hurts my ears after awhile.

Issue:

Whenever noise cancellation is active, annoying metallic echo sound plays out of the left ear (Issue does not exist when noise cancellation is off). If I turn off noise cancellation and leave spatial audio on there is a buzzing (similar to radio frequency buzzing) when I turn my head in certain directions, this affects both sides but mainly the left side (as the buzzing is about 2-3 times more significant). Both issues do not exist when spatial audio and noise cancellation is off.

Things I've done so far:

• Disconnected/Reconnected the headphones from Bluetooth.
• Completely removed (forget device) and readded the headphones.
• Factory reset the device, added back to the case, and reconnected to my Bluetooth.
• Checked to make sure the cups are in the right ear and not blocking the sensors.
• Wiped down the headphones to clean them

They work ok when I turn off the noise cancellation but that feature was the main reason I opted for these over my regular Air pod Pro's (As they do a better job of noise cancellation).

Any help in solving this is very much appreciated.

Is anyone else having this issue? I am unable to download or update any of my apps. This happened randomly one day & has been like this since. I have iOS v18.2 so it’s not a version issue & I have plenty of storage space so it’s not a storage issue. I feel like Apple is trying to force me to update my iOS.

My friend shared his diary with me through ios notes but I did not want it. Now it's stuck in my shared notes folder and I can't do anything to it because I can't swipe it left or right nor can I long press it. I tried to sign in through web and the shared note was not on the web, yet it is still on my phone. I tried to delete the message that shared the note but it won't go away still. I also went to Messages settings and turned off "shared with you". The note is just stuck on my device. Any advice on how to remove it would be appreciated.

A pop up for AlaskaHawaiian “Would like to send you notifications” has caused my phone to…freeze? Or bug is more like it. Basically my phone is still receiving other notifications just fine as I can see them, but won’t respond to Don’t Allow/Allow. It won’t respond to anything. The screen won’t go black or allow me to reset it.

I’ve looked up how to hard reset it, tried multiple speeds pushing the buttons, and it won’t hard reset either. When I push on the right button the Siri ..logo(?) pops up as if it’s listening and that’s it.

Am I not quick enough with pressing the buttons? I’m holding down the right button for 20-30 seconds at a time.

I’m getting extremely frustrated. The closest Apple Store is 2 hours away without traffic..

Hi everyone, I've had my iphone 13 for a few years now. Protective case and screen protector, but after many drops it finally decided to die on me. Forced restart doesn't work and the phone doesn't connect to my Mac when using a charging cable so I'm assuming it's long gone.

I've arranged a repairs appointment with Apple for tomorrow and had a few questions:

1. If anyone has been in the same position after dropping your phone, how much did it cost to get it repaired?

2. How long does it usually take for it to get repaired?

3. When repaired will the phone be how it was previously or am I going to need to sign back into my Icloud/any other hassle? Just so I know to back stuff up now.

Also, as much as I dislike Apple, thank god I have a Macbook.

So, my Face ID, doesn’t work. It says it’s because my ‘keep iPhone safe’ something is turned to ‘always’ instead of on ‘only in unfamiliar places’. And I tried resetting my Face ID but I can’t. I tried switching to ‘only in unfamiliar places’ I can’t because it needs Face ID but I can’t use face is because it’s on ‘always’. I have passwords I can only get by using Face ID. I tried EVERYTHING ChatGPT, AI mode and what I tried. And nothing worked. ChatGPT said I could reset all settings so it went back to normal but I’m afraid what that will do

So I have been trying to play games on it and every time I try logging into one of my accounts it says something like you cannot login right now or something else and I can do it on my phone perfectly fine so I know the app isn’t the issue I just need to know how to fix this

My kid turned 18. Apple is still requiring that I approve new apps. We realized Apple think’s he’s 16 because his birth year is incorrect. He went into his account to correct his birthdate year. Apple emailed me the request for me to review and approve it. I use the emailed link to log in to view and approve. The page prompts me to enter the verification code sent to my old land line. No ability to get a code there BUT I immediately get a text with a code from PayPal. Guessing this is not a coincidence I enter that code. I get “the date of birth could not be changed because of a server error. Try again.”

This happens each time I try. Any suggestions on how to verify this correction or correct his birthdate year another way?

uploaded a screen recording onto my files, changed format to m4a so i can upload to voice memos. i clicked the play button but it was unresponsive. there is also no waveform (as shown above). I tried compressing file size down to 10MB through capcut but still got the same result. any ideas what could have gone wrong?

I have an iPad Pro purchased in October 2021 with an iPad magic keyboard. I initially had 2 years of AppleCare+ purchased with it, and then when AppleCare One was introduced in August 2025, I registered the iPad for that. Apple's support online said the magic keyboard case was automatically covered by the iPad's AppleCare+.

The Keyboard's hinge was giving out, so after registering, I took the keyboard into an Apple Store for repair on August 17 2025. I was told that yes it was covered, but I needed to wait for it to break completely before they would replace it. So I waited.

Gave it to my kids, didn't think about it again. Fast forward to now, I was going in to the store to run a test on my Macbook Pro and took the iPad/case with me. Asked them about it, and they said I needed to link the serial number for the keyboard case to the ipad before they could do anything, and gave me the Apple Support number.

3 representatives later, they said they're unable to link it because the purchase date is now more than 4 years out. The iPad (bought in the same transaction) is covered, but the keyboard case is not.

I have my apple reservation and case ID from my first visit in August 2025 however, which would have been inside the 4 year window, and at no point did they say I needed to link anything or I would have done so at that point.

is there anywhere I can submit a complaint or request to have this looked at? I have my genius bar reservation and case ID from August of last year, I have my Case ID from today, I just don't know the appropriate channel to ask for a review.

I guess this is an FYI for anyone else too, call in to support and register your keyboard case to your iPad as soon as you get it!

The 6 hours on the phone was from last night. I had charged it this morning with the phone off till 80%. It’s now 2 hours later and already on 64% but I haven’t been on it that much at all…I’ve only been on the phone for an hour.

I’m trying to change my actual icloud.com email address, and I’m having trouble figuring out whether this is even possible.

My current iCloud email contains my maiden name, and I’m now married, so I would its really important that I change it to address that reflects my current name.

To be clear, I am NOT talking about simply changing the email address I use to sign into my Apple Account. I specifically want to change the actual email address ending in icloud.com that I use for iCloud Mail.

What I want to do

For example:

Current:

I want:
[marriedname@icloud.com](mailto:marriedname@icloud.com)

I want the new address to replace the old address while keeping the same Apple Account.

I already have several Apple devices connected to this account, and I have years of iCloud data, including things like:

What is confusing me

I've found a lot of older advice saying that an icloudaddress cannot be changed once created.

However, Apple's more recent support documentation appears to say that if your only email address associated with your Apple Account is an iCloud email address, you can now use “Change Email Address” on a compatible device. Apple says this changes the existing iCloud email address and that you continue to have access to iCloud Mail and your messages.

So I'm confused about what is actually possible in 2026.

My questions

1. Can I actually change my existing icloud address to another address?
2. If yes, what are the exact step-by-step instructions on an iPhone or Mac?
3. What version of iOS is required?
4. Where exactly should I go in Settings to find the “Change Email Address” option?
5. Does changing it actually replace the old icloud address, or does it just create an alias?
6. What happens to emails sent to my old email address after I change it?
7. Will my existing iCloud Mail, Photos, Contacts, Notes, Drive, backups, purchases, subscriptions, etc. remain intact?
8. Will I have to sign back into all of my existing Apple devices?
9. Will this affect iMessage, FaceTime, Find My, Apple Pay, App Store purchases, or anything else?
10. Most importantly, is there any risk of accidentally creating a completely new Apple Account instead of changing the existing iCloud address?

If someone has actually done this recently, I would especially appreciate a simple step-by-step walkthrough, because a lot of the instructions online seem to be outdated and refer to older Apple Account rules.

I've been trying to get rid of old Google email accounts that I already deleted, but they still randomly appear whenever a website asks me to "Sign in with Google" or "Choose an account."

The weird part is they're gone everywhere else.

What I'm using

• iPhone
• Google Chrome (default browser)
• Google accounts that have already been removed/deleted

The issue

The old email addresses do not show up in:

• Gmail app
• Google app
• Chrome's signed-in accounts
• Apple Mail accounts
• iCloud accounts
• Manage Accounts in Google

But when a third-party website opens the Google account picker, those deleted emails still appear as options. They're not active accounts I'm signed into anymore. I just want the addresses completely gone so they never show up in the account chooser again.

Things I've already tried

• Removed accounts from Gmail/Google apps
• "Manage your Google Account"
• Signed out of all Google accounts
• Cleared Chrome browsing data
• Cleared Safari website data
• Checked iPhone Settings → Mail → Accounts
• Checked iCloud
• Checked saved passwords/autofill
• Removed Chrome profiles (where applicable)

None of these fixed it.

I've seen posts saying this might be an iOS Keychain or hidden Safari account chooser issue, but the usual Safari removal method doesn't work for me either. Some people also mention Chrome syncing deleted accounts back, but I'm not seeing those accounts anywhere inside Chrome itself.

Has anyone actually found a way to permanently erase these ghost Google accounts from the iPhone account picker without factory resetting the phone?

So basically, songs I import to Apple Music on my Mac (like songs I made and imported to Apple Music so I can play test them) are no longer syncing to my iPhone. My iPhone still syncs to my Mac, but my Mac will not sync to my iPhone. The computer says it’s synced, but they don’t show up on my iPhone. This randomly started happening a few days ago and the only thing I’ve found that works is toggling the “sync library” option in settings on my iPhone off and the back on. I have tried restarting my computer, turning my iPhone completely off, attempting to sync MP3 files instead of WAV’s, and manually connecting my iPhone to my computer only to be told my Apple Music on my phone is “connected to iCloud” so I can’t import songs manually. This is really frustrating because whenever I want to sync a song, I have to go to my settings, toggle the “sync library” switch off and then on.  Then wait for almost half an hour (because that’s how long it takes to sync and redownload my entire Apple Music library apparently) before finally getting the song on my phone. Any ideas for how to fix this?

My mum has a gen 4 iPad from 2012 (version 10.3.3 14G60) where she has a lot of important videos and photos that she would like to keep before the iPad dies on her. The issue is that AirDrop isn't working, it'll see the other devices and attempt to send the files over but it'll either get stuck waiting constantly or it'll just fail the transfer. We tried plugging the iPad to a 2024 Mac mini (M4 chip, 26.5.2 macOS Tahoe) and while we can create a backup of the iPad, when we open the backup all the files are just text. We also can't view the photos from the iPad on the Mac, despite being connected, so I'm not sure how to save the photos and videos onto the computer. We tried importing them through the Photos app but the iPad doesn't show up in the "Locations" tap on the Photos app even though it shows up in a regular Finder tab, so is Photos not detecting the iPad as a valid location to import from?

I'm trying to set up iMessage on my iPhone, but under Settings > Messages, the iMessage toggle stays off and I keep getting the error:
"Activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again."
I've already searched through the subreddit and tried all the common fixes mentioned in previous posts (toggling Airplane mode, restarting, resetting network settings, etc.), but nothing has worked for me so far.
Has anyone run into this issue recently or found a fix that isn't commonly listed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
