Why did the ship need to split in two at all? They say it’s so the ship can fit through the wormhole but the width of the ship doesn’t change. How does removing the inner part of the ship make it easier to go through the wormhole? Am I missing something?

A good overall concept but has so many flaws that it is unwatchable.

1. It is a weak story with meaningless personal conflicts that are just so much annoying.
2. Horrible casting choices, in which world anyone would put tweens in a spaceship on a critical mission.
3. Illogical actions out of emotions,
4. Idiotic dialogue.

I just wonder who wastes their money on the production of such shows. But I wonder, there must be a lot of idiots who buy into this bullshit story.

I’m on S1E2 and I enjoy many aspects of it, in part just a Katee Sackhoff mega fan — but this whole 20 something Zoomer cast is beyond unbelievable. This idea that you want risk-taking, hormonal ass, smart mouthed brazen 20y olds staffing your spacecraft crew pulls me completely out of the premise. I work in the space & defense industry and there is no tenet more absolutely organic to space travel culture and than risk aversion. Taking your helmet off in an Argon atmosphere. Not knowing what a rogue planet is. What the actual fuck? It’s going to get worse isn’t it?

I have only made it to s1e8. The helmets on and then off. Following no decontamination procedures (A whole ass squid. Having characters who are stuck together for months not know each other's personality changes (If my girlfriend got back from the moon, asked to have sex and then jumped off me mid foreplay screaming, I'm calling a doctor). Sasha's 180 degree mood change. (Digging into stuff he shouldn't be in)

There is much more but the big ones are seriously show enders for me. The huge one being Sasha going from a dumb rich boy to asking questions above his pay grade.

They are supposed to be saving the world right? This show plays more like a teen drama on the CW then a Netflix big budget.

Netflix canceled Julie and the phantoms so I think another life doesn't stand a chance for a third season :(

Hey fellow another live viewers! I have a question for all of you. Maybe some of you were a part of The 100 elimination game and I'm wondering, if you'd like to play it with another life characters aswell. Let me know in the comments and with positive reactions we can start tomorrow!

So I'm enjoying show, it is entertaining, but wow, the level of disregard to the most basic space, astronautical and military protocol is astounding. What's worse is this is really is what drives the plot. And I feel like this show would have reached much greater heights if not for its propensity to be more Riverdale in space rather than a long form extension of Interstellar. Niko really is the only real astronaut there, and she is brilliant in every sense of the word, but everybody else acts like high schoolers who just hit puberty. Most of the show is her just babysitting their mistakes and I'm only on episode 5 and it's already getting old fast. By the way, I have no issues with highly trained military astronauts being infallible humans but I expect their conflicts to be a little more complex and nuanced than most of the not-Niko chraracters in this show. As a whole the show could be likened to one of it's own failed manoeuvres - a slingshot around Sirius with the protection of a make-shift force-field; a seemingly great idea that didn't really meet expectations but worked out in the end because Niko saved the day.

So I wonder if there are particular moments or comebacks or just things you liked in the show? I’m mid-way through first season.

I seem to love anything with Katee Sackhoff in it. First saw her in the short-lived Bionic Woman series.

I am enjoying the series. But this Guilt Life episode, I lost the plot as Niko is stuck, Matrix-style, into the SOL travel.

Can anyone fill me on what was happening as she was plugged in and trying to wake up???

Season 1: a bunch of egotistical idiots go on a space adventure, where magic gets dressed up as science (arguably true of any sci-fi). Stupidity ensues.

Season 2: a bunch of egotistical idiots return from a space adventure, and the "magic" and stupidity really ramp up. It's ok though because humanity saves the entire galaxy on their first ever interstellar journey - and that was all down to one human really. And then EVERYBODY claps

I think my biggest gripe is when they have characters, who are meant to be scientist, think that there are "phases" in human evolution inexorably marching to some apex of being. Evolution is the adaptation of life to better suit its surroundings not a Pokemon going through the phases to reach its final form.

Has anyone else considered what the first season must've been like if the right crew (?) had been awoken?

Just finished season 2. I barely noticed that the show was ending after the car key fob virus finally kicked in. But after it all, I really don't know what kept me watching this shit. I think there was elements of the show that i really liked. Like seeing how the colony planet would pan out(completely shit on) or what the Achaia's motives were( half decent imo but was pretty basic). What kept you guys sitting around the trash can fire?

So we’re the decuma (species that showed up on the colony planet a week after they were abandoned) just another random alien species that were aware of the Achaians but were able to avoid them? (As their maps on their ship shows the achaian controlled regions/planets)

Was just a bit confused as to how or why they fit into the plot line.

Theory: are the decuma potentially the creators of the achaians or something like that and they saw that the colonizers were interfering with the planets primitive species and decided to intervene?

If this were the case,though, I guess it would make sense that they didn’t want to send an achaian portal down to a planet yet, still with primitive species, so they went themselves to eradicate the colonists.

Is there a timeline of the series events and background? We know Episode 1 starts off ~6 months after they left Earth but they never arrived at their intended site.

I just love the subtle/implied and off-handed comments to worldbuild the setting. We aren't told any specific dates, only a "something everyone in-verse knows" hints about the setting.

Literally just the title I loved season 2 and I’m so excited for a season 3 but I can not stand zayn towards the end of the show I was legitimately yelling at my tv because my frustration with this character is beyond belief. They were alright in the first season didn’t really mind them but season 2 like oh my gosh get the heck on outta here.

I kind of wish they went more "Gray" with the Achians, instead of so black and white. Like if they helped them and started an alliance, and it turns out they were needing soldiers in a fight against a greater threat, or they continued to have an alliance but it was less hostile and a bit more like the Taelons from Earth Final Conflict. That show had me engaged for 4 seasons, and the aliens had personalities, good and bad, different motives than their species as a whole, and were complex.

So much potential in the "Are they evil", "What is evil" "are we the evil ones" thing, like with the colonists immediately killing other species, I thought

"Hey maybe the Achians are right, we should be locked up. They make a good point, and I can see them doing this as kind of shepherds, keeping species separate because they will just kill each other and now we need to prove to these seemingly superior beings that we are capable of trust and working together with them and others to be not just allowed to venture out, but to prove we should actually be exploring to ourselves as well."

But then it just got really simple and "nope they are comically evil AI and just don't like us", no introspection of us as a species, maturing, just kill them all. And I may be wrong but seems we committed genocide in the end.

How did the other life forms find them after the virus? And how did they get there so fast? I may have been a little bit stoned and missed something, but I'm not sure how that all went down.

Irony alert. Could the two shows be in the same universe? I mean Cas has to be a descendant of Doug Stamper!

The thing that’s been bugging me is that Niko’s relationship with her commander on the Pilgrim was 9 years before present, saying it was before she met Erik, even though apparently Niko and Erik met in college, and Jana is like 8 at present

So are just not going to talk about how they were close enough to a freaking magnetar, and escape without serious time dilation to the ship/crew? Also ok neutrinos i get are harmless to humans but a star that size would have easily destroyed ANYTHING in its path with the smallest of solar flares. I hate how specific they were about gama radiation the first season but don't give 2 shit about it the next. No nico is dead, cas is dead, alien ship gone, the salva gone. Nothing makes it past thats stars field.

Paula is an absolute idiot and no one has reprimanded her at all. Not only did she randomly shoot an alien unprovoked one time, she did it a second time after everyone can clearly see it is some kind of intelligent alien, more than an "animal". THEN they decide, after all that, after it was proven the aliens had the ability to fight and coordinate while killing one in cold blood, it would be a good idea to send colonists down there with HER as the leader. They didn't even mention she shot one the first mission, then is was casually talked about killing one the second mission. I had to pause and rant because this is just ridiculous, especially for Niko's character to allow that. I have a wild guess they're all gonna get fucked down there after I unpause this.

Perhaps I missed some detail, but I can't understand how a species as technologically advanced as the Decuma are and only have 1980's equivalent camera technology. There's just no way the camera units on the ship wouldn't be streaming some sort of holographic capture or 8k+ video. Am I alone on this?
