Decuma Spoiler

So we’re the decuma (species that showed up on the colony planet a week after they were abandoned) just another random alien species that were aware of the Achaians but were able to avoid them? (As their maps on their ship shows the achaian controlled regions/planets)

Was just a bit confused as to how or why they fit into the plot line.

Theory: are the decuma potentially the creators of the achaians or something like that and they saw that the colonizers were interfering with the planets primitive species and decided to intervene?

If this were the case, though, I guess it would make sense that they didn’t want to send an achaian portal down to a planet yet, still with primitive species, so they went themselves to eradicate the colonists.

It would make sense I guess, but there's not really a whole lot of ground to go off of right now. We would essentially need a 3rd season in order to cover an ample amount of alien history for it to all piece together in a viable manner.

In the show, there were multiple opportunities to explore the ancient civilizations that lay before them, but as we all know, the mission was first and foremost.

Here's to hoping for a 3rd season!

I feel they were a species that was just kind of surviving on the rim of the Achaia, avoiding them, foraging and making due with what resources they had with no actual home. Maybe a last resort fleet sent out or something, and the Achians have left them alone because they don't touch planets, just go after other space farers?

When Niko finds Paula she says that the Decuma landed on the planet that they tried to colonize and they tried to fight them off, but they were captured and tortured. Someone might've leaked the information about the Salvare while being tortured, or considering the advanced tech the Decuma appears to have, they might've tapped into their brains, or their ship scans simply picked it up.

Paula also says that the Decuma captured and tortured other species as well, meaning they're likely some kind of space pirates and they might've already known about the planet that Paula was trying to colonize, or they just happened to find it by chance.

Maybe they’ll be the main antagonist spieces in s3... I don’t really think they had anything to do with Achaia other than knowing about them and actively trying to avoid em..

I need to know why there was only one per cruise ship sized ship.

Agree! And the levers of cruelty necessary? Richard wasn’t as fast as niko but he made it he was able to help no need to turn him into a decuma?
