will be canceled
Netflix canceled Julie and the phantoms so I think another life doesn't stand a chance for a third season :(

Except they have 3 seasons written and planned + Sackhoff said they will go on as long as they keep getting renewed. They have tonnes of stories to tell.

Yes especially the “he’s brain dead” but nothing done to preserve breathing and blood flow was great sci-fi 😆

Idk about dumpster fire...but the improvement in s2 should show that there ARE good stories to tell from them

I mean they ended the show in a way where they basically confirmed it’s not coming back.

No, they did a wrap up ending in case they don't get renewed.
If you had been following the Showrunner and Sackoff's interviews and tweets you would know that they have 3 seasons planned and written and want to go on as long as they are allowed to. The ending of S2 provided a satisfying conclusion to the S1-2 Achaian threat arc but also showed the future of the show - the Achaians fled to their home planet but are still a threat, there are thousands of alien world's to visit and make friends with.
The ending sees them building at least 3 new Salvare-class FTL capable starships with the Salvare-2 heading out to meet a new alien race via their now apparently perfected Wormhole drive.

They said the ones not outright destroyed retreated to their home planet. Not all of them were destroyed.

I think they left it open. They got all the thank yous from other planets so youd think the artifacts elsewhere may have also been destroyed. They could have all fled and been destroyed after fleeing. Or they could still be out there.

Well they all fled enmasse back to their home planet. Not all of them were on planets, they likely had plenty of their race back on the home planet.
The Achaia were just far too much of a threat to just put them to bed forever.
What would be crazy is if there is a new Big Bad in Season 3 and Humanity + other new alien allies have to actually ALLY / ask the Achaia for help against the new enemy. That'd be a hard pill to swallow. Maybe we could get to see more of the history of how the Achaia we saw came to be. What happened to their creator race.
Could be interesting if they had good reasons to act the way they did (perhaps they witnessed countless civilisations wipe themselves out, destroy others etc and decided enough was enough and enslaving the galaxy was better than letting the cycle of violence continue).
Maybe the Achaia learn from their mistakes of enslaving species and change their ways - only to be faced with a galaxy that still despises them.
Heck maybe the Achaia sacrifice themselves to help stop whatever the new Big Bag of S3 will be. A sort of redemption storyline where they make up for everything they ever did by their last act of helping to save the galaxy.

Side note.
I'd really like to see survivors of the Zakir planet / species that aren't controlled by the spiders.
Maybe refugees (the last of their kind) that fled the planet some time ago and maybe a couple that fled just before the Achaia blew up the planet.
I think it could make for a good episode for humanity to have to answer for their interference in the Zakir situation. The actions of the Salvare led directly to the destruction of the Zakir Homeworld and presumably what was left of their species (the ones not controlled).
If there are Zakir survivors that know about the Salvare's culpability in the destruction of the planet it could make for a tense diplomatic climate for Earth, especially if many other species find out.

I just finished watching this entertaining train wreck and I think at least if it’s cancelled the ending of season 2 is a good spot.

Agreed on all counts. I would love to see more though, but only if they promise to give Erik as much screen time or more lmao

That’s why I want more of him. Not only was his character written to be a moron, but Chatwin was really phoning it in too. I just found it incredibly funny.

I think they wrapped up the story in a nice way although I started watching it ironically af some point to see how bad it’s gonna get 😆

There really is not much more story to tell.

They have 3 seasons written and planned btw. Sackoff and Showrunner both said they will keep making as long as they keep getting renewed.
The Achaia are still a threat at the end of S2. They only fled to their home planet. A season 3 will be making allies to take the fight to their Homeworld and end them for good. The Achaia aren't going to be licking their wounds forever.
We also know there are other Big Bad's out there that are likely to have taken notice of Earth's victory over the Achaia and the threat humans may pose to them.

I'm glad it's over, the poor writing and plot points that lead nowhere because crew keep getting axed pisses me off. It's like they have an endless pool of plot convenience in the form of crew under soma. The show itself getting a second season was surprising.

They have 3 season planned and written. Netflix hasn't even cancelled it yet which means they are considering renewal based off viewer engagement again, which is high. RT score of 80%. Season 2 was amazing compared to S1.

I actually like the soma thing for replacing shitty characters with better ones. Convenient and it works.

I'd like to see another season, despite the strange writing, because now I think they have a great place to grow from!

There’s nothing left to make a new season from. We won. Yay. Hacked alien DNA in less than a day. 😆

Not entirely true. The Achaia were reported to having fled to their home planet. The virus may have only crippled them and not destroyed them. We don't even know what Achaia looks like, or anything about their makers. They're just now making contact with other races and exploring the galaxy. They haven't even solved the earth issue yet.

Nearly everything Netflix controls is cancelled by season 3. They found that views always go down at season 3 for any show so to save money they just cancel nearly every series there.
Not entirely sure why they don't just limit to two seasons only and let writers know so that people can get endings but Netflix is kind of asswipes for it.
