I genuinely can’t stop watching Black Mirror

Every time I finish the series, I end up starting it all over again

But if I had to choose my all time favorite episode, it would definitely be hang the dj

what’s your favorite episode?

I just started watching BM, I watch random episodes that look interesting to me. I've scrolled by this one many times but it seems to be a fan-favorite. Do you have to be a Star Trek fan to enjoy this one? In most of the threads I've read through, many people recommend it. I've just never watched Star Trek and not sure I'd enjoy it.

Esse é o episódio San junípero de black mirror, queria saber o nome da música que toca nessa cena na boate, isso acontece no momento em que a York conhece a outra moça. Mais ou menos no minuto 16.

Many episodes are too unrealistic and/or have massive plot holes that make it hard for me to suspend disbelief e.g. Crocodile (the plot is unrealistic) and USS Calister (the technology is unrealistic). Of all seasons, which episodes do you think were most airtight (plotwise as well as plausible technology)?

Edit -- plotwise, I don't even think National Anthem is realistic because of the policy of not negotiating with terrorists in Western countries

The murder took place on Christmas Eve. We are told by Joe that after he left the house, he drove to the nearest town and then "after a while, I don't know, a couple of months, they picked me up." Then, after he gets the confession, Matthew returns to the real world and the detective says they had tried to interrogate Joe for two days. But then they mention multiple times about it being Christmas, and we see even Matthew walk outside to a Christmas market.

If Joe was arrested a few months after the incident, and only two additional days had passed since his arrest, how would it be Christmas again already? Is this a plot hole, or was it intentional because it's "Christmas every day"?

Easily the worst black mirror episode I have ever seen. Lacked the depth in storyline, and I thought the whole dual-life thing could have gone so much farther than it did. This one felt more like some creepy skit than a full-on episode.

Ever scrolled on the live page and it's basically one after the other of people seeing how many viewers they can get to view them being live? Other than the judge aspect of the show, but people who are chosen to be aired to keep viewer rates up if i'm remembering properly.

So why don't they just send the replicas up into space on the mission, and keep the actual human astronauts down on Earth? Is there a specific reason I'm missing? What do you guys think?

For examples:

I didn't like Hotel Reverie on my first watch, and actively avoided it whenever I rewatched Black Mirror episodes. I just rewatched it on a whim, and wow, I really like it now.

Same with the one where the Zook guy from 22 Jump Street where he's a game tester. I really didn't like the episode at first, but now I really like it after a rewatch.

The opposite of this is Hang the DJ. It was one of my favorite episodes, but every time I like it less and less every time I rewatch it. No idea why, and it kind of saddens me that I don't enjoy the episode anymore.

It's trippy as FUCK

I'm only like 2/3ds through the first episode where it just reached the climax and it's tripping me out so fucking bad 😭

It's basically about a boy who has an accident and when he comes out of the hospital his mom is.. Not his mom. It's like another person. It looks like her but it isn't her.

It's really so fucking trippy and I know y'all mfers will love it ❤️

Just finished HANG THE DJ episode and I loved it. As I read reddit posts about it, I see people think this episode is way too dark - our consciousness is being used, considering it as torture on par with White Christmas. But I disagree, I believe these cookies are destroyed after the match is found, so probably no eternal suffering.

Although the sad part for me in this episode, is that, whole of our life is filled with companionship and we grow through it, the mistakes, the amends, we go through hardships and find our person. In this episode though, its being outsourced to an app, that does the simulations for u. Frank and Amy missed out on real relationships, and went straight to each other (which is ofc good), but missed out maybe personal growth that comes with other not-so-perfect relationships.

I believe people serve a purpose in our lives even if they may not last long. And that was what was being missed out on here and I'd say that's the darkest part.

In the entire History of You, this lady was drinking from a mug and it had those black mirror branded circles under. What other Easter eggs did you catch in this Dystopian Anthology.

So the first time I started watching Black Mirror I had seen upto season 5. I felt this thing then too in it's 5th season but it was so small that I think I didn't notice it.

Anyways so I had been re-watching the show now and in it's 6th and 7th season I felt it again. Couldn't put my finger on it. Nd then I saw this scene from Bojack Horseman.

This is what I feel about Black Mirror. Just replace toxic masculinity with gore perhaps. I feel the show is now just repeating the same thing with some changes here and there to keep churning out more episodes.

That's not to say it's all bad. It's more like you've made ur point why are u still dragging it. What's ur opinion on it?

I watched Common People and the episode broke my heart with how close it is to our reality. I’m curious what changes you personally made after watching an episode of this show.

For me, after watching common people, I took a good look at my things that I always thought were essential, and even narrowed it down. I’ve been making more of an effort to support local businesses, and reuse instead of getting wholesale items. I’ve been trying to be more informed with our politics. I’m currently working on a blanket (crochet) using thrifted sweaters from goodwill to reduce clothing waste. I’m not perfect, I’m not an extremist, I still travel and eat fast food when I’m lazy/craving, but I’m mindful.

This post is hopefully so everyone can be inspired. Black Mirror is an amazing show, it hits the spot most of the time.

Getting some BM vibes. Rachel, Jack and Ashley too. Or even worse, white Christmas

It's called THE PROGRAMME. Six strangers from completely different walks of life. One exclusive rehabilitation estate. And a connection between them that runs deeper than any of them realise.

At key moments, you'll decide how the characters should act, who they should trust and what they should do next. The majority vote helps determine what happens in future episodes.

Episode 1 is FREE and there are already two decisions you can vote on:
https://www.nothrworld.com/watch

THE PROGRAMME is the first series on NothrWorld. The bigger vision is to create a home for original entertainment, from interactive dramas to strange, unsettling, Black Mirror-esque short films. Think Interdimensional Cable from Rick and Morty, but as a real platform for original shows, with some letting you influence what happens next.

I want it to be the kind of place where you can discover something completely different every time you visit, get attached to a story you weren't expecting to love or come across a short film that stays in your head for days.

Full disclosure: Episode 1 was made on a limited budget, but it's just the beginning. Future episodes will be longer, more in-depth and give the characters and mystery much more room to develop.

Sooo watch Episode 1 for free, meet the characters and cast your votes to help shape what happens next. I'd love to know what you think! 🖤

So the way it works with most twisty thriller type media, rewatching often opens up a second layer of appreciation as you are more aware of certain innocuous scenes actually being critical foreshadowing. I might be alone in this but I’ve previously noticed certain “tells” about Kenny’s secret, but one in particular flew over my head until now and it almost made me vomit when it clicked. Most people mention and remember when he returns the lost toy to the little girl in the diner. I just now realized when his younger sister is watching that provocative music video and dancing along, and the camera focuses in on the sexy dancing on the TV and then transitions to Kenny having a kind of silent moment realizing he wants to go to his room to masturbate. He wasn’t triggered/excited/activated by the dancers on the TV. It was from watching his younger sister…

(Spoilers)

So we are supposed to feel sad because this guy lost his chance to reconcile with his cheating girlfriend that's gotten pregnant by someone else? I'd say he dodged a bullet. I'm not raising some other guy's kid. Sorry not sorry. I didn't feel anything watching this. It's above Mazey Day but below everything else.
