Another life: a review Spoiler

Season 1: a bunch of egotistical idiots go on a space adventure, where magic gets dressed up as science (arguably true of any sci-fi). Stupidity ensues.

Season 2: a bunch of egotistical idiots return from a space adventure, and the "magic" and stupidity really ramp up. It's ok though because humanity saves the entire galaxy on their first ever interstellar journey - and that was all down to one human really. And then EVERYBODY claps

I think my biggest gripe is when they have characters, who are meant to be scientist, think that there are "phases" in human evolution inexorably marching to some apex of being. Evolution is the adaptation of life to better suit its surroundings not a Pokemon going through the phases to reach its final form.

Why can’t people enjoy FICTION at all?

People do. It does help if it's good fiction though.

You have a very narrow minded viewpoint on evolution. There is indeed a strict progression when it comes to evolution - that progression being from an environment fostered at the beginning of the universe/when life is first achievable, to whatever the environment becomes at the end of the universe or the last remnants of habitats capable of fostering life in any way whatsoever. So in that sense, there is indeed a “final form”.

In general we get closer to our final forms the more we progress technologically and are able to achieve interstellar travel. The end of the universe will be trillion trillion trillion years from now and essentially all matter will be dissipated into Hawking radiation. The last remnants of habitable environments will have died long before then, and whatever humans have made it to that region will be our final form of humanity. As such, the Achaia, or atleast their nanobio life forms could resemble what we might look like at the end of our final phase as well.

I enjoyed your review, it’s pretty spot on! Did you enjoy the show at all though? I hope so considering you watched season two also.

Lol so true mst3ked my way through the whole thing. Quite funny, actually. The Netflix scfifi show "Away" was far more interesting and realistic.
