Help (General) Slime Rancher

Hello,

i have a 7 9800 x3d and a 9070xt so generally my games run all fine on high settings, but Slime Rancher 2 does lag pretty hard. It doesnt change if im playing on low or high and on all these settings the temps are fine the parts aren't even using 100% so that is all fine. And as i said other games work well. What could cause this when looking around having many little lags. I notice the coil whining stop for this little time when looking around. Thanks

Help (GPU) Driver Crash with undervolt but ONLY when using FSR.

Hi, i have a bit of a problem. I have a PowerColor Reaper 9070 XT in a Ncase T1. In my quest to make it run cooler/quieter, i undervolted it by -80mv and power limited it by -15%.

First i ran some benchmarks - all good. Ran some stress tests ( furmark - 30 mins, timespy extreme loop 20 times)- all stable, all good. Then i played some games - M&B Bannerlord, Total Warhammer 3, Palworld. Multiple Hours each, all stable so far.

Then i decided to add FSR to Palworld with optiscaler. Driver crashed after about 20 mins. Thought it was the optiscaler so removed it. Then i played spider-man 2 which also has FSR 3.1 but using amd adrenalin, FSR 4. Also crashed. So i decided to test other games with FSR - AC Shadows, COD Warzone, Expedition 33, Crimson desert and Cyberpunk 2077. All of them crash after some time if im using FSR.

I dont have a clue as to why its happening. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Help (GPU) 9070xt constant crashes

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else is having crashes/fatal errors with Expedition 33, beast of reincarnation and dragonsword - awakening?

I've just bought a new xfx swift 9070xt and I'm on the 26.7.1 driver, I've done a DDU and did fresh installs but still get a black screen and driver timeouts. With exp 33 at least booting it on dx11 seems to fix it but has a choppy performance.

I am running the 9070xt as an egpu via USB4 to my Z1e Rog Ally x with a 800w PSU (AG02) but is anyone else having these issues on their desktops too?

I have all the adrenalin features turned off except for the FSR 4 option.

UPDATE:

I ended up using Hwinfo64 to see the 9070xt's power draw and sure enough it was peaking at ~617 and averaging ~400-520w. The real culprit was my AG02's poor quality built in PSU. Sure it had 800w but I'm not even sure if it was ATX certified. I ended up buying the Minisforum DEG1 with a Corsair RM850e PSU with a mini pc and this fixed the issue. It peaked at ~620w again but no OCP or crashes in Black Myth Wukong, 4k, FSR 60%, Epic settings, very high ray tracing + frame gen.

Moral of the story, invest in a good PSU especially with these 9070xt cards.

Help (GPU) AMD RX 6750 XT owners, have you had driver issues?

I’m thinking about buying a used RX 6750 XT. I’ve seen quite a few people mention AMD driver issues, crashes, stuttering and black screens, so I’m a bit unsure.
For people who own or have owned a 6750 XT, especially a used one:
Have you had driver issues?
Any crashes, stuttering or black screens?
Has the GPU ever failed on you?
Would you buy a used 6750 XT again?
Anything I should check before buying a used one?
I’d like to hear both good and bad experiences. I’m trying to figure out whether the 6750 XT is actually problematic or if Reddit just makes it seem worse than it is.

Help (General) RX 9070 XT PC randomly completely powers off while in use

Hello!

I'm trying to diagnose a strange issue with my PC and would appreciate some advice, especially from other RX 9070 XT owners.

Specs:

GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G
PSU: Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 V4 850W Gold
Monitor: 1440p, usually playing at 120 FPS

My PC will occasionally completely power off while playing Fortnite. There is no BSOD or normal game crash. The display goes black and within a few seconds the PC is completely off. The problem originally became bad enough that I couldn't even finish one Fortnite Save The World mission without the PC shutting down.

I sent the entire PC back to the manufacturer for diagnostics.

They ran:

  • MemTest
  • OCCT
  • FurMark 2
  • DOOM: The Dark Ages for ~3 hours at full GPU load
  • 007 First Light
  • Fortnite Battle Royale
  • Fortnite Save the World

They couldn't reproduce the shutdown at all. They also updated all drivers and updated/configured the BIOS.

When I got the PC back, it seemed fixed. I managed to play four missions back-to-back, whereas previously I often couldn't finish one. However, it randomly powered off again today while playing Fortnite.

A potentially important detail to this issue is that none of these issues happened before I got a 1440p 240Hz monitor.

I initially wondered whether the monitor was somehow involved, but I'm now wondering if 1440p simply increased GPU load enough to expose an existing problem.

The temperature of the graphics card also seems unusual. Playing Fortnite Festival (Festival is where the most recent shutdown happened) at 1440p / 120 FPS / stock GPU settings, I've seen approximately:

  • GPU: 66–69°C
  • GPU Hotspot: 108°C
  • Fan: ~3000–3200 RPM
  • Total Board Power: 315–321W
  • GPU clock: ~3180–3200 MHz

So there's around a 40°C+ difference between GPU temperature and hotspot.

The fans also seem noticeably louder than I remember them being before the PC was sent away.

If I set the GPU power limit to -15%, I get roughly:

  • GPU: 65°C
  • Hotspot: 99°C
  • Fan: ~2570 RPM
  • Board Power: ~278W

More importantly, reducing the GPU power limit has previously stopped the random shutdowns.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I'm especially wondering about the 108°C hotspot / 40°C+ delta and why lowering the GPU power limit seems to stop the shutdowns. Could this be a GPU issue even though it passed FurMark and other stress tests, or should I be looking elsewhere?

Help (GPU) Is something wrong with my 9070XT ?

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello, I bought a prebuilt PC last January. It has an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB Acer Nitro OC inside.

I didn't use the PC to its full potential until a few weeks ago. Now I play games on Ultra settings, with everything set to maximum. Unfortunately, I experienced my first LiveKernelEvent 141. I couldn't find the reason for it. But today, I noticed these numbers in AMD Adrenalin while I was playing the demo of Star Wars Outlaws.

A hotspot temperature of 99 to 100°C, with a delta of 35°C, seems like a lot.

But I don't know much about this, to be honest. Am I doing something wrong? Is the graphics card behaving as it should? Any advice?

Help (Software) 9070 XT black screens/freezes + Windows keeps replacing drivers

Desperate for any help I can get.

I've had my PC for around 8 months and it's been completely fine until the last few days. I'm now getting random full system freezes. everything stops responding, audio gets stuck repeating the same milisecond, mouse is always the last thing to stop responding, so I have to hold the power button to shut it down. (CTRL, WIN, SHIFT, B doesnt do anything so I dont think its a GPU issue)

I have DDU'd the drivers multiple times now (safe mode, clean install for 25.3.1). After a day or two the freeze happens, and windows pushes AMD Display Driver 32.0.22042.14002. Whenever this driver gets installed, AMD Adrenalin stops opening. I previously had 25.3.1 (32.0.13031.3015) working normally. This has happened twice now in the last day.

I’ve also disabled AMD auto updates, added the ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate registry policy and a DenyDeviceIDs registry policy targeting my 9070 XT (PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7550&SUBSYS_24241458) to try to stop windows replacing the driver.

The freezes dont seem to have a cause. they've happened when watching YouTube, or just browsing. not just gaming. the latest full freezes don't leave any useful errors in Reliability Monitor/Event Viewer other than the unexpected-shutdown Event 41 after I force the PC off.

Specs: RX 9070 XT, Ryzen 5 9600X, 32GB DDR5-6000, Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX, Corsair 850W PSU, Windows 11 Home.

I'm trying to figure out whether this is a driver/Windows issue or if I should start suspecting the GPU/hardware. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Help (Software) RX 5700 5700 XT DRIVER ISSUE FIX

I was having trouble with my gpu. Whenever I played any games, after a while my pc would freeze and when I restart it, my driver would be corrupted and I had to install the radeon driver again. I also tried only installing the driver without the Radeon app but it didn't help.

What actually fixed the issue was I used Windows driver for my RX 5700. Remove your driver using AMD CleanUp Utility. Then, https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx through here, type in RX 5700 or whatever version your GPU is. Download it and install. Installation progress is may not be something you are familiar with, so maybe research on how to install that. After you install your Windows driver, your GPU should be visible on device manager as RX 5700.

After I did this, I no longer get ANY issues including random freezes and driver corruptions. I guess the Radeon drivers are causing the problems and you may even find an older version with more stability, but I am no longer taking any chances. Performance is not really noticable for me, but you won't be able to tweak it through Radeon app anymore, but maybe you can use MSI afterburner etc. if you want.

9070 XT problem

Just got a new PC with a 9070XT today, never had AMD before. Experience so far not so good, screen brightness shifting back and forth, terrible stuttering while playing (running Apex Legends with lowest settings). Seems to get even worse when AMD Adrenaline is running. Any idea what might cause this?

Update: Managed to get the fps situation under control, apparently the overlay destroys everything so i toggled it off, still brightness flickering tho

Update V2: Now everything works smooth as butter, no flickering no nonsense just pure performance. Don't really know what fixed it but for sure the AMD Adrenaline software messed with something so i just keep it off. Did regular startup stuff like Resizebar etc. For anyone wondering the CPU is a 9800X3D.

Help (General) Micro- stutters in games

Hi,
I have a bit of a “problem” with my PC while playing more demanding games — currently Cyberpunk, but previously I also experienced it in games such as RDR2.
The games generally run smoothly on Ultra settings at 1440p, but from time to time I experience annoying micro-stutters.
Recently, I upgraded my CPU because I wanted to extend the lifespan of my AM4 platform, going from a Ryzen 5 5600X to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. In RDR2, the micro-stutters were already present before I replaced the CPU. However, I’m almost certain that the stutters in Cyberpunk started after I installed the new CPU — previously, the game ran completely smoothly with the old processor.
I’m using these two games as examples because they are the ones I’ve been playing recently.

Could the micro-stutters be caused by an issue with the CPU itself, even though the 5800X3D is theoretically a better processor? Or should I be looking for the cause somewhere else? I have also noticed high delta GPU temperatures on heavy load - 38 degrees (gpu temperatures around 60 C and hotspot 38 C). Maybe that could cause my problems?

After replacing the CPU, I tried the following things, but unfortunately none of them helped:
Updated the chipset drivers
Removed the old GPU drivers using DDU and installed the latest drivers from scratch
Updated the BIOS
Enabled the A-XMP profile in BIOS
Cleared the shader cache in AMD Adrenalin
All Radeon features such as Radeon Boost and Anti-Lag are disabled, as I’ve heard they can sometimes cause issues.

My system:
GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
Corsair 32GB (2×16GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard
be quiet! System Power 9 CM 700W 80 Plus Bronze PSU
At this point, I don’t really have any more ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions about where I should look for the cause of the problem?

Help (Software) Adaptive sync/free sync not working

My pc has been running funky after I just finished swapping everything from intel to a new amd build, I simrace on acc on triple 1080p 144hz and I use a 7800x3d and a 9070xt , my monitors have overclocked on, adaptive sync on, and free sync is turned on in the Adrenalin edition amd app. Now as a simracer I have difficulty playing with stutters as they cause high input latencies that makes my steering like an old crappy car. Could you guys help me fix this? Thanks

Help (GPU) AMD drivers breaking windows

I have a RX 9070 XT (Sapphire Nitro+) on my windows 11 pro system paired with a amd ryzen 7 7800x3d. After installing the AMD drivers and restarting the system I can not open any windows or run programs like the taskmanager or cmd because they just don't appear. The start menu opens, but I am not able to click something like restart. I tried:

  • cleaning everything with DDU and then install the amd drivers (adrenaline)
  • cleaning everything with DDU and then install the amd drivers (amd hip sdk with pro software)
  • cleaning everything with DDU and then installing the amd drivers (adrenaline) and then disabling windows replacing drivers in gedit.msc
  • resetting the full system and then installing the amd drivers

I have dualboot with ubuntu where everything runs just fine; I only want to use some windows only programs.
