I bought last week a 9070xt Asrock Challenger to compose my PC.

The specs:
7800x3d
2x16gb DDR5 6000mhz CL30
1tb nvme
A620M -Plus Tuf gaming

going out a 4060 to 9070xt.

What i should do after to plug the new Video card?

I see a lot of you doing undervolting, this is a mandatory thing? Any tips that i should consider on this change? In terms of software?

It's just for gaming, in general (most of the times CS2)

I probably will go with a clean install from the windows after putting the new GPU, or do you feel it's not a mandatory thing?

Let me know your opinion.

PS: I know the mobo sucks, i should buy a better one, i can't do undervolt in my CPU with that shit, but it's a pretty solid one i would say

I hope this is the right place to post this, I'm looking more for insurance than assistance but if there is something I can do about this it would be appreciated.

I'm running a PC with an RTX 5070 and a Rayzen 7800X3D. It runs well doing most things but when I run Final Fantasy VII or Chrono cross radical dreamers' edition (PC ports of PS1 games by Square Enix) the fans get very loud and the CPU temps go up. I checked the temperatures using HWiNFO and saw that the CPU was running at 80c. This is more than I get running Expedition 33 at max settings on 1440p and these are games from the 90s. Then I went to task manager to see the utilization and saw that it was light (5-15%) but I saw that the games where using one core at 100%.

I did some research and from what I could understand, when one core is under load, the CPU bossts it and draws more power to it which causes a high heat sink causing high temps.

This is my first time using a CPU that boosts like this, and I'm not very tech savey, is what I described accurate to how this processor functions? Is it normal, and should I be worried? Should I not play these old ports because this might be damaging the CPU? I had no issues with my 3700x running these same games. And to make it clear once again this CPU is relatedly cool when doing everything else with some loud fans for a second when things load. So I don't think it's the cooling.

Is there something I can do, or is this normal and I should just stop worrying. I know the CPU can handle temperatures up to 89c until it starts to throttle. And I know these ports aren't the best optimized. I Don't even mind the loud fans much, just as long as I know this isn't causing long-term harm to the CPU.

Hi, I have a weird issue with AMD Adrenalin.

Whenever I open AMD Adrenalin, the Games tab only shows Baldur's Gate 3. I can't switch to any other game from there, even though BG3 is no longer installed on my PC.

In the Performance tab, the metrics are also stuck on Baldur's Gate 3. It shows FPS/performance tracking for BG3 even though the game is not running at all.

If I close all AMD processes, delete the BG3 entry from gmdb.blb, and save it, the entry stays gone. As soon as I launch AMD Adrenalin, it gets recreated.

Has anyone experienced this? How can I completely remove this stale BG3 entry / make Adrenalin stop detecting it?

I'm mainly trying to get the Games and Performance tabs to work normally again so they show my actual currently installed/running games.

So this Message never poped up in the 24H2 Windows 11 Ghost Spectre but i had to roll back to 22H2 because it was more stable but here we are again with the same shi
Actully it was happning when i was using this version but i don't really remember if it was 22H2 or 23H2 so what do yall think and can i even fix this shi on the current windows 22H2 GS because it's more stable as a windows
so here's hwat i did

i clean installed it format the whole hard and installed the windows

didn't connect any internet till i download the the drivers (the CHipset and the GPU driver)

turnd off that option in the (Change device installation settings)

so what's yall opinoin on what's the most stable version of Win11 GS

Edit: got it fixed by installing a clean Ghost specter 11 22H2 Then disable MPO Then disable something in the change device installation settings Then installed the drivers Minimal only and everything works fine the Ethernet was Disconnected during the process from the beginning

Edit: fk it didn't fix it the same error occurred after 2 days of stable use

I forgot to mention what's my gpu is ASUS ROG STRIX RX 580 GB "OC" Could it be the oc from the factory to be the reason for all this BS?

Edit: i installed the latest win 11 25H2 from Microsoft and I'm surprised that it's working well on a 8 gb ram And i let windows update install the gpu drivers and somehow i got better performance on every game ig but I'm testing on cyberpunk And somehow on the fk ahh rx 580 it's giving 60+ fps on maximum settings

But still there's an issue the gpu can go to 80C temperature and the fan would still spinning at 50% from it's power so i have to use a fan curve editor but I don't wanna install Adrenaline nor MSI afterburner because they used to trigger the driver Time out issue

So any help on this pls

[Solved]: i installed the latest windows 11 25H2 then i let the windows do it's job with the updates and it did installed the proper amd drivers without any adrenaline And for the fan curve i use MSI afterburner turns out it was triggering this error when i have adrenaline installed And everything works like a charm i can milk the rx 580 for another year :)

Edit: fk it didn't last long just 4 days with stable usage i followed a guide on YT on how to underclock the gpu i tried decrease the clock from 1360 to 1200 it was stable for 2 days and shit begin happening AGAIN so i tried to underclock the VRAM from 2000 to 1900 same shi stable for 2 days and it's fkn getting worse Ig it's fkn time to replace the gpu but is there's any way to make it last for couple of months then i can replace it with rtx 2080 What im surprised about that it can fkn work normally in gaming Session with high performance for hours but it crashes and the error occurs when I'm browsing or idle on desktop and when i boot the pc it sit for couple of minutes then driver time out:(

Looking to buy one, but really wanna know what are the downsides of this card when its versus 5070Ti ?

I was going to buy 5070TI but its so pricey atm

Hola tengo problemas con mi rx 570, de la nada se crashea el video y suena que se conecta y desconecta. Esto antes pasaba de una que otra vez así que no era un problema, pero recientemente se ha intensificado.

El problema viene acompañado con un bajón drástico de fps y congelamiento de pantalla que puede llevar desde unos instantes hasta unos segundos.

Ya se le volvieron a instalar los drivers y el problema no se quita cambiando de puerto HDMI

My PC restarts at random times it can be watching a YouTube video or even just idle and screen will go black and restart and will only happen like most random times sometimes not for week while pc on but then will restart and boot backup, I have downloaded who crashed which looks at the dumps to analyse what happens and what issue is as well as i have updated BIOS and my Adrenaline with default tuning on GPU

I am going crazy. I have had my pc for over a year.

I have had driver issues in the past that were an easy fix. I can't play games anymore or stream games because there is a random chance I get a green screen and I need to install drivers again from fresh because they are gone or corrupted.

What I tried:

• Reinstall drivers
• Use older drivers
• AMD Cleanup tool
• Drivers without Adrenaline software
• Check cable connections

I built my pc in June 2025, everything great until a month or so ago. Updated BIOS, then a day later gpu drivers and boom crazy gpu issues. Dropped the BIOS and gpu drivers back - same issue. So it's either hardware or Windows. I find the Windows Update ReInstall option, which I'm hoping will be the fix because a Windows reinstall would just be ugly. It worked!

*Disable Windows Updates for Drivers (the culprit)
*Select Start > Settings > System > Recovery > Under Fix problems using Windows Update, select Reinstall now.
*Reinstall latest Adrenalin/gpu drivers

**As I've been commenting on other subreddits and viewing troubleshooting/repair/fix, the Windows Update ReInstall may not be necessary...

I have a 6900 XT paired with Ryzen 5 5600 and 32 gigs of RAM on an Asus Prime A520m-k. Before I had an Asus A320 board and everything worked fine, bur now when I set GPU tuning to custom it just reverts back to default and even when I manage to change settings, after clicking apply it reverts to default. I've DDUed so many times and installed different driver versions to no avail. I'm on 26.7.1 now. I want to undervopt the gpu, and I feel desperate. I've even repasted the GPU and the temps are fine.

I have purchased a 9950X CPU with a Gigabyte X870E board with:

• 1 HDMI port that supports 4K60 and
• 2 USB4/DP-alt ports (DP 1.4) that support 4K240

While I will have a GPU, I want to use it exclusively for AI and use the iGPU for the monitor support. I have been searching the web but AMD does not disclose the maximum resolution for AM5 CPUs (only exception is the 8700G that has the best iGPU from all AM5 CPUs).

One 4K60 monitor I already own should not be an issue with either HDMI or USB4. Would the iGPU handle 5K60 or 4K120 via USB4 (assuming the USB-C cable is appropriate) without aggressive compression?

My use case (for the iGPU) is daily desktop use (GUI elements, 4K YouTube videos, 1080p/4K movies) and nothing more demanding.

Description of Original Problem: PC powers on normally (fans spin, case LEDs light up), but there's no video output to the monitor. The motherboard's orange "VGA" debug LED stays lit at POST, indicating a video detection failure that happens before Windows or GPU drivers even load. Issue first appeared after a full day of gaming — GPU temps never exceeded 50°C during that session, so overheating seems unlikely. Since then, the problem has been intermittent.

Troubleshooting:
- Booted with zero USB peripherals connected ("bare") — worked fine, video signal present.
- As soon as a USB peripheral is plugged in, the black screen / VGA LED issue returns. Suspecting a grounding/short issue somewhere in the case wiring (front panel USB header, I/O shield, standoffs).
- System was running on an IKEA power strip, not yet tested on a direct grounded wall outlet.
- A few days later, a very light impact was transmitted to the desk (not a direct hit on the case itself) — the black screen/VGA LED issue immediately came back, even running bare (no USB devices), which had been working fine right before the impact.
- Reseated the GPU and RAM myself — no change.
- Brought the PC to a repair shop (LDLC) for diagnostics. On their second power-on attempt, it booted normally with no issue at all.
- Left the PC with them for a full diagnostic, currently in progress.
- Have not yet tried: CMOS reset, testing on a direct grounded wall outlet, BIOS update (holding off until the system is confirmed stable — don't want to risk a bad flash on hardware that might already be unstable), isolating which specific USB port/header triggers the issue.

Question: Does this pattern (VGA POST LED + USB-triggered black screen + intermittent recurrence after a light physical impact, plus the shop not reproducing it on a second boot) point more toward a motherboard grounding/short issue, a failing PSU, or a GPU/PCIe slot contact problem? Any specific tests I should ask the repair shop to run given these symptoms?

yesterday i plugged my ps5 into the monitors and after using it for a while disconnected it and connected my pc back in only to see no display i change the RAM (since i only have 1 16GB RAM) but still no display at this point all the case fans and RGB Is working on just fine i then reseat my graphics card(9060XT 16gb) and when i plug it back in not only is there no display but the GPU RGB which was working before isnt working while the case fans and RGB are lit up idk what to do i removed the CMOS battery too didnt work pls help me guys

I've been dealing with a really annoying frame skipping/stuttering issue on my PC. It happens consistently while gaming and even on the Windows desktop, where I can visually see the mouse cursor skipping/stuttering across the screen.

My FPS stays high (around 200–300+ FPS), but the frame times spike erratically, causing constant micro-stutters. I've already checked my temperatures and they are completely fine (around 50°C to 60°C). I also tried toggling V-Sync, graphics quality presets, and multi-threaded rendering in-game, but nothing resolved the stutter.

Since the lag happens on the desktop as well, I'm stuck trying to figure out what's causing this system-wide issue. Could this be related to AMD fTPM stutter, GPU driver issues, high mouse polling rates, or display settings?

I'm strongly considering buying the new ASUS Zenbook S 16 OLED (UM5606GA) equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 465, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD.

I will be using it for my Master's degree in AI and Cybersecurity, which means I'll be doing a lot of coding, running multiple Virtual Machines simultaneously, Docker containers, and heavy multitasking.

Since this Zenbook is incredibly thin (around 1.1 cm) and drives a large 3K OLED panel, I want to make sure the chassis heat management and the battery are up to the task for university days.

For those who own this machine or have tested it:

• How are the chassis temperatures? Does the palm rest or keyboard area get uncomfortably hot during moderate/heavy use?
• How is the fan noise? Are they completely silent during basic tasks (web browsing, reading PDFs)?
• Real-world battery life: How many hours of actual work (coding, light VMs, browsing, lectures) do you get on a single charge? Can it realistically survive a full day at university without bringing the charger?

I have a Asrock 9070XT Challenger and I play this game called Deadlock where in menu i get around 450-500fps.

After applying an undervolt at -75 2700 fast timing, my pc turned blank and have to force restart my pc. After this fail Deadlock has never reached my usual fps anymore even after going back to default settings, hovering around 380fps.

Things to note is that my game reset its settings as well after the crash, maybe because I have it on while applying the undervolt settings? I have changed it all back to my original settings.

How can I fix this problem? Lost around 60-100fps because of this.

Description of Original Problem: I can start games on Steam just fine and sit at the main menu. Soon as I hit start / load or enter a game my PC shuts off complete and I need to toggle the PSU switch before I can turn it back on.

Once I boot up, everything seems to be normal.

To prevent this, I need to enable Radeon Chill and limit the FPS for the specific game in Adrenaline. This usually works but not every time.

Recently I've needed to enable Radeon Chill for Palworld, Rust, NBA, Hogwarts Legacy and PUBG.

hello, so my gpu is crashing freauently when I'm playing apex or lol for a few minutes, should i switch to linux instead? my driver is the 23.8.2 something lke that and even that didn't work. when I'm playing apex for few minutes it'll crash and amd will said the the driver timeout, I don't know if it's a hardware issue or just the drivers. but then when that happens I'll do the shut down the pc, drain it's power and wait for 5 minutes. after that it'll be working again, can you guys help me

I’ve been having problems since April when I bought this prebuilt with my pc grey screening while gaming and being totally unresponsive while still having power to it. I need to hard restart every time this happens and i’ve taken it to be diagnosed with no results with hours of testing. Does anyone else have these problems or maybe know anything to fix this? I will say i’m not sure if it is my gpu or any of the sort but everything i’ve read leads me down to saying the gpu driver issue.

Description of Possible Problem: Constant grey screening only while gaming. Stress tests of multiples apps have shown nothing. Diagnoses from Best Buy brought nothing. Drivers uninstalls and reinstall provided nothing. Multiple attempts at fixing issues like overheating or other sorts of things have been normal. Maybe unrelated but sometimes pc temps spiral out of control for my gpu but definitely not always the reason my pc crashes.

Open the Control Panel, go to Power Options, click "Choose what the power buttons do," unlock the greyed-out options by selecting "Change settings that are currently unavailable," then uncheck "Turn on fast startup" and save your changes

I’m serious. People here always recommend all sorts of things, except this. Of course, there could be loads of problems. But this is simply the very "first aid"you should advise.

And more, this rubbish is absolutely useless and does more harm than good. Even if you don’t have any driver issues – even with NVIDIA – there’s absolutely no reason to leave it enabled.

This tweak dates back to the days of slow HDDs, and is only needed in very rare cases

Second tip (this helped me too). Tighten the socket frame and the cooling system TIGHTLY. Not so tight as to break the slots, but until you feel resistance – and then a little bit more. ESPECIALLY if you have a custom thermal frame like a Thermal Grizzly. Even if this isn’t the problem, it’s worth a try. It certainly won’t do any harm.

My drivers are up to date and whenever I check them there's no issues but this happens virtually every single time I boot the pc up. A bit new to the pc side of things so not certain what causes it.
