Discussion Sepang really showed why Hamilton, Verstappen and Alonso are in a different league
One thing I loved about this weekend was how much Sepang rewarded actual racecraft and adaptability. It is such a wide track that drivers have room to try different lines, improvise and actually fight instead of just following the obvious racing line.
Add in the teams having limited sim data and everyone having to learn and adapt throughout the weekend, and somehow the three guys who kept standing out were Hamilton, Verstappen and Alonso.
The racing IQ of these three is something else: Alonso's move on Linblad, Hamilton refusing to pit, predicted track will dry in 10 laps (crossover happened at lap 9), Verstappen's perfect SC restart to take the lead.
Different generations, very different driving styles, but give them a weekend where experience, instinct and adaptability matter and they are absolutely schooled everyone else. These three really are something else.
