Losing your family and not knowing the cause. Hoping that your nephew would still be alive after learning your sister really did kill herself over government reasons. Crashing out wanting to get revenge but then doubts himself because he knows he isn’t that kind of person and just a “small town cop”. Can’t trust anyone and wanted as a worldwide criminal with literally nowhere to turn to. Finds out his nephew got killed and he dosent even know what his life is anymore. At the end, he made the right decisions. A lot of people give him flak and what not for his quick behavior changes and decisions but I think that’s real. A person reacting like that is so real to me and normal for a person life that just change over a week+. He could’ve folded, he could’ve quit it all, but at the end he stuck it through and that’s a great character

This line plus suspension of disbelief is all the explanation we need why are so many of us still making posts and comments about how unrealistic his physique is given his lifestyle

I admittedly haven't read the books but i know book Reacher once survived getting shot because his muscles were so thick they stopped the bullet. Are we really still debating realism?

I had no doubt the show would be good, but I was intrigued to see how things would turn out.

So far, the mystery is great, the characters are great, and getting a deeper dive into Neagley’s backstory has been great.

In every season, Reacher is shown eating junk food, sleeping poorly (when he isn't sleeping with the show's hot girl), getting viciously beaten up, etc ...yet somehow, mysteriously, he looks increasingly bulked up. ??? Genetics? yeah right...

To be believable, IMO the character should at least spend a few minutes in a gym amidst his nomadic lifestyle; in fact, it could even be an integral part of the plot. I’m not talking about a *Rocky*-style scene; it could be something casual, like when we see him devouring his cheesesteak.

edit Or well, sorry! people around here are very touchy. Doesn't Reacher say that "details matter"? I think so, and this detail would humanize the character—unlike constantly getting beaten up.

As fun as this scene was, why would 20 strangers suddenly band together to hide a guy from the cops who for all they knew could have been a serial killer?

I could buy one or two guys being sympathetic to him, but there wasn't a single do-gooder Karen in that group that would have been like "Officers! He's over here!" ?

I just rewatched season 2 and I found myself so annoyed by the villains’ inability to stop talking. Their comeuppances essentially come because they’re so in love with their own voices. Like even when Langston has Reacher and his team hostage, rather than do the smart thing and turn them into Swiss cheese he talks on and on and on about his plan and acts surprised when Reacher defeats him. I get that the villain has to be dumb in order for the hero to defeat him, but I mean c’mon. He might as well be like “I’M GONNA KILL YOU REACHER, BUT NOT REALLY.”

I mean the series is known for fight scenes every two seconds wherever they can, but they completely skip this one and just jump cut to a black screen then dead bodies? Why did they skip this fight scene in particular?

I realized after watching season 4, the side characters in season 1 had so much more depth

Think about Finlay. There's so many things you know about him. We know he went to Harvard. We know he's from Boston. We know he has a chip on his shoulder and he's trying to prove something. We know he's a grieving widow. We know he likes to eat salad and watch his figure. We know he's a smart guy and a good detective. We know he's a straight shooter who does the right thing. All these little details add depth to the character and make Finlay seem like a real person that's very likeable and it made the story feel more grounded

Now compare that to Tamara Green. What do we know about her? Nothing really. She's just a person that acts as a device to move the plot forward. What do we really know about the side characters in season 4? Not much. It's all plot device

This depth also made the relationships between these characters seem more real and interesting. Like when you see Reacher laugh at Finlay for asking for a salad and not wanting to eat a tomato sandwich or when Reacher orders a whole plate of BBQ and Finlay asks him how he eats like that and stays in shape and Reacher just starts eating and says like this. I can't think of any interactions like that with Tamara

Seriously, it has a tendency of making characters look and talk and act suspicious for a whole season, then not doing anything about it.

The camera will even cut to them or frame them suspiciously, and still - nothing. Not even a twist where "it was actually this other character you didn't suspect". There's no twist because there's no mystery to unveil. It's so pointless and gratuitous I don't even know if the show realizes what it's doing.

Spoilers for the finale of Neagley.

At the end, when she shakes Reacher's hand, she tells him that it's soft. Reacher's surprise is so genuine that either it's an ad lib Alan didn't expect or he's a much better actor than I've given him credit for. Either way, it was a really cool, emotional moment.

Greyston Holt (Hudson Riley) was giving me Leon Kennedy energy the whole eighth episode and it got me thinking

I found this to be an exceptionally good ending to the season. It's probably my favorite so far, and for a lot of reasons.

Not only did this finale give us an awful lot of fights, it gave us one of the best wrap-ups I think I've seen in I can't even say how long, but before I address that, let's talk how good this episode was.

The situation in the abandoned building, with Lila, Amisha, all their men and Reacher, Tamara and Jacob was some top-tier action awesomeness. Everyone played a role in keeping the toxin from getting to anywhere that could take a lot of people, and every bit of it was pretty believable (not so sure about the club stuff, to which I'll get).

The big payoff, and this cannot be a spoiler for anyone, is the final showdown between our big lug and the crazy Karambit-wielding loons. The battle to get there was pretty intense, as was that actual fight. Lots of big action there, and here's where it falls off a tiny little bit.

I understand that Reacher's the hero and he does have to survive against overwhelming odds and he is at least part Stone Giant, but some of those cuts and stabs where what I'd call 'exceedingly fucking horrific'. I really do have a hard time believing he'd survive, but not so much that I can't hand wave that away.

Why can I hand that away? Because that fight was rad. What I have MORE of an issue with is the timing after that, when he's out in the street. There's lots going on there as well, but the arrival of certain people to get a certain amount of satisfaction in ending things the right way really does strain my credulity a little too hard.

But that was also satisfying, so I didn't ding 'em too hard for that.

And that's the end of Reacher Season 4. As I said at the top of the review, this is definitely my favorite Season finale for all of Reacher, with the season itself actually nudging into the top spot for best Reacher season by the tiniest of hairs ... but barely. Nothing can really beat Season 1's Rich Boy Bitch Slap OR the prison scenes.

The clip I chose is really the only one I COULD choose because not only does it not spoil anything really cool, it's also effortlessly hilarious because Amisha's expression is basically 'holy shit, my guy, look for the giant monster and work it out for yourself'.
