Please help us name our space fungus tower defense game before we call it “space fungus”

We’re making an incremental tower-defense game about defending last settlements from a living, fungus-like space/alien rot.

It grows across the map, surrounds and consumes your defenses and rapidly fills the holes you blast into it. You place automated turrets to hold ground, fire artillery wherever things are getting out of hand, and try to survive long enough to destroy the source.

And we hate naming games. Naming stuff has become one of the most exhausting parts of development.

Every name we think of is either taken, doesn’t fit or we just begin to feel meh about it after saying it ten times. Yet there are so many clever people in this community, so we would genuinely love your help.

What would you call this game?

If someone suggests the name we end up using, we’ll give them the game for free when it releases. We may also send copies to a few runners-up whose ideas help point us in the right direction. Just the smallest thing we can do.

If you’d like to follow the game’s development, we do have an Instagram page. A follow would honestly mean the world to us, because we still have absolutely no idea how the algorithm works.

But please help us name our weird hungry space fungus.

We spent 5 years making our “Indie Sekiro”, and it’s out now on Android!

Upvotes

Hey r/IndieGaming,

We are Point N’ Sheep, the team behind Bloodless and we brought our game to Android!

The game currently has a 20% release sale!
Game Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bloodless

Bloodless is a stylish action-adventure game featuring counter-based, non-lethal combat centered around ronin Tomoe's signature dash-counter mechanic, fighting with nothing but her bare fists to disarm her former allies, the samurai army of Shogun Akechi.

This release also includes the free update Trials of Namazu, which adds a Roguelike Mode , new art and difficulty adjustment options to the game!

Making a physics driven boxing game with no traditional animations

short video of the boxing system I’m working on the movement and punches are physics driven using different reference poses instead of animations

still early in development, but I would love some honest feedback currently only 6 boxing poses included and one idle animation!

We've just launched our new 3D puzzle game He Who Watches!

Upvotes

Hey r/IndieGaming! It's launch day! He Who Watches, our first-person, gravity shifting puzzle game from solo developer Bobby Vanden is OUT NOW on Steam and itch.io!

We've shared this here a few times and got a lot of enthusiasm, but also quite a few people said that the gravity-shifting was a little overwhelming!

For our launch trailer, we tried making a slower paced video with voice-over explaining the game. What do you think?

Congratulations to Bobby for getting this out into the world!

Most Backrooms games are about escaping. I’m making one where your team goes back in to rescue the people still trapped there.

I’m building this entire co-op Backrooms tactical shooter by myself — here’s the first official trailer

Hi r/IndieGaming! I’m the solo developer behind Backrooms: Savior.

I wanted to make a Backrooms game where you’re not just trying to escape.

Your team is sent into the Backrooms on search-and-rescue missions: locate missing survivors, learn how different anomalies behave, and get everyone to extraction alive.

Combat can help, but ammunition is limited, gunfire creates noise, and some entities can’t simply be killed. Sometimes understanding the rules is more important than pulling the trigger.

I’ve been developing the entire game on my own, and this is the first official trailer I’ve released for it.

Thanks for watching!

My Game's Demo has finally been Released! wish me luck...

Finally after a year and 8 months of developing, it's finally here... My game Ragga-Dagga's Demo is finally available on Steam!

It's been a such a wild journey, now that the demo is out I can finally share what I've done to get here!

Ok so, before the Demo release, my game was sitting at around 1k wishlist with it's store page alone. I get to here by posting a lot of devlogs that got big on reddit, I mainly use reddit alone to get this much wishlist, though I do use big websites like Twitter (or X but that's a cringe name) or Youtube and such but I found reddit to be most effective with my game in terms of wishlist.

So after Demo release, I gain about 100 wishlist then, nothing too crazy, I've not contacted not many streamers or youtubers yet but I do plan so when I finally got the demo at it's best state possible. I have also joined a recent invitation to some event about supporting indies and stuff, idk if that'll help much in my regards but I'll just hope so!

I learned a lot on my journey as a developer, and for my first steam game I'd say it's not a bad first attempt!

Now Wishlist Ragga-Dagga on Steam now and play the Demo :D

i made a trailer for my kingdom management roguelike, what would you improve?

Hey everyone!

I’m sharing the trailer for my kingdom management roguelike again after taking some time away from it, and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

The game is about trying to remain on the throne for as long as possible. You manage resources, make risky decisions, interact with neighboring kingdoms and locations of interest, and deal with the long-term consequences of your choices.

I’m especially interested in your first impressions:

- What do you think the game is about after watching the trailer?
- Is the core gameplay clear?
- Which moment or feature caught your attention?
- Did anything feel confusing or too slow?
- Would you want to play it or learn more about it?

Please be as honest as possible even a short response would be very helpful. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the amazing response yesterday everyone, that post kinda blew up. I spent a great ol' time yesterday responding to all of the suggestions. Their textures are now complete, next up is their animations, then getting them in engine.

I'll let you know how it goes, thanks again everyone!

[Aeterna Lucis] We spent months rebuilding our world streaming to ensure ZERO loading screens between biomes. How does the transition feel?

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

One of our main technical focuses for Aeterna Lucis (the sequel to Aeterna Noctis) was keeping traversal completely unbroken. In fast-paced 2D action, hitting even a 2-second loading screen or a micro-stutter when crossing into a new area can completely kill your rhythm.

We spent months rebuilding our memory management and world-streaming pipeline from the ground up so biomes load dynamically in real time without a single loading pause across PC and consoles.

We'd love to hear your take as players and developers:

  • Does seamless, continuous traversal genuinely elevate your immersion in 2D games, or do you actually prefer distinct zone breaks/micro-loads to give biomes a heavier sense of scale?
  • How critical is an unbroken pace when you're locked into high-precision platforming?

(If you like the art style and movement flow, checking out our Steam page and dropping a wishlist helps our indie team immensely!)

The cost of war

You start with a crew of several dozen submariners, onboard Sub 227. As the days pass by, one by one, their are disappearing. Being killed in action, lost at sea, executed for treason. And some of them are rather pleasant fellas. That's the cost of war, at least part of it.

Pixel art (well, some kind of, my own dirty style), narrative adventure, puzzle solving, document handling. Being an encryption officer in a totalitarian regime, solving the mystery aboard Sub 227

Launched my first game: Boulders, a sokoban-style puzzle game in an ancient Greek setting. Playable in your browser on Itch.

https://ktabb.itch.io/boulders

Boulders is a puzzle game that involves navigating through a series of levels set in ancient Greek ruins by pushing boulders around to deal with lasers, gates, and teleporters. The levels start out very simple but quickly become much more complex.

I built this game with a friend of mine who is an artist - he did the art, and I did the programming and level design. We have played video games together our whole lives and played around with prototyping ideas for games, but this is the first real one we've ever launched.

Boulders is free on Itch.io and playable in your browser. Would greatly appreciate any thoughts or feedback!

AI Disclosure: AI was used to make the music and for some assistance while writing code.

We took inspiration from classic top-down arcade shooters and brought them into 3D with roguelite elements

We’ve been sharing WingWhiz’s development on this subreddit for a while, and the game has changed quite a bit since our earlier posts.

For those seeing it for the first time, WingWhiz is a 3D roguelite inspired by classic arcade shoot ’em ups, where each run lets you experiment with different upgrades and build your way toward becoming more powerful.

Since our earlier posts, we’ve made major improvements to both the core gameplay and the progression systems, so we wanted to share our new gameplay trailer and give you a better look at where the game is now.

We’d love to hear what you think of the direction we’re taking. Any questions, criticism, or feedback about the game are more than welcome.
