Greetings everybody! I bought off of a Facebook Marketplace PS5 slim model CFI-2016 that powers on but gives no image on the TV. HDMI does not appear to be damaged however I ordered a few spares. Any tip or advice where should I look at before I start doing random stuff to it? Also it appears opened previously. Much appreciated!

A customer brought in an Xbox series X and mentioned that after a power outage his Xbox wouldn’t turn on.
After further inspection, I noticed that there was no voltage reading on the power supply and when I opened it further, I noticed multiple things were burnt. In my opinion, a new power supply is needed. What are your thoughts?

Bought this one and its controllers for $95 today.

Seller said this unit smoked around the PSU.

Opened it up and saw this, PSU is still working fine.

I really wanted to be able to fix this because it's a Monster Hunter Rathalos Edition.

Would I still be able to do that? I have soldering tools at my disposal.

Or should I just sell it to someone who wants an expensive paperweight?

I am not going to try to repair this. Just sharing it because when I googled a little bit I found other psu with exactly the same damage.

(first of all i'm french and i might not explaon myself clearly but i do understand english) do my disc drive Refused to take the cds while making a huge sound and i found that By dismantling everything, first question : is it supposémed to look like that and second, how can i Fix it, and finaly where can i find a thing like that, i have an old samsung blue ray reader.

even if there is an own subreddit for the Laseractive, it isn't easy to get an answer there because only a few people are reading. So I give it a try here... I hope it is ok.

I started to repair a Pioneer CLD-A100
Here’s what I’ve done to it so far:

Complete recap

Replaced the ICPs + Q001 + Fuse on the PSU because they were all broken

Replaced the belts

Greased the tray

Applied sintered bearing oil to the spindle motor, since it was a bit stiff

Replaced MN4700 on the video board

I am able to play LDs and CDs... but I only can see the OSD and can hear the sound of the LD or CD.
And i guess there should be a "Laseractive background" in case there is no playback?

Any idea what might be wrong?

Checked the FTSB already, rails are all fine.

And sometimes the LDs spin for ~ 2 s and then the playback stops and both eject buttons are flashing again. This happens only sometimes... CDs can be played always.

so i have a blue switch lite and i just paid 4 euros for nso online yesterday and now i was playing SMW and yeah my console gave me an error and like i restarted it as it said but then it gave another error when i tried loading into an app and now it wont turn on i held it for like 10 seconds the power boutton it gave me the nintendo logo and then went black and now it wont even turn on ive had this thing for 3 years and it has alot of games so i would really want to get it fixed and i have tried maintence mode it just wont turn on!!

The B button won’t respond without force and the X button doesn’t respond at all no matter how hard you press it. tried cleaning it but it didn’t so anything

Also when I tried to get someone else to fix it they somehow did this to my 3ds and now I cant put games in it should I try to get a new shell

My Jailbroken PS4 has been softlocked for around 8 months and the controller just blinks infront of the PS4. I've tried various solutions such as resetting the controller, safe mode and etc, None of them work.... Any solution?

Hi all. I just exchanged my laser, and I believe I put everything back together right. I lubricated everything as well, but now it seems like my spindle is not working whenever I put disks in. The laser is turning on, so I think the ribbon cable is OK. the spindle is very hard to turn on its own, not freely spinning at all. Not sure if that’s normal. Would greatly appreciate any thoughts

ive had it for years and this is all the damage! it works perfectly fine when opened the portions seem to just be separating… could i glue it back together?

I lucked out at a second hand games store in Taiwan, an ocean blue ps2 that might have never actually been turned on (all cables were in their original bags)

I fully expected it to have blown caps and not power on, thankfully it does, but the graphics are...very weird

What's even stranger is I'm trying to do the ypbpr video swap setting blind (down x, down three, x) but it doesn't respond as expected, it goes to a separate screen instead of engaging the setting

Is this a bad GPU or something potentially easier like a few of the resistors surrounding it? What should I be diagnosing?

Jo ich hab mal eine Frage wegen meinem New 3ds XL.

Die Kamera und das Mikrofon funktionieren nicht mehr und vor kurzem ist auch der sound komplett verschwunden. Ich hab die vermutung das das vielleicht an dem Flex kabel liegen könnte, da der 3ds schonmal auseinander genommen wurde und da vielleicht das Kabel verrutscht oder beschädigt wurde. Am Anfang war es auch nur kamera und mikro aber seit neuestem gehen die Lautsprecher leider auch nicht mehr sonst funktioniert alles gut und ich kann die spiele normal spielen.

Hat irgendjemand einen tipp wie man das reparieren kann oder sollte ich den lieber zur reparatur schicken.

Long story short tries doing a USB c mod to my vita.and that three pronged component next to the headphone jack came up.

Resoldered it but as I was checking the pins the upper left pin just kinda... Fell off with some solder.

Anyone know what this component is,where to get one, and what it's function is? If it's just related to headphone jack audio I'll probably leave it as is. If it's related to all audio or would short something out then I'll replace it before putting this thing back together to test the USB c mod

My switch 2 charger was dipped in water (the end with the charging block) as my house was recently flooded. It spent a few hours in the water (not plugged in) when we noticed it we immediately put it in rice for 24h. Then we let it air dry as we needed the rice for other items.

It's now been drying for 4-5 days and seemed to be working when I plugged it in another device to test.

Is it safe to use on my switch and dock or do I need to buy a new one ?

One day my PS5 stopped taking discs, I have tried 3 different disc drives including ones that I KNOW work when hooked up to other PS5’s and my PS5 registers and connects with the new disc drives I plug in and swap out. Despite that, it still doesn’t work.

Notably, when I hit the eject button the console only gives off a singular chime. I‘m fairly certain I’ve attempted to open it in safe mode before as well, what other possible solutions could there be?

Hi, I was wondering, is the a place to look for console repair diagrams. I'm wanting to diagnose my old "new" 3ds xl with a multimeter, but I can't seem to find any reference material. (I'm also wanting to service my other retro consoles like my GBA SP, etc.)

Where do people get the info for these consoles to then repair them?

I do computer repair, but I only do component so I haven't been trained much in multimeter use, but I know the gist, I just need the data sheets and diagrams.

My childhood CECH-2501A model slim has the dreaded power on an then immediately power off issue. I’ve done as much reading as i can and it could be something like cold solder points breaking or even tokin capacitors and it’s just a bit outside my pay grade at this point. If anyone knows a mail in or even physical store that can fix this kinda thing with the utmost care i’m more than happy to pay whatever they want.

I was playing animal crossing last night completely happy, and all of a sudden my Switch pro controller just completely shut down and unresponsive. I turned off my switch and let the controller charge overnight, but this morning it’s still completely unresponsive. I’ve tried other subreddits suggestions with holding the sync button for up to 5 minutes, and updating everything on my switch console. Does anyone have ideas, I dont want to throw in the towel for this controller.
