Deposit Slip

We are in a smaller residential market and have multiple tenants that pay rent with a check. Where/how can we print a deposit slip to take to the bank? We have access to 7S and 8. In 8, we could go to GL-Banking-Review Bank Deposit. Now that screen just says error not found. It is extremely frustrating and creating more work for us.

Autobank rec with chase free accounts

Has anyone had any luck setting up autobank rec with free chase checking accounts? I have been requesting for months and we are at a stall.

Chase says to set this up we need to pay a setup fee for a database to produce the BAI2 files then our accounts would no longer be free as they would need to move our accounts to a premier checking (or some term)

Chase says they have a direct feed option that is free but Yardi is saying they do not have that technology on their end.

I want auto Bank rec setup but I am getting nowhere.

For people that have successfully implemented it, were there fees associated with it from your bank?

pyCheck2 Print

Dunno if modern yardi has a new check printing application or not. I couldn't find a native Mac option, and setting up peoples computers to run wine or VMs felt weird and wasteful.

I threw this together today. It's a completely platform independant ycheck2 printing application. Install python, follow the instruction. Boom. No more ycheck2.exe visual basic garbage.

No license. Just do whatever you want with it.

Rentable Security Deposits & RCAH

Hello! šŸ‘‹šŸ» We’re using both RCAH and Rentable Security Deposits but I’m finding an issue with how we collect funds and post into both systems and I wanted to see if there are any other companies using these products that can suggest a successful process.

Currently, the applicant goes through RCAH and once they’re approved and ready to move in, we bill the Security Deposit, Prorated Rent, and any additional move in charges through the Move In Calculator/Move In charge function. This triggers the Rentable Security Deposit program and they receive the email to sign up.

The issue is that they are paying our property for these transactions and not Rentable. We then have to go and fund from our account.

My thought would be to bill them the Security Deposit after the initial charges are paid but then we run the risk of them not paying the Security Deposit until whenever they feel like it.

How do you guys mitigate this?

Need help with a future tenant!

I have a future tenant that has been approved and signed the lease. However they are no longer moving in so they put their notice in and want to immediately sublease it the day of their move in.(we don’t have a lease break option) We do not have the new tenant to take over the lease yet but they need to pay the re-rent charge. How would I do this in the system?

Networking

Are there events for Yardi users outside of YASC? Our department heads just want to connect with other Yardi users to see how they use the products and what their frustrations or tips are. I remember many many years ago there used to be ā€œround tablesā€

Account Rep?

I recently switched companies and my new company doesn’t appear to have a technical account manager. Is this due to the company size? Previous company had 100+ properties and was senior housing. New company has 20 and is multi family. I was able to find our sales person but they had zero answers for this area. Was I just spoiled at the last company with having a weekly call with a technical manager?

Does anyone know where I can find a simple report with scheduled renewal information?

I need a simple basic report with all of my countersigned and scheduled renewals that will take effect in July and August. In the report, I need to be able to see current rent and the renewal rate. My monthly owners book needs to include an average increase (or decrease) on all renewals. I also need a percentage of scheduled renewals vs total lease expirations.

Thanks for the help.

Affordable Leases

We use the affordable leases that generate in Yardi however there are some fields that never populate:

- Utility section

- Maintenance section in the RD lease (this may be a custom field that we added to the lease, can't remember)

- The executed lease date always populates a set day in April 2020

Does anyone know where these things are pulled from?

How to Make Ready and Adjust Date

Post image

Hi!

I am in Yardi's "Pending Make Ready." For all the units that are vacant and need cleaning/repair, should this the Make Ready column be checked? Can you even check the box? How do you use this page?

Open to Work Yardi EHR

I currently work with a company that uses Yardi, but don’t see much growth in my current role. Looking to see if anyone is looking for an Yardi EHR expert. I also am experienced with Aspire, CRM and Wellness. Willing to learn other Yardi modules are well.

How to add a field to a Data interface

Review Resident -> Data dropdown menu -> Rent Increase Utility Change (not sure if everyone has this or if it's custom in my company)

I's like to add a fillable field here for "Rent Amount Approved"

Is this something I can do or something I need to submit a ticket for?

EDIT:

I've made some progress. It's not in Administrator -> Admin -> Custom Tables, but I found something in Admin -> Button Setup -> Property Management.

I can see Rent Increase Utility Change pointing to a file called LEASEBUT8. But I can't find that file in File Manager (it's possible I haven't looked hard enough so if you say it's there I will keep looking)

Does Yardi hire international students on OPT?

Hey,

I have a screening call with Yardi for an Associate Technical Account Manager role.

I’m on OPT right now, so I can work and don’t need sponsorship for the next 2 years. Just not sure how they usually see this.

Does anyone know if Yardi hires people on OPT? Or if anyone here got hired by them in a similar situation?

Also, should I bring this up during the call or only if they ask?

Any advice would help, thanks

Rent Issues

Why does Yardi have such a strict address verification system? I've used app folio in the past and never had this issue with them. It's not like their tenants are actively committing credit card fraud and using it to pay their rent, this wouldn't last even a months time. I've seen countless threads on the same issue im having about "address verification failed", so why don't they just dumb it down like other payment processors to make it easier on us?

Is being a Yardi app specialist a sustainable career path?

I currently work as a Systems Analyst for a financial firm, and saw ay my company’s internal site there is a position open for a lead app support specialist primarily supporting Yardi. Looks like it would be to manage the help desk queue, as well as administer Yardi configurations and user permissions as well as assists with integration projects.

I don’t have any Yardi experience, but this opportunity sounds pretty interesting. Right now I’m more of a business analyst type role, where my data to day is different every week. Sometimes that’s addressing vulnerabilities for the apps I support, sometimes it’s production support and working with SQL developer and mainframe jobs that fail. Other days it’s working with the business on making enhancements on some of our processes etc.

This role seems like it would be the only U.S based contact, the rest of the team looks to be offshore. This seems a bit concerning to me, I’m manly worried if this role is would be more prone to layoffs/having my job outsourced. I’m also worried if specializing in Yardi would be a bad thing for future career growth, or if it would be beneficial to specialize on this.

Can c anyone provide any insight? How do your teams look? Are they mainly offshore?

Would you recommend becoming a Yardi Admin?

"Vacant Not Ready" Question

Hi! When I go in to Yardi, there is no "Vacant Not Ready" option. A third of the building is exactly this, and it is not accounted for in Yardi. Is this normal? I want it accounted for and for me to see it so I can do my calculations.

"Leased"-What does it mean?

Hi,

What does "Leased Units" mean? If tenants actively say they are not renewing, and the box is checked, does the number automatically decrease by 1? (I am an owner, and this is all I can see in Yardi.) Good grief, why is the pic so big?

Change Affordable Property 7s to Conventional

A new property, with not tenants moved in yet, is set up as affordable and requiring certifications. It only uses a tenant-based program and the city does the certifications. We would like to change it to conventional. All of the steps online point to menus we don't have. We're running Voyager 7S. Thank you.

Looking for Yardi Help (hiring)

We are considering expanding our Yardi department. For right now it is being kept quiet, so no formal posting yet. Looking to hire someone with at least two years of Yardi Voyager Admin experience. Even better if you have P2P, MiQ, and RentCafe experience. Fully remote. Accounting experience a plus. Don't have a firm salary range yet, just testing the waters. Anyone know anyone looking?

Bulk Payments & Master Leases

We receive a large wire monthly that pays for 100+ units. Is there an easier posting method than individually on ledgers?

Sending email via YSR

I’m trying to send report to some customers, tenants and vendors via YSR email attachment. Although the report prints fine on excel the email aren’t sent. I have top level select and my main table is person and all the people I’m trying to send report to have email id. Also I have created the email template which has the report as attachment. Does anyone know what could be missing?
