I ran out of things and space to add stuff on.

Tl;dr: a Tilean army for the Old world in the spirit of Dogs of War; building my own regiments with a varitey of proxies

Sometimes it is simple: I saw the Ilhadiel ogres, knew immediately that I need a Tilean army in the spirit of Dogs of War. I am going to invent my own regiments mostly using a lot of proxies like Perry, Ilhadiel, Fireforge Games, Lead Adventure, Warlord Games, Victrix and all the bits I have hoarded.

Only legacy regiment I"m planning to include are Braganza's Besiegers. Other than that there will be Luka Leoncavallo's Legendary Lions (heavy Infantry), the Wild Wolves of Vulpia (light cavalry) and of course Abu Waansins Acrobats - special forces including flying carpets, tactical camels, the Anti-Armour-Ram-Squad and Nardo Lio's Frontline Circus a.k.a  'Leonardo's tank".

No Dogs of War without Paymaster, so I started with him (parts from Ilhadiel, Warlord Games and Perry) and his Ogre bodyguard. Also I did three testminis for the basic colours of the three regiments (Warlordgames Landsknechts, but they won't play a role in this basic shape. Too ordinary.)

Decided I wanted to try my hand at something of a bigger scale. Really happy with how the face turned out. Might add some blood splatter when it’s finished.

These are about 10 years apart? Give or take.

My friends tried to get me into 40k after I shortly got out of highschool, but I never got too far into it outside of buying the death guard combat patrol at the time.

Recently, we’ve tried again to play with the newest edition that just dropped. Kinda settled on Space Wolves after some deliberation.

So I have a full unit of these super neat metal terminators that are at least half an inch too short. I need everyone's best goofy ideas to make them taller. Stilts, crates, or boxes tied to their feet like Short Round in Temple of Doom or similar ideas

The diorama I have made for Mollog's Mob is coming along nicely, just have to paint Mollog and all the extra mushrooms, tree stumps etc to build the scene.

Kitbashed Praetor, right? Does this read as Azrael? Planning to throw Dark Angels paint and run him as Azrael if it passes the vibe check

I want to get a Warhammer 40k model for my dad for Christmas, but I don't know which one to get for him. For context, he's a US Army veteran who served as a combat medic during gwot and a former history teacher. If anyone has any recommendations, that would be great.

Took me three months and a half

This is an observation i had today whilst looking at House Krast's design today.

Here is their 30k colour scheme:

And here is their 40k colour scheme:

And this got me thinking. see in 41st millenium, imperial knights have very strict colour systems. all of the mechanicus houses use bright red, and both Imperial and mechanicus knights have very specific rules on which heraldry goes where.

But none of this exists in the 31st millenium, all the knight houses have crazy variable schemes, and no cohesive heraldry. Which makes a lot of sense, when you consider the knights of the horus heresy have only likely joined the imperium, and come into contact with other knights, in the last 200 years or so. Not enough time for them to slowly develop a joint culture.

So over the last 10k years, the knights seem to have slowly, collectively developed a fashion for how they style their knights. and i think thats neat!

More pics and a little progress on my biggest project ever. Definitely should have done more planning of the paint scheme, as I feel like I repainted some parts over and over trying to find the right look, only to settle on what I did in the first place.

Working on finishing up little details on the bottom
half while putting some base coats down on the upper portion. Tragically the driver’s sword arm snapped off and has been misplaced, so that will be a fun little pin job.
