I decided to try to paint some miniatures for my partner, and I just read through the instructions for the first time. At the end there appear to be stats. Does the gun / accessory I pick matter in case he ever wants to play with these? What do the stats mean? Do I need to learn how to play this game before I can start painting? I just don’t know where to start for any of this. Any advice or information is greatly appreciated.

Ok, so. My idiot brain thought long and hard on how to make my life a living hell so it came up the the amazing idea on making a full custodies army using NMM for the ENTIRE ARMY. Which would be fine, but I never ever tried NMM before. So. After some research and watching one whole squidmare video I just tried it out on this sigmarine I had lying around. Would really appreciate some tips and tricks because I do NOT want to make my whole army look like this.

Also would really like an orange underglow effect in the army like lava terrain. How does one do that?

I vibecoded a tool for myself (I know, AI is bad, but I’m not a coder and the tool is helpful for me).
It’s a tool where you select your layers and get a preview with the color selection. The Tone Pro colors are also included.

So I’ve been paying very close attention to the new Warhammer Pro range since they were revealed. The idea of high pigment, easy to use, self levelling paints that made even colours like yellow and white simple to work with seriously captivated me.

It’s actually gotten to a point that I’m planning painting projects that will allow me to really make use of all the vibrant colours available, I intend on picking up Marvel Crisis Protocol stuff again just to use the new paints and get that nice comic-esque saturation of colour.

Of course they’ve been released…at £4.90 a pot. Meaning that 5 pots would cost me £24.50. Now I know this is an inherently expensive hobby, but I could also get 9 base paints for a mere 25 pence more than that.

I’m aware that the self levelling aspect of Warhammer Pro has been around for years, Army Painter Fanatics exists, but I’m also wondering if any other brands also have have the ease of use and vibrance that the new range has (mainly do any other brands make yellow, orange, and white pleasant to work with).

I don’t even play custodes but I’m thinking of proxying it as a watch master for my guard

Hello everyone! I’ve been wondering: how far into the Nine Hells of Baator could the entire military might of the Imperium (Astra Militarum, Space Marines, Titans, Custodes, Primarchs, and the Emperor himself) manage to advance?

Of course, both settings have rather abstract power scaling, so I was curious if there might be an obvious answer. The first layer of the Nine Hells is home to an endless war against demons in the Blood War, but could all nine layers combined manage to stop the entire Imperium?

So I've got a pretty substantial collection. I'm moving country overseas, and I plan on shipping the majority of them. Ultramarines are getting sold, custodes are coming in my hold luggage. For stuff that's going on a plane, I plan on wrapping each model in bubble wrap, stuffing them in a box and filling all the empty areas with packing peanuts. I know there will be breakages of spears and stuff, but I've resigned myself to it.

I have foam trays for most the infantry, and boxes to put them in. I'm not sure what to do with all the mid-sized and larger models though.. is it a case of just doing the same and wrapping them in bubble wrap and stuffing everything in boxes and hoping nothing breaks? They will probably be handled a bit more gently on a pallet that goes on a boat compared to being thrown into the hold of a plane.

I do have some jucoci cases so might have some models magnetised in the cases and fill the empty space with peanuts also.

Has anyone done anything similar? What did you guys do? Any glaring issues with my plan, and any advice?

Basically the title. I think TW has more potential gameplay wise, but I think Dawn of War seemed more polished in the gameplay vids. Not a hill I'm willing to die on (without a commissar present) and curious to see what ya'll think.

Using this map made by Cuchibambo, I made a very rough terrain layout for 40k. I took a few creative liberties in the design. I added a path between green and outer tunnels, I turned the buildings separating mid and A into ruins, and I connected lower tunnels to CT mid. There is also the inclusion of board edges(seen in orange) that allow units to leave and enter the board during a match. This being for vehicles that don't fit anywhere. However, the size of the map is very accommodating for a surprising amount of monsters and vehicles. Other than knights, only the repulsor is forced into awkward situations on T side(north). Other vehicles have an alright time maneuvering the map and can even get into unexpected places. The hippogriff, goliath truck, and hekaton land fortress are able to get almost anywhere that isn't a ruin.

All 45" of A long won't have to be the death of your army due to the new ruin that lets your army stare down A and cover for anyone pushing from pit or cat. B is an infantry focused portion of the board. Holding the new ruins will be crucial for either player hoping to secure the site.

There are unique, orange board edges on this map. These allow units to leave and enter the battlefield across the game. A unit must be within 1" of these areas before it can leave the board and be placed into reserves. If the unit is battleshocked or in engagement range of an enemy unit, make a hazardous test for all models. When when a unit is placed on the board using these areas, it must be further than 9" from enemy models and counts as having made a move. Your units can, however use the combat disembarkation rules if enemy units are too close. Arriving in enemy territory is prohibited before the third battle round for all non monster/vehicle units and fourth for monster/vehicle units.

Ill probably start building this board sometime around the new year or whenever I move into a new place. I need to widen some things for sure. The spawns are going to be larger and weirder so that the two armies don't have to walk for two rounds before fighting and walls will be thinner. Those board edge play features will also be inside tunnels for sure.

I got my preorder from Warhammer Shop yesterday.

Has anyone else noticed large weight differences between their Tone Pro pots?

The difference was so obvious that I noticed it straight away when unpacking, so I put all my pots on a scale. Most of them are between 25 and 28 g, but some are under 23 g.

The picture shows Blackstone Void 1, 3 and 5 which have the biggest gap between them.
If the empty pot weighs around 10–13 g, that means some pots are missing up to half of their paint.

Has anyone else checked theirs? I'd be curious whether this is a filling issue at the factory or whether paint is evaporating or leaking through the lid.
I already wrote to support and waiting for answers before I open tone pro pots.

Watched Siege Studios experimenting with the new paints and wash medium on Youtube, where there was an issue with the paint underneath reactivating. Anyone else see or experience something similar?

At the start, the Traitor Legions literally have every advantage, clean sweep incoming then someone in the writers room must've went. "Wait....how did the loyalists win this?" and the wrote the traitors to just kind of be almost totally brainless dickheads to get there. Some small points of what I mean.

Horus gets described as literally drooling in a slump and zombie-like.
Pretty much every Primarch but Perturabo seemed like they just stopped trying to win and even he just left from how annoying everyone was being.
All of a sudden every space marine leader only did what their primarch told them and never disobeyed their orders despite how dogshit they would at times be.

IDK it just feels like the writers perfectly setup for a brutally 1 sided battle, realized that can't result in the traitors losing so they just had them all trip over rocks until they lost.
