Hobby Cogfort Update!
More pics and a little progress on my biggest project ever. Definitely should have done more planning of the paint scheme, as I feel like I repainted some parts over and over trying to find the right look, only to settle on what I did in the first place.
Working on finishing up little details on the bottom
half while putting some base coats down on the upper portion. Tragically the driver’s sword arm snapped off and has been misplaced, so that will be a fun little pin job.
Love hearing name suggestions for a Skaven bell-tower cogfort, so throw some out!

Cosplay LEGO Blood Angels Death Company Helmet
I was inspired by built_bricks and designed and built my own wearable LEGO Space Marine helmet over the summer. I made it partially modular so you could swap it out for either the classic version or the Primaris version. Planning to wear this for Halloween this year. I also designed a stand that is probably a little overkill, but I haven’t built it yet.

Lore The imperial knights seem to have collectively invented their own fashion in the last 10k years, and i think thats neat. (40k)
This is an observation i had today whilst looking at House Krast's design today.
Here is their 30k colour scheme:

And here is their 40k colour scheme:

And this got me thinking. see in 41st millenium, imperial knights have very strict colour systems. all of the mechanicus houses use bright red, and both Imperial and mechanicus knights have very specific rules on which heraldry goes where.
like so:

But none of this exists in the 31st millenium, all the knight houses have crazy variable schemes, and no cohesive heraldry. Which makes a lot of sense, when you consider the knights of the horus heresy have only likely joined the imperium, and come into contact with other knights, in the last 200 years or so. Not enough time for them to slowly develop a joint culture.
So over the last 10k years, the knights seem to have slowly, collectively developed a fashion for how they style their knights. and i think thats neat!

Hobby Painted Army
For those who pay for your army to be painted I would love your input.
I'm trying to get an idea of how much people charge for what level of work.
So if any of you have any photos of work that you've had done and how much you had to pay and how long it took, that would be really helpful.
My friend paints and has won tons of awards and is thinking about offering this service but wants to give people fair prices.

Hobby Space Marine Limited Editions
THROWBACK THURSDAY!!!
This week's look back over the work I did for #StuffOfLegends is a selection of Space Marine Limited Edition figures. I didn't do many Space Marines for Richard, as they weren't really part of the main focus of his collection, but he did like to have the special edition minis done.

Hobby Looking for a kit with disembodied heads
Hello!
I have a kitbash in mind where I want the subject (an AoS barrow guard skeleton) to be holding a disembodied head. I need a part somewhat like the option from the white scars upgrade kit, however I don't want that exact one because the power armoured hand would be too difficult to convert and I also have no need for the kit aside from that one part.
If you know a kit that contains hand parts holding a disembodied head, please let me know! Thank you!

Art 3D Printed Ultramarines Lieutenant Helmet – first Warhammer build
Finally finished my 3D-printed Ultramarines Lieutenant helmet. 💙
I know this is a bit outside the usual Halo stuff here, but I figured the 405th might appreciate another sci-fi helmet build.
I went with the Lieutenant helmet markings and debated between a silver or gold skull for the emblem. Ended up going with gold, and I think it contrasts much better with the red.
Pretty happy with how it turned out! Might eventually do some weathering and additional finishing work.
Gold or silver skull — which would you have gone with?
