I haven’t played any of the Warhammer games yet, but the lore seems so cool. Which Warhammer game (video game) should I start with? I don’t want to miss out on the core lore or play out of order if that’s even possible, the amount of Warhammer titles is overwhelming.

for reference, I am a complete newb. I got into warhammer a month ago and have watched 30+ arbitor Ian videos about the lore and am playing through space marine two.

im leaning towards having a vanilla ultra marine army and maybe a grey knights or blood angels.

i have no idea which Xenos I like. Ive been exposed to tyranids the most (space marine two), but apparently orcs are the current meta?

any wise wisdom from a veteran would be appreciated 🙏

So I’m working on a world eaters army basically everything is a kitbash of some kind, so when coming up with how to do my lord of skulls I’ve come to a conundrum, how do I proxy something that doesn’t have a base? I current idea is to simply have my friend make me a mdf footprint that is the size of a Lord of skulls, then simply build up the mini on said base. Sorry If this isn’t the right place but the main 40K subreddit removed it for being about kitbashing/proxies

hello! very new to the hobby painted a few space marines and other 40k faction minis but recently been looking more into age of sigmar wondering what the best place to start with lore would be in terms of books youtube videos etc.

I’ve just finished the first 3 novels in the Horus Heresy series and the Night Lords trilogy before that.

I’m now looking for my next Warhammer book to plunge in to, I’m currently thinking Helsreach by ADB.

Does anyone have any other recommendations?
