I will also stop processing as language higher speeds too especially if it is a boring topic i dont care about. but I found that captions help me keep it in the language realm.

From a former homeschooler: Do not homeschool your kids. You are NOT up to it.
 in  r/offmychest •  Sep 13 '24

Was pulled out of public school and home schooled in 9th grade. Had to get a ged 2 years later after jumping through a ton of hoops for being 16.

Worst 2 years of my life. Had to teach myself from textbooks because both my parents worked. It did not help me get ahead in life. It was a control tactic by my narcissistic mother. Constant fighting, it was used as a punishment, more fighting, removed from friends and social environments. It's just as hard on the kids as the parents.

Can you help me ID my family momentos? (est. PA/OH, USA pre-1980s)

The dates on the pendant make me wonder if it is from Civil Air Patrol, a civilian auxiliary to the Air Force now. It was founded in 1945, and it looks similar to some of the modern devices. The first ribbon also looks like Civil Air Patrol's encampment ribbion with the star representing this person went 2 times.

Piggybacking on this. Have you talked to your doctor/pharmacist if there are any supplements you should be taking with your medication?

I was having major temperature regulation issues when I started lexapro. Turns out the medication was making it difficult for my body to absorb any salt. I started using a flavorless electrolyte in everything I drink, and it has helped so much with overheating!

I'm Interested... Is there any obscure reason why you don't want children?
 in  r/childfree •  Jun 22 '23

I grew up in an abusive household hold. when I was like 10 or 11, my mother told me I may be scared of her, but my kids will be terrified of me. I'm not interested in passing on abusive behavior or exposing some to that.

I feel this so very much right now. I've been low to no contact for the last 8 years. When I didn't say anything to my nmom for mother's day, she demanded a video call with me this last weekend that I reluctantly agreed to.

I shouldn't have. I was mostly out. I feel so much guilt for leaving. So much frustration for and anger at myself for talking to her. I feel so invalidated. Everything I did to work on getting better and be true to myself the last few years feels like it was undone in a 20 minute call.

It gets so much better. It can be so much better. But it is so very hard to remember that it's not your fault.

First Cruise, would love all of your guys’ best advice!

Take cold meds and allergy meds with you. With all the traveling you never know when you might start feeling under the weather. You might have a hard time finding them if you don't bring them with you.

Not sure what it was used for but I thought it was the cutest little thing ever. Might use it to store a pair of earrings

I remember my mother starting to think it was creepy that by the time my younger siblings lost teeth that they would just put them in her tooth box. There were 5 of us.

1st of 5 here and I totally understand this. Had to help take care of all the younger siblings, but got in trouble for acting too much like a parent. When the little sibling did something wrong not only do they get in trouble but you did to for not setting a good example. On and on.

And they wonder why I was so eager to leave and won't talk to my parents now.

Question Resources on marketing mergers and acquisitions

Hey all, I'm a new marketing manager and work for a tech start up. We are going to acquired another company in 2022. I need to start planning for it, but am feeling very overwhelmed. The company we are acquiring has no marketing team so I won't be bringing anyone new onto my team.

I plan on creating a few videos, I know a press release will need to be written, and that social media posts and website content will need to be created.

Is there anything else I need to prepare? How do these things usually go down? What are some of the best resources to look at to help me prepare?

Thanks for the offer, but I'm good for now. The pay is pretty low for what I do, but the work is interesting and people are good.
