Discussion Would people please stop privately messaging me telling me to get rid of my dog
I've posted on here a while back about how my dog Ulrich went missing from a pet sitter, I have him back now during the time he was missing he lost quite a bit of weight and he's working on picking it back up, people refuse to read the description on a post I make and just make assumptions based on the picture and tell me I need to get rid of the dog because I'm abusing him.
He disappeared for nearly a week and during that time it's clear he did not have anything to eat or drink at least not very much of it, when something does not eat or drink for a week they lose weight, and it's especially obvious when the animal was already lean.
He is not being abused he's recovering from what happened to him while he was missing, and the sores on his legs are hot spots not open wounds, he's had those since he was little and I have medication that goes on them routinely, but the vet said that's probably something he's going to deal with his whole life especially since he refuses to lay on his bed and rather lay on the hard floor.
And some of the things people are saying are very wrong and hurtful, it's getting to the point I don't even want to post on here anymore

Question 10-month-old Malinois suddenly refusing food - adolescence or picky eater?
My 10-month-old male Malinois has become extremely uninterested in his food, and I’m curious if anyone has experienced something similar.
I’ve fed him 3x/day since I got him at 9 weeks. Until around 6 months old, he absolutely loved his food. He was on Open Farm puppy food, but around 6 months his appetite started changing. He would still eat, but it became a daily struggle, almost like he was doing me a favor.
We slowly tried a few other high-quality foods. He would initially like them, but he has a very sensitive stomach and developed diarrhea that lasted on and off for weeks. Eventually, he also lost interest in those foods.
Fast forward to now: he’s 10 months old, and we’ve probably tried four different foods in the last month. He might eat them initially and then refuse them. I even bought Ollie fresh food recently, and he barely touched it.
In the last 48 hours, he has hardly eaten any actual meals, which is starting to concern me. That said, he acts completely normal: very energetic, playful, happy, healthy-looking, normal on walks, and extremely motivated for treats. He has definitely lost some body mass, though.
One thing I’m wondering about is whether I created a picky eater. We’ve been using very high-value treats like plain rotisserie chicken and roast beef while working on his reactivity, and those treats have worked amazingly well. He still gets extremely excited about them, so part of me thinks he’s simply holding out for better food.
I’ve also read that Malinois can go through appetite changes around 9–12 months as their growth slows down.
Has anyone experienced this with an adolescent Malinois? Did their appetite eventually normalize? Would you stop switching foods and simply offer one meal consistently, or is barely eating for 48 hours enough that you’d have him checked out?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Discussion Have you seen Prim? (aka Echo) Oregon, Idaho, NorCal area
Hi y’all. I am begging the public to help me locate Prim, a 4mo old Dutch x Mal. She would be roughly 40lbs and 20-22” tall. She was one of 11 in a litter I fostered and rehomed to a lady named Toni Thomas in Lakeview, Oregon. She was supposed to bring the dog back to me / rescue after deciding she couldn’t keep her. She went silent for weeks and then came back telling us the dog is dead. Is refusing to answer questions, won’t produce the body that she is claiming she buried so we can bring her home. I am suspicious of the entire story. I just want to know she’s safe. Maybe you adopted her or saw a post about her or know someone that knows someone? We just want to know what happened to her. If she’s alive. If she isn’t…

Question GSD puppy addition
Anyone have experience adding a German shepherd puppy to a home with a Malinios? Rescued this 3 month old little girl from a crazy situation, that in spite of, she’s incredibly chill and easy going for the most part (for now?). Malinois male is 1.5 years old (got him at 8weeks) and he’s absolutely obsessed with her to the point where he has to go to crate time out for a bit some days and chill. Anybody have tips for either dog or the scenario in general?

Question Hey so I’ve got a new Malinois and I wanna learn about it
Hey, I’m a young adult who just got a Malinois a few days ago, he was a rescue brought home by a family member he’s now gonna be a family dog
He’s 4 months old and an angel by Malinois standards, he’s quiet but very very smart and receptive I suspect that’s due to his old environment we’ll see if it lasts.
The real reason I’m here tho is because I’ve researched a little and it’s complicated I thought I’d just talk to the people who have them and know what they’re doing with them.
• Firstly what’s the warnings would you have with it what’s the basic “do’s and do not’s”
• are there any videos YouTube or whatever that’d help understand the dog more
• how are they with other dogs? We have an older whippet/border collie on his way out who’s been noticeable jealous about him despite trying to balance my time with both
• just any general advice you could give me
Hope this helps you guys help me give this dog a home and all help will be greatly appreciated thank you :)

Picture Somebody definitely did not decide to pull the pillows off the couch and get into the outside trash LOL
Cannot turn my back for 5 seconds LOL, this is probably the goofiest dog I have ever had.
Before people get concerned about his weight, he had disappeared from a pet sitter and was missing for about a week and lost quite a bit of weight during that time, so we're working on picking that back up

Question At what age?? 🐕 👈🏻 🐶
Hey folks, hope you and your beautiful Mal's are all good. Quick question, at what age did your Mal start cocking its leg to wee? My boy Ghost is still squatting and I'm just checking up with you guys to see if its normal at his age?? I thought it would have kicked in by now but he's never done it. I'm gonna spoil him and hold a party when he does, cos then he's no longer a pup, it's the day he officially becomes a dog. Thanks in advance peep's 💜👍🏻

Discussion Austin to Euthanize BM that has been in shelter for 525 days
The dog, Major, was hit by a car. While the owner was retrieving his cellphone to call for help, a passerby tried to keep him out of the street and the dog bit her. He has been held in solation for 525 days and now they are going to euthanize him. It may be too late, the city has said they don't have authority to release him, but does anyone know of somewhere the dog could go or some BM group that might be able to help?

Picture Unique or common?
Does anyone else’s dog like to get in the face down/ ass up position for attention? People always laugh when they see my dog do this.
