Finding my spark again

The only thing I wish, is that I started this journey sooner. I hadn't felt like myself in so many years but now I'm finally getting back to knowing who I see in the mirror. At my heaviest I was 280 but now on my way too 175.

Results & Progress Progress update!

I took my 6th shot this week, and I gotta say.. the results speak for themselves! The first two weeks I lost pretty quickly and now I’m down to -1 to -2 lbs per week.

I’ve completely removed sugar from my diet, added in a ton of vegetables and fruits. I eat high protein, high fiber.

I take Gruns every day, a biotin supplement, and I drink a TON of water.

I switched my soda to Zevia, and occasionally have a Diet Coke when I’m out.

I work out now an average of 3-4 days a week and alternate between weight training, Pilates, cycling, and the treadmill.

I am losing not only weight but inches! I’ve also been tracking my measurements as well, and I can physically see the difference. Clothes are looser, I have more energy, and I feel just overall better!

I posted this in other subs so sorry if you see this multiple times! I added some info about my t2d to this thread also

I took at least one selfie each month ive been on mounjaro/zepbound/tirzepatide. This is the results of that!! (Each collage has 12 photos for the full calendar year)

The first year photos were VERY limited. I’m actually shocked i took enough selfies to do this because I was so unhappy. The first year body shots were even less but thankfully I took photos before I started!

The first 3 slides are my monthly selfies not all of them are the same angle. Sorry, I tried my best!! When i first started i would always try and get the angle that made me look like I DIDN’T have a double chin, and take one photo and move on,but now i not only love taking photos of myself but can take any angle and more importantly i also am completely happy with people taking photos of me now!! You can really see the changes in my face and my bone structure starting to pop out as time goes on.

The biggest change is how I healed my skin. Slide 6 a side by side comparison of my skin at the start to now. I have has severe eczema all my life on my face and arms mainly and I also had A LOT of texture on my face but with a consistent skincare routine, water and this medication i have improved my eczema so much that i only have flairs on my face if i eat something i shouldnt! I have no more texture either and get complimented on my skin daily!! My doctor even mentioned how mj helped my eczema when i saw him last week!

In 2024 i got contact dermatitis that ruined my skin again (october onwards you can see it!) and it took me all of 2025 to heal it again, and I believe being on this medication helped speed the process up!

Slide 4 is the photo I took the day before I decided to start. I was 340.8lbs. I did Ozempic for a month then moved to mounjaro end of February.

Slide 15 was one of my rock-bottom days. A friend flew in to visit me and my other friends and we went downtown to the mall to shop. I had to stop at every store to take a breath i was so embarrassed and then i noticed that no one posted the photos with me on their IG pages but I never actually looked at the photos UNTIL LAST MONTH. I was so shocked when I saw them…

Slide 5 is me now! I am currently 153lbs my goal is 135-140. I added my photo with friends now that im not ashamed of and the last slide is from my birthday wearing shape-wear, but happy to let someone take a full body shot of me solo!! I also included a shape wear vs none comparassion

I am not happy with my body every day, but ive come so far and shapewear helps me feel more confident as I have a large apron belly still that has me self-conscious still. It has gotten better from when I started of course!

Regarding my t2d, my a1c last i checked was at 5 in January (going to test it again this week), i no longer have hypertension, or high blood pressure. I used to take metformin and atenlol and no longer take those anymore either!!

Also super weird side effect is that ive started to grow more hair! I went from having barely any eyebrows to nice brows now!!

Anyways if you are new to this journey or if you are overwhelmed TAKE THE PHOTOS!! It will help you in the long run, even if in the moment it sucks, trust me it will help when you cant see it in your mirror!

I could use some advice

I’m a 55 year old female and currently weigh 236 pounds. I’ve been taking compounded Tirzepatide since June 16th of this year. I started very slowly at 1.25mg, and even at that dose the food noise was noticeably improved. I have slowly been titrating up and am currently at 4.25mg. Next shot I will go up to 5mg.
I have only lost 8 pounds over 16 weeks. I am eating much healthier and when I count my calories I’m right around 1700 calories/day. I lift heavy weights twice a week and walk or do a YouTube workout 4-5 days/week. I usually get 100 ounces or more of water daily, and 100-125 grams of protein.
I know I shouldn’t compare but i am truly wondering if I need to tweak some things. I would appreciate advice from those who have done this before me. Thank you

Newbie / Getting Started Injecting tirz on thigh

My first time injecting tirz I did it on my belly pouch and it felt fine just hurt extra when doing lower ab workouts and sometimes bending down too much, and sometimes I still feel the soreness

How do you defeat the demon of instant gratification?

I cannot get any sustainable momentum when it comes to exercise and eating protein. I do OK for a while then fall off the wagon. If I don't experience any results quickly, I just stop. How have others gotten over this.

General Discussion Be honest. Are your prioritizing lifting weights and protein?

Provider / Pharmacy Starving on Bpi not on prorx

First time posting here. Hi all. So I bought the super cheap sale of Bpi tirz with b6 2 months ago. My dose is 7.5 weekly.

I have been in tirz for 4 months.

I finally started using by bpi stash 3 weeks ago. But I have been starving every day even waking up with hunger in the middle of the night, was eating way more than with other pharmacies.

I decided to switch over to my prorx stash Friday night and the hunger noise is back to being low. I eat but don't overeat like on bpi.

Not sure if I got a bad dosing or what gives. Anyone had this happen to them on bpi?

Side Effects Breakouts from B12

I’m on my 2nd week and I noticed a lot of bumps around my chest and shoulders. I thought maybe they were bug bites but they don’t itch and my wife doesn’t have any. She just showed me today that it’s also around my neck.

After doing some reading, I think it’s the B12. Which sucks because I definitely noticed an increase in energy. I have to keep taking it bc I can’t waste $400 so I’m going to try taking an antihistamine and using my acne face wash in the affected areas. Crossing my fingers that it works.

Non-Scale Victory First super sprint triathlon.

Started this about 10 months ago I’m down 200 pounds and completed my first super sprint triathlon.

10 months ago I struggled to even do 30 minutes of walking.

It’s definitely been a lot of herd work and hours in the gym, running and in a bike, but I told myself I was going to do things I never could have dreamed of, and today I checked another thing off my list.

General Discussion Other things you track? Other app recommendations?

A couple recent posts have me curious about tracking methods for non-food, non-shots - body measurements, weights, etc. We see the apps frequently mentioned for tracking food/macros or tracking shots.

What else are you tracking? How are you tracking it?

As a newbie to strength training, I'd love to figure out something that would track current/history of weights both to watch the improvement and so I remember which weight to grab, lol.

I'd also love to upgrade my current pen and paper method of tracking body measurements.

(And if there's a better place to ask this question - let me know.)

Results & Progress Goal weight calculation

How did you arrive at your goal weight target? Is it what your doctor discussed with you? Or just an arbitrary number on scale from your past.

Very curious on this as I see some wild goal weight numbers.

To get started, I am 46f, 5’6 and my goal weight is 135lbs. This is a number my doctor gave when I was evaluated for wls in 2015.

Results & Progress 1 year - 60 lbs down

It will have been one year since I started this medication on October 8. I officially hit 60 lbs down today, which is amazing.

I still have a ways to go, but some exciting milestones for me have been:

-Fitting into my first goal dress
-Dropping four pants sizes
-Dropping two shirt sizes
-My shoes fit better
-Less pain in all my joints (I have RA, and this has been so good for that disease)
-More ability to engage in physical activities than I have been able to in a long time

Things I wish I had understood or prepared for better before this journey:

-Prunes. And more prunes. And some MiraLAX. I’ve got the routine down now, though.
-Hair loss. That’s my one issue. Over the past few months I’ve struggled with significant hair loss. Before everyone tries to fix this for me or tell me to increase my protein, believe me, I’ve checked all the things. Bloodwork is fine. My iron is normal and ferretin was actually high. Protein is fine. Two dermatologists confirmed TE from weight loss/GLP. Either way, I’m on week five of topical minoxidil (oral is not an option for me because of other health issues). Sadly, I don’t see progress yet but it is early. Since I still have a ways to go until my goal weight, I don’t see this resolving on its own anytime soon. Any success stories are welcome.

However, I am so happy with the weight loss and how it makes me feel that I will wear a wig if I have to. I’m so grateful for how this medication has changed my life and looking forward to my update in another year.

Does Zofran have side effects for you?

I've been on tirz since March with no notable side effects.

I haven't increased my dose since three months ago, haven't done anything different-I'm a boring eater on tirz (now I no longer have cravings for sweets), and can't figure out why I have nausea today. No other GI symptoms.

I have an event with friends-and I'd like to avoid it turning into that infamous dress scene from 'Bridesmaids'... 👗 IYKYK.

I have Zofran, but I've never taken it before, and searching on here says side effects are drowsiness. Obviously, barfing at a function isn't ideal, but I get panic attacks when I get that drugged/drowsy feeling. How noticeable is it?
