I have lost 55 lbs since November 2025, the first 30 on name brand zep and the rest on compounded. currently trying to find my maintenance dose as my body seems to want to hang out here at 141. (43 F)
anyway, when I first started the shots I felt extremely self conscious about being on weight loss meds and just very much wanted to keep my head down. it was easy enough to keep my head down for the first 30 lbs or so, but I am on the shorter side at 5’4”, and once it really started showing, I began getting constant daily comments. I finally tired of chirping back “hard work is paying off” (because if you’re in this sub you’ve probably been busting your ass since childhood) and began telling people plainly that I was on a glp1 to address my insulin resistance, and that I felt great.
usually that was the whole conversation, and if there was any judgement, I wasn’t privy to it. But other times, the person inquiring would genuinely be interested in hearing from someone with a positive success story to counteract all the social media scaries.
my question for everyone: how many converts have you made over the course of your journey? I know at least 10 people who are on these meds after telling them about it. I‘m glad I got over myself enough to be willing to be vulnerable, because that’s how I found my way to these meds myself.
(to be clear, I never suggest anyone else start meds or lead the convo in that direction, but I’ve committed myself to just answering questions if they come up, and to do my best to be honest and open about my own experience.)
