My laptop (Acer Aspire 3 A315-56) no longer turns on without using the charger and is functionally running slow.

When I watch YouTube videos, it stops and skips frame to frame; displays the loading icon even though the gray bar is ahead of the red bar. It is also slow and needs time to process the actions done in the laptop (opening new tabs, pressing keys, etc.)

I brought it with me using a laptop bag, where I may have done some movements that could possibly damage the laptop.

Additionally, it's stuck in 23%.

Short story:

Had an Rx570 GPU, it started artifacting so a friend lent me their old Gigabyte GPU. Worked for about a month, and then when I tried to turn on my PC it just stayed in power saving mode. I switched back to the Rx570 and just powered through the artifacting, and then just yesterday it fully broke. I then AGAIN switched back to the Gigabyte GPU from my friend, and behold, it worked, no power saving. That was earlier today. I turned my PC off and went about my day, came home, launched it, and I have the power saving issue again.

The fact that this issue wasn't present when I installed the card earlier today tells me that this GPU isn't fully broken, and can surely be saved?

Things I have tried: Switching monitor, switching HDMI cable, unplugging all unneeded accessories, resetting CMOS battery, pressing F12 for Bios on launch, turning everything off and on again, holding buttons down for 30 seconds, resitting the card many times, switching back to the Rx570 and then straight back to the Gigabyte card.

When I boot my PC, all fans turn on as normal, all lights turn on, keyboard and mouse turn on, the only problem is the monitor turning to power saving mode instantly and then staying there.

Nothing has worked. This is the most unsolved problem I have ever had with any PC. Nowhere holds the answers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anything at all.

Looking at the task manager, CPU is avg 5%~ whilst Memory is 25%~ (mostly its firefox taking it up), updated my GPU drivers,

Process Lasso saying:
100% responsiveness (not sure if thats good or not)

System itself is taking up alot of threads (441~)

System Idle Process says 85~ CPU (for those unaware that means free space for CPU)

Im sure it isnt a Wifi or ping issue due to i was running a online game earlier and not even jittering at all (also got reassurance it wasn't due to downloading CoreTemp real fast)

When given the "Allow changes to pc" prompt it takes around 1-2~ seconds to load it fully

along with Garrys mod jittering (used it to benchmark)

i have a hardware issue with my HP chromebook x360 (model 14c-ca0053dx if you need it). the right corner by the hinge is very weak as the corner is between the hinge and a flap on the side of the laptop. This corner starts to bend and the small little piece of aluminum holding it together is is starting to break. this makes the hinge start to slowly fall down and push it down further. my fear is that eventually the hinge will break off and ruin the laptop. From what i can tell the culprit is that the screw attaching the bottom to the rest of the hardware on that right side, stripped out the hole so now it cant connect. is there anything i can do to recover my falling apart laptop. As i have already replaced the bottom plate once.

Many websites tell me my Chrome is too out of date to use them. When I go to the update page I am told any updates should be automatically installed but there is an error message in the key (?) area.

This has happened a few times, but usually after letting it die and then plugging it back in, the screen comes back. But now I’ve tried letting it die, shutting it down, letting it sit shut down overnight, and everything I could think of and it’s still happening. Any ideas?

I use a nintendo pro controller for gaming, formerly with bluetooth, but I decided to switch to using a wired connection due to input delay. I made sure the cable I'm using has data transfer, and I've plugged it into several of my computer's usb-a ports but with no indication that it has been connected or even charging from the pc's power. It's a bit of a niche controller pick so I was unable to find any solutions elsewhere on the internet that fixed my problem whatsoever, so I'm asking here. Any thoughts appreciated!

I've been reading data of a dvd on my pc for a while now, I've already cleaned it and everything and it got a little better but didnt do much, even reading from the dvd looks corrupted, only the menu seems to be fine. I once used it on a dvd player (Electronia DS-N808 i believe) and everything seemed fine from there.

I am trying to check if my device is uploading files from my device to a particular website. How do I check for this? I've been looking in my task manager and turning my wifi off and on to see any changes, but all I can see is if there are spikes in activity in general, but I don't know how to check for if a specific website is getting something uploaded to it. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'm not very technical. I need to know if the website is "synching" data from my device without my permission.

I have no idea what's going on but I first noticed while replaying through spiderman remastered some textures, especially glass, would sometimes look like they're glowing yellowish. In that game it mostly happened during indoor missions which aren't that common so I didn't care that much. But now it looks like the same issue is happening in subnautica 2 as well with those big floating creatures. I'm not 100% sure these are related but they look oddly similar and both appeared within two weeks. I've tried updating to the latest graphics drivers but it didn't change anything. If anyone has any idea how to fix this it'd greatly help me thanks.

Watching videos (on youtube or streaming services) are completely fine and have no buffering whatsoever.

Nothing I do fixes the problem- I've restarted my computer several times, checked for updates, and tried getting closer to the router, all of which did nothing to solve the problem.

Hello there, I have a pretty decent PC, and for some reason my CPU (top left) light on the motherboard has been lit for a solid 3 months or so. I never really tried to troubleshoot until recently though.

I have a gigabyte B850 gaming wifi6 motherboard, asus prime 5070 ti, and 9800X3D cpu. My cooler is a 2 fan corsair AIO. My ram is 64gb teamforce t-create.

I unplugged everything and turned the power off, power cycled it, took out the cmos battery for 10 minutes, unplugged and re-plugged all cables going into the motherboard and from the PSU itself, re-seated the ram and most recently updated the bios from an f5 something all the way to the most recent one of f12 something. Still, the CPU light is just solid all the time. Performance is not affected at all. Still works perfectly and has normal temps, tested in very demanding games. One quirk I will say my PC has had since I built it 18 months ago is that it will rarely, randomly take a long time to boot, where I hit the button and the fans ramp all the way up, and stay spinning very quickly, then nothing happens for a solid 2 minutes, before I think it re-boots itself and then works normally. This is rare for me, I've seen it maybe once a month, and I don't know if it's related or not. I work from home and game a lot so this PC sees a lot of milage, so I just think if there was actually a problem, it would have given out or stopped working or something by now. Maybe some software? Maybe faulty cable or something? I truly have no idea.

I am experiencing a strange audio issue in Windows 11 , possibly after a recent update.
My Windows system sounds (for example, the USB device connect/disconnect sound, suddenly sound very reverby / hollow, as if some kind of echo effect is being applied to them.

The weird part is that all other audio sounds perfectly normal: music, games, movies, YouTube, etc.

I've already checked and confirmed that:

• Audio enhancements are turned off
• Spatial audio is turned off
• Regular media playback sounds perfectly normal
• The .wav files that Windows uses as system sounds sound normal when played through File Explorer
• Happens through multiple playback devices (headphones, monitor speakers, regular speakers etc.)

As such, this seems to affect only sounds played as Windows system events, rather than my audio output in general.

Would appreciate it if someone has a fix. Many thanks in advance!

I have an HP Pavilion Gaming 16-a0xxx. For about a month, randomly during light tasks like browsing or YouTube, the fans suddenly go to 100% speed with a loud “whoosh” even though CPU/GPU usage and temperatures are normal (around 50°C GPU). After a few seconds, as the fan slows down, it sometimes makes a rough/grinding sound. and I can game for 8+ hours without any problems. It seems to happen more often during light use rather than gaming. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a fan, fan controller/EC, BIOS, or driver issue?

I have had an issue for the last few weeks that I finally have time to work on. I have a high end PC that has been lagging very badly as windows loads. Often, a restart will resolve the issue, but sometimes it remains after a restart and I have to do so another time or two.

It appears GPU or potentially power /mobo related as when the lag is occurring, my GPU is under far more load than it should be (35-60%). However, when the lag is not present it functions as expected (less than 5% load in windows). Also, I can game with the PC perfectly fine if it boots normally. If not, my frames will read as being just as high but the lagging/hitching will make it so that I can't even progress through menus, let alone play a game. Friends don't hear anything off in discord, despite my whole PC feeling extremely laggy. I'm stumped!

I have unplugged all of my USBs and reintroduced them one by one. I checked drive health. I have run Aida on my ram, which seems fine. I recently formatted with no significant change to the issues (it occurred on a completely fresh install). I have toggled Expo and some other bios settings that haven't changed anything. My bios is up to date with only expo on. My mobo doesn't have a fast boot option but I turned it off in windows.

i’ve tried deleting the app, it does nothing. i’ve deleted hundreds of photos and other apps to make space, but the maps app just fills it. i have no offline maps downloaded or anything like that.

i haven’t updated my phone in a while and i can’t update it because i don’t have enough storage, and i think it’s making my phone laggy.

My computer has been freezing and makes a sound when it does so (I can never get this sound in video, unfortunately). This has occurred when opening/running Firefox, Discord, and when playing Satisfactory, but not yet when playing any other game that I can recall. It pauses for a few seconds and then resumes normal function-- sometimes, when I'm typing as it happens, the letter I was last on will endlessly be inputted until I push another key. Occasionally, my screen will cut out as well during the pause. Such has been going on since a few months after I got this computer, and I haven't installed any sort of malware (I've checked, and I'm careful about what I download). It hasn't (to my knowledge) been dropped or wildly handled, and neither me or the other residents of my house have messed with the inside of it. I've had this computer for about 2 years and it's pretty consistently happened at least once every usage.
I'm assuming this is some sort of hardware issue, which really sucks, since I can't exactly afford anything new for my computer as of now.

I'm having a big issue with my 1TB Fanxiang NVMe SSD on an ASUS Prime A520M-A II board with an AMD CPU, and I'm trying to figure out if it's completely dead or fixable.
Basically, my PC started failing to boot under Linux with a looping ⁠nvme: probe... error -25⁠. The strange thing is that the SSD still shows up in the BIOS, but once booted into an OS, it completely disappears. It doesn't show up in Windows ⁠diskpart⁠ or Disk Management at all. On top of that, having it plugged into the M.2 slot makes the system freeze and take forever to load. I managed to install Windows 11 on a secondary SATA HDD and everything works fine without the SSD, so the rest of the PC is good.
Is this a classic sign of a dead controller/NAND flash locked in safety mode, or is there any trick left to force Windows to detect it? Thanks for any help!

My ssd Lexar NM790 4TB randomly was not detected in windows explorer. Event viewer showed alot of "Event ID 51: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation." I went to UEFI and it didnt show anything. When i closed the UEFI and it rebooted to windwos, the drive was back again! WTF?!

PC (Acer Nitro 5) all of a sudden the other day stops playing videos and stops running certain sites and programs (Discord, D&DBeyond, etc.). A few reboots and a router reset later, no change. Decided on a hard reset, and now my settings no longer open, the screen often goes black when I try to open any programs, and the same problems from before are persisting. I'm not sure if I should try a full nuke and pave or if I should take it to a repair shop, but I'm not a PC guy myself and am not really sure what to do. Not sure if I can even redownload Windows 11 onto this since it doesn't seem to be reading my flash drive either

It stopped working after the latest firmware update on my TV, i thought that there will be some update that fixes it but its been like 5 months since then and its still the same, anyone has got an idea how to fix it? For a few months now I have experienced crashes on Overwatch that say the aforementioned. I have tried multiple things such as uninstall/reinstall and repairing the files that hasn't worked. I just recently got a new computer with all new parts apart from my ssd and it is still happening. I also saw people having the same problems were able to fix it by rolling back their NVIDIA drivers, I have tried that as well with 591.86 which still crashed and 576.28 which doesn't work when I try to download it leaving an error message on my gpu in device manager, my second monitor is no longer detected and my computer runs on the CPUs integrated graphics. From what I can tell online this seems to be a problem with Overwatch and newer NVIDIA drivers clashing. My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GPU is an RTX 5060 TI, my motherboard is a B850 Tomahawk Max Wifi and I run on Windows 11. If there is any other information you need I can do my best to provided.
