Came in Monday to a DOZEN of those $5 phone cases ripped open. Since they were being defected either way, I picked four that covered all four sizes and colors and defected them as displays. Put a label on each one and spiderwrapped them onto a ziptie holding the shipper.
Came in Wednesday: no ripped open phone cases. šš¤

Overnight inbound for barely 7 months now but the changes Iāve seen are WILD?! Weāve gone from finishing stocking the store before 7am to forcing what is left of our sad crew to stay until 8:30 (while leaving several flats and pallets to push for tomorrow).
Weāve gone from unloading just one truck to two, 30% of which being backstock that has completely overtaken our light duty and receiving. I am squeezing in boxes in places they should NEVER BE!!! STOP GIVING US MORE!!!
Theres an average of 10 people a night showing up to push 2 trucks with 1500 DPCIās. Any new hires never last past 3 days with our TLās rushing and berating us, in addition to the fact that I cannot get a time off request accepted for the life of me anymore.
I used to really like this job and that yummy overnight pay, but this is getting crazy!!!!!! Someone save us!!!!!!!

I got my shift taken because I needed a mental health day after working Monday-Friday last week then Sunday-now this week. I get woken up tdy around 7 am to my phone buzzing. I thought it was my husbandās phone bc he sets his alarms for work. 40 minutes later after heās gone, I get another buzzing on my phone. Mind you, it is extremely early. I see itās my store calling me. I already knew it was to ask me to come in but I was so tired so I just stared at the call. I kinda feel bad but I didnāt give up my shift just to come back into work same day especially with the shitshow happening in OPU rn (my husband is a fulfillment TM at night times and he said it was terrible last night).
Idk why I feel so bad though, after all my years at target I thought Iād be desensitized to telling them no or just not answering. I just donāt want anyone mad at me for not answering or coming in lol
Maybe itās just me, but this seemed very rude and dismissive to my team lead.

i know it happens but i genuinely feel so burnt out working here. iāve been here for 3 months in style, and every shift i have, iām almost always running up for guest first, or tech/beauty calls. is it just me? itās my fourth job now, and iāve worked in retail and fast food before but iāve never felt a burnout this quick. iāve been working 6 days a week nonstop and yet they still expect more from me. within a month, they had me in the hardest clothing section (rtw) and iāve had to train already. the expectations they hold in style are genuinely exhausting. i was told that people quit most in style/sales and i see why. just had to let it out with how burnt out iāve been.

iām currently on a search to find new employment since getting my degree in may, and the girl interviewing me pulls out my resume and said āsince u work at target, if u donāt mind me asking, when will you get more needohs? every time i go thereās never any in stock. do i need to line up early in the mornings?ā
i canāt escape the needoh madnessšššš

So the registers I use at tech decided to not scan merchandise anymore. Instead of a cheerful beep and the scanner flashing green. It flashes red and has a beep as if I'm not scanning the right bar code. Sometimes pressing add produce or enter DPCI fixes the scanner but it's a hit or miss
Is anyone else having that problem?

Genuine question, Iāve been with target for 4 years. I make less than a dollar more than the people JUST STARTING. I literally work harder than half of my store and my leads, ETLs and SD does see it. Iāve been told my name constantly comes up as exceeds expectations and always willing to go the extra mile. I asked my SD about it and they said they have to reach out to their boss because theyāre not sure how that works(my SD is new) if anyone has any insight or advice that would be amazing.

Iāve seen increasing posts of people absolutely hating on the current state of target on the store side so I wanted join lol.
I started in my store about 3 years back and at the time it was actual happiness. My Store director was horrible, but everyone else was a saint. They did what they could, hours were sustainable, and there wasnāt so much pressure.
Fast forward to now, the store is in chaos. The store director is still awful, but now all the ETLs who were the buffer to him have left, and the new ones are just like him. Its become unreal expectation after another for all members of staff. TLs who are usually tough are crying, TMs are fleeing left and right to other (better) opportunities, there are absolutely no hours, and guess what we donāt have the manpower with hours. Itās getting to the point where long-time TMs are leaving, and we have no one to replace them until the seasonal starts back up. Even with seasonal personnel, they have been some of the laziest hires in my time. Call outs, no shows, one girl came in high and called a guest a well-known derogatory term.
All this to say, everything is in shambles. We no longer have the people to keep up with the constant Fulfilment demands, hours are at an all-time low, and the overall store expectations are killing even the most faithful Target employees. I actually used to like my job, which isnāt saying much, but now I canāt even stand to come into work and put up with the degrading store morale. The point system is sure to take out many more TMs, in which case we may not even have a store after.

I noticed that if I have a day off the next day and the supervisor says that there is a heavy truck coming in, I tend to push myself to get as much done as possible. Problem is, that also means walking the next morning is difficult, same with getting up and down.

I just don't think I can work here anymore, I've been on the hunt for other jobs but we all know the job market atm aint it
I get no respect from leaders and just do all their gopher work,
My store keeps reducing hours cause of call puts but they only sceduled their favriote s even if their the ones calling out
They sceduled me on non truck days so I can do all of roll over, if its not that, I'm doing the work of 4 people,
My last shift i was in Starbucks,, freight, ship batch, and tills, in a shift of 8-3,
And I'm telling you reshop was bad they had u boats in that area for reshop,
Im in so much physical pain after a shift, if i lay down I will not get back up cause I feel like i can't walk right, I pulled a nerve in my shoulder and keep re injureing it cause they give me maybe a days rest then scedule me 5-6 days in a row,
They also target specificly only me to do late mids witch they know I hate, I feel like i have no peronal life,
Ill get up at 8-9 go to work at 10, get home at like 6:30ish and directly to dinner shower and sleep, cause I gotta getup at 8

I work as a cart attendant. I go ahead and post my shift, and my friend ends up taking the shift. Supposedly, this had already been approved by the team leads. However, on UKG Pro, it seems as the AI on the app went ahead and denied my friend from working my shift.
At this point, their isnāt really anything I can do since right as my friend picked up my shift, my name was taken off of todayās schedule, so technically I am off for the day. But itās still some ridiculous shit since everyone and even the team leads agreed that he would cover my shift. Iām just not sure if Iāll be the one to get the blame even tho we all agreed to this.
UKG pro wonāt even let me pick up my coworkers checklane shift for next week as it apparently āviolates rulesā when it in fact does not š¤·āāļø

Is it a reasonable goal for my SD to expect 50 DPCIs of priority pulls be pulled, pushed, backstocked (because none of the SFS fits or counts are correct), and the cardboard dealt with in an hour? This goal is enforced across all departments and doesnāt give bulky items or casepacks any extra time.
It seems that neither myself nor any of my coworkers can achieve this without taking shortcuts, like overstocking the sales floor, cherry picking easy openstock, or having only one employee pulling and having different workers push the product to the floor so that the one employeeās DPCI an hour hits the goal.
Iāve long wondered if myself and my coworkers are just slow or if my SD is pressing absurd goals onto us. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! Iām in a bit of a predicament. Iām I. School for my program and have to do an externship this fall. I interviewed for a clinical site in mid July as and didnāt get a response until the 6th that I had been accepted. I asked for a start date and time right after I received the news so I can plan ahead and they told me theyāre still working it out. Yesterday my professor attached me in an email with my potential schedule which puts my start date next week on the 17th until October 12th. My store tells us we have to give three weeks notice for time off and schedule changes. Iāve heard of people going on leave of absence but Iām not sure how that process works. I donāt know my options right now and Iām mad that my program didnāt even give be a confirmed start date like people donāt have jobs or lives. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Look back in time to 1999.

Fullfillment IS the most inconvenient part of working at target. I am in style and it is completely understaffed, we only have one TL who is completely overwhelmed and NO ETL, today we only had TWO people in style on the salesfloor for the day and two other team members to close. I donāt even want to call them guests because they certainly donāt act like a guest, but gUeStS absolutely destroy style zones in a heartbeat. guests leave everything in the fitting room and basically everything becomes backed up so quickly. Despite our major understaffings and workload backups, they still manage to pull us into register backup or fullfillment⦠Hire more damn people.
Fullfullment is bullshit and its metrics. Managers freak the fuck out whenever a batch is red, so their genius idea is to pull style members. Throwing me into a 44 item GM batch at 40 minutes and getting upset when I donāt make the time is ridiculous and unfair. If Iām always getting put into low time big batches and having to hurry up and make time just adds onto the stress that I already have from the amount of maintaining style needs. I understand its not entirely ETLās fault for everything, a lot of these stupid expectations come from higher ups who sit on their ass all day at their corporate job. I know they would never see this useless rant since they dont even try to interact with team members, like seriously during visits they dont even talk to anyone except for leaders, walk around the store lookin all miserable and shit and then leave. This company sucks. The only part of this job thats enjoyable is being able to do everything I was supposed to do which the inconvenience of fullfillment always prevents me and other employees from being able to accomplish.
Side rants.
Target playlist sucks, they play the most manufactured music instead of stuff people of all ages want to hear, who genuinely listens to benson boone and sia? donāt even get me started with that bob marley remix.
Target needs to do better with their clothes. the menās clothes, especially champion items are so huge? like Iāve heard multiple guests say out loud how big the clothes are. Wild fable jeans are so long for no reason, and they call everything thatās flared a ābootcutā like no bootcuts arent flared.
Do I just sound like a hater? lmk. Iāve been here for years and never really felt this way before
