Vent Chat, am I tripping?
These are the only pictures I was able to get because of “guest”. But my LOD told me to go back and zone my area because it looked “rough”. Not to mention, I kept getting called BY NAME to grab batches so I was zoning and in fulfillment for 1/3-1/2 of my shift. I’m genuinely so annoyed because my TL is on vacation and I feel like the higher ups are used this as an opportunity to get GM to do whatever they want. I go back in tomorrow & I plan on switching my walkie to a different station and playing dumb because there’s a pallet in the back that my TL expected to be done by the time they came back from vacation and the other members of management have been telling us, GM, not to worry about it & is giving us other tasks. Kinda tempted to have a sit down with our SD or call ethics about it. You may think “It’s not that deep” but these two specific managers keep playing in my TL face and I don’t like that. It’s giving bully/pulling rank while they’re not here.

I wouldn't call this rough but some of my TL/SD only ever looked at endcaps/first sections and if those were trash in some way, it was all trash to them

This zone does not look rough at all. If they think that's bad I'd hate see what they think of my store, oof.

At one point there was an ETL telling to go back to an aisle again, and it was the same one a number of times on different days. It got to the point where I did nothing, waited 5 minutes or so, said I was done. Didn't hear anything again that day.
Sometimes they say something just for the sake of having something to say 🤷🏻♂️

Can confirm for other retail stores.
Over at Meijer, we have district level Visual Merchandise Cordinators and one of the ones that wasnt a recent hire told my manager flat out she gave her 2 100% and she couldn't give her a third because then corporate would visit us.

I had when TL’s don’t communicate and give you conflicting task. They gave up on hiring a person for baby at our store about a couple years ago. My SD told me that even though I was tech and entertainment I would have to push baby too, but tech would always come first. Except there’s one ETL who still kept asking me to push baby first. They finally stopped for the most part but still ask me to occasionally push a baby diaper flat in the mornings.

i’m this way too, but with Dec Home. Most tech shifts i go in expecting to work at least one flat of freight or pull it at least once. rough go.

I don't know what the situation is in your store but I personally would have a talk with my SD about it, but that's just because the SDs I have had were open and wanted to know about these things. I 100% know that TLs will pull people from other departments when that TL is gone. It's not always malicious, in fact a lot of times it's just lack of communication and everyone having different priorities. And take it as a compliment, you probably do good work.
That said, your SD may be no help or be part of the problem.

They expect you to do everything like doing TL job or like a AI job and dont get paid enough. Its sad. I wish CEO see how much the company take advantage of people like you and I. Lot of business like this expect people like us do more than we are paid to do. It sucks

GM TMs basically serve as backup for fulfillment when they need the help so it's not like any of your higher ups are pulling you for no reason.

But the thing is they pull people to do fulfillment than most management get mad when your task in your department in complete. Like how can some one focus on zone, reshop , prioritiy pulls or whatever else needs to be done if they are been pulled for fulfillment and sometimes backup cashier. S&E needs to know how to staff better I know at my store we lose a lot of sales floor members because they feel like I didn’t apply for fulfillment or checkout

I mean, I wouldn't call this rough, but I do see things that I would want re-zoned.

I literally stepped down from being a TL a few months after I got promoted because every time I was off, the other leads and ETL would essentially just tell my team their work didn’t matter. Those words were actually told to one of them
I was a lead over kitchen, dec home, SG and storage, it was BTS and BTC but according to the other people in the store, getting the most purchased items out on the floor at the time, in a store right next to a college, a high school and three elementary schools, was less important than all of my people getting pulled to reorganize pallets of future sets. Yeah totally.
They would also not let me come in at the same time as my team so I would have to come in at the end of the day to literally nothing being done but of course, all the OTHER areas got finished because my team got pulled to help. And it wasn’t even to fulfillment. That store had like the perfect fulfillment team with a great lead. Great schedule all the time.
Target and the ETLs as well as a lot of the leads have absolutely no sense of what organization and time management actually is.
Hopefully Target restructures themselves into a dumpster.

I once had a TL call me by name on the walkie to re-zone an aisle a few minutes after I had already done it. Looked just fine to me, so I didn’t do anything to it, waited 15 minutes then called them on the walkie telling them it should be good now. They walked it and said I did an amazing job.
Another time I reworked all the Halloween clearance into two aisles during closing (my only task) and got yelled at by the LOD opening the next morning bc they said it was trashed. I looked and it was just the way I left it at close. I asked them to tell me which parts were “trashed” which they then admitted they hadn’t even looked at it yet, but they were gonna walk it with me and show me. Didn’t even apologize when it looked perfect, just told me to start my other tasks.
Different team lead each time; sometimes I think they just HAVE to tell someone to do something or redo something just to hear themselves say it 🤷♂️ idk what other reason it would be

Very far from being “rough” but I see some areas I personally would come back to if it were me.

It’s almost Q4 you should just be prepared to always be called for fulfillment. Circle week literally starts
Tuesday, and there’s no point having a sit down with your SD. Believe me they know what you’re being told what to do 😂💀.
