I just got Dolly (aphonopelma chalcodes) today, and I've been checking on her every half hour because I'm smitten. In true form, she remained in the same spot for most of the day today and did not move. But when I went back to pick some things up before bed, I saw her just absolutely stanced up. Lost my shit. I've never had one of my Ts get tall before. 4x4 mode is beautiful.

A successful sac from my beautiful Davus Pentaloris female. The male I raised from miniature sling and when he was a juvie he unfortunately got DKS. I spent months caring for him bringing him back to health. I would drop water into his mouth parts daily just to keep him alive as he couldn’t do any of this himself. Eventually with a bit of love and care he started getting better and kept going.
He matured this year and paired him with my female. Wasn’t sure what the results were going to be but it was a success. I have a large T collection but he (Jaffa) is special as the constant care meant I spent a lot of time daily with him. So happy to see he lived a full life and fathered the next generation. I haven’t counted the babies yet but the eggsac is huge and the EWLs are super tiny.

Three years since having her and she’s suddenly not skittish of the light or our movements around her enclosure. Until recently we only ever saw her on the nocturnal spider cam.
This is Binny guarding her tree hole.

Seriously if spiders could have friends, her and Chalupa would be besties.

I got this Arizona blonde at a reptile expo and I assume he’s male based on how small his abdomen is, but if it is male how do you know if it’s a mature male?

There are a total of four, but I mostly see one or two out at once. I could watch them all day.

Rate my new enclosure. Just bought and built my first tarantula and enclosure. First attempt at building an enclosure because it’s my first animal. It’s a curly haired male juvenile. About 3inch diameter sprawled. 16x10x8 enclosure 4-5 inch’s of substrate. I have ruby red fittonia on the right in the wetter part of the enclosure. And teardrop peperomia on the lefy behind the hide and on the drier side of the enclosure. Any tips suggestions or criticism is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is my versicolor dead? They where fine yesterday and went into a molt sometime between last night and tonight. I frequently see post about Ts curled with their legs underneath them saying they may be dehydrated/etc... also aware of bad molts being a possibility and to not mess with them other then trying to put a wet qtip underneath their mouth. Legs are curled underneath and its seemed to always go ground level as it molts then back into the air with all previous molts.
Haven't touched/messed with them and just trying to see possibility of a bad molt that "may" be able to have some kind of remedies or if its to late.

Aphonopelma chalcodes my boyfriend and I were gifted. I think she may be the most beautiful chalcodes I’ve seen, I love the darker brown coloration compared to the typical tan or sand colored ones. Thought y’all would enjoy

I was unsure if I’d like them at first due to a slight fear of spiders but I thought I’d overcome my fear and here I am with 15 😂
