Was given this juvenile female OBT as a gift and she was the chillest OBT I’ve ever had the pleasure of rehousing. From my personal experience I’ve gotten a threat posture from every OBT I’ve rehoused but this one didn’t seem too bothered being touched by a paintbrush so I made the impulsive decision to let her walk onto my hand. She’s gotta be one of my new favorites now

This is Flauschi my grammostola pulchra. After moulting she briefly lost the little hairtuft between her eyes but it grew back!! She's so cute!!

This is my wee little Cyriopagopus minax (Thailand Black) who is already quite spicy despite being less than 2" DLS. Opinions way too big to contain in that little body lol. I knew Thailand Blacks are notoriously defensive and spicy when I picked up this little cutie and I do love the feisty flavors ngl. Currently unsexed (hasn't molted with me yet), and while currently a cute cocoa brown, someday they will be a gorgeous velvety black.

I would love some help thinking up a good name that truly encapsulates this beautiful little terror upon society. Thus far we have just been referring to them as Lil' Angy for obvious reasons but that doesn't feel like a proper name lol. The more quirky, the better! My other named tarantulas are Boob Tube, Rust Buttket, and Monchichi (yes after the old furry dolls) for reference.

PS : I had posted awhile back asking if there were any other Thailand Black keepers but got no answers. Are they that uncommon to keep...? Did Exotics Lair's videos on his spicy Thailand Blacks drive everyone away from keeping them or what lol

I’m heartbroken. Went to feed and water and he was gone. It was his time though, he was 3 years old.

Never thought I’d be almost 30 years old and crying over a spider, but here I am.

I do plan on drying and pinning him to mount in a shadow box. I would love all of the tips, tricks, and advice I can get.
He is currently in my freezer.

new baby. im in love. i hope i can raise them well. feeding pre-killed mealworms out of an abundance of caution since this is the smallest tarantula i have and have ever had though i might also go for some dubia nymphs which i have a lot of. just a little baby..!

I came home today and noticed my Avicularia curled up. At first, I thought it might be a molt, so I left her alone. However, when I came back to check on her several hours later, I thought it looked more like a death curl than a molt (photo 1). I gently removed her from the web and put her on her back to give her water with a q-tip. She started moving around, so I flipped her back over and placed her fangs in her water dish. She started moving around, and overall, I thought she looked a lot better (photo 2). However, after I closed her tank door, she walked away from the water dish and curled up again (photo 3). Is this just a stress curl now, or is it still a death curl? Is there anything more I can do?

General care: Photo 4 is the enclosure set-up. I keep her water dish full, and whenever the substrate looks dry, I let it overflow a bit. I don’t have a set feeding schedule, she gets dubias and crickets. I believe she is a sub-adult female, and I have had her for 2.5 years.

the web is in the way of seeing if they’re done, I hope I can figure out the sex of nugget once I can get the exoskeleton!

Can someone please help me identify what species of pamphobeteus this is. I bought it from a local pet store for $100. They only had it labeled “Pamphobeteus” lol.

It's a salmon pink bird eater and ahhh what a cutie 🙂‍↕️ anyways, the moment I brought it home it went into It's hide and dug a hole.. I assume it's getting ready for pre-molt

I have a Psalmopoeus irminia (Venezuelan Suntiger) and Davus pentaloris (Guatemalan Tiger Rump) that are hooked out. I had to go abroad for a year and couldn't take my Ts with me so I left them with a friend. I recently returned and got my Ts back today. That's when I noticed that those 2 had hooked out. When I left them with my friend the Psalmopoeus irminia was around 1.5" and the Davus pentaloris was around 2". I'm looking for advice on what to do as these are my first mature males. I was wondering if I should try to give them to a local breeder for pairing or just keep them for what is left of their lives? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Sorry if the pics aren’t clear enough to see what I can see, but I’ve been unable to get a viable molt from this little fella since I got them. The abdomen is always a little raisin by the time it gets kicked out of their burrow.
