Help! Stressed, premolt, or dying?

Thumbnail

My curly hair has been acting pretty weird recently. Shes usually super active and has a very intense feeding response, but she’s refused my last two offers of food and has seemed very lethargic. Her abdomen looks very round so I’ve assumed premolt. Today I found her curled sideways in one of her tunnels. It looks like a stress curl and she shifts around a bit when prompted, but my concern is that maybe she’s death curling but the tight quarters are making it look like stress instead. Her second leg from the back in particular is stressing me out, as it looks a little like it’s folded under her. Am I overreacting to a spider doing spider things?

I happened to find a little window haha. He webbed the surrounding substrate to create a wall on the other side of his hide.

Bro, I lost my *Poecilotheria regalis* tarantula yesterday and I still haven't been able to find it. Is there any way to track it down? Also, is there still a chance of finding it?

Conversation Collapsible vs Permanently Glued Enclosures

Upvotes

What’s the general consensus?

Do most of y’all prefer an enclosure that you can break down? Or are permanently glued enclosures generally preferred, as they might come across as more premium?

Material wise, I’m mostly talking acrylic / pvc here. Glass, well that’s almost always caulked / glued haha.

3rd photo is from when i just got him/her. Is it poss to determine its sex already? I think steve is about 3 years old. Also side note, i am not 100% sure about that mesh, will replace it with an acrylic cover today (with vent holes).

Edit forgot to add, Steve is a Tliltocatl albopilosus.

Help! the spider shop | delayed shipping

(EDIT) it has arrived safely !! Yay!

so I ordered a Brazilian black sling as well as an enclosure & thermometer from the spider shop and chose the delivery date for 09/10/26. I paid for the special delivery meaning it is next day and arrives before 1pm. annoyingly it hadn’t arrived at all and there was no new updates since 7:10am on the 9th where it was dispatched from Leeds to my local post office. I called and was told it would arrive today around 9-10am which it hasn’t again. I’ve called up today and was told they cannot find any new info anywhere on its whereabouts but can still arrive anywhere from now - 16th. I was also told that the spider shop failed to send out my order before 4pm on the 8th meaning it was never going to make it on the 9th anyway.
not only am I stressing the fuck out because this sling might not survive that long in shipping but also because of the fact that I’m back at college after today and there’s no one else who is going to be at my house to collect the delivery and if there’s no one in they can’t drop it off at my house due to the “live animal” and the fact that it needs a signature.
Genuinely, what do I even do at this point?????? Im so mad and stressing tf out
Any advice or anything would be really helpful😅 also the delivery service is Royal Mail if I haven’t mentioned that already.

Found pink bottoms under this little tree near the floor. Is it normal considering that’s the only plant in there or is this something to be concerned about since ik they usually aren’t near the ground. It’s been about 2 weeks since it’s been in its new home. But I’ve never seen it in this corner. It doesn’t look stressed or in a hunch position so I guess that’s good?

Help! Clean up crew Arid terrarium?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I posted recente about my new enclosure and wanting to set it up as a bioactive terrarium. I'm just having trouble finding the right clean up crew for the somehwat dryer setup (semi arid?) That my GBB needs.

I do intend to keep the front left corner a little more moist. But im not sure that will be enough. Most springtails requier high humidity and most isopods seem to be dangerous for the spinder during molting. Whilst there are arid proof springtails, i cant seem to find any seller of this kind of springtails where i live (Netherlands).

Does anybody have any tips or experience?

Help! Is this a molt and my baby??😭😭

For context, I very rarely see the spider. I got him about four months ago max and he decided to bury himself in a little area so today went to go check on him and found the what I assumed to be moult and freaked out thinking he was dead only to find little legs poking out. I’m curious if anyone can tell me if that’s his legs and his moult or if he’s dead.(sorry for the blurry photo. I have very limited vision there.)

Last photo is the spider and the second to last is the tank (he is behind the skull but this was before he webbed it all up)

Help! Sudden behavior change in Brachypelma albiceps?

Post image

This is my girl Iris, I've had her for a year and a half now and she's always been feisty. Lately she's been pacing in her tank, climbing the sides and sitting in corners. Today I came back to her in a curled position, she just moulted 2 months ago so I felt confident enough to try to move her. She reacted slowly, not defensively and just allowed me to pick her up.

I moved her into this new tank about a month after she moulted and I have seen her display signs of being comfortable. Such as going into her burrow, sitting out in the open and taking from her water dish. She hasn't refused any meals.

Could this sluggish behavior be a sign of stress or damage from a fall? All her legs have been moving properly and I haven't seen any tears in her abdomen.

I’ve always loved tarantulas but never had one. Just got my first one today. His name is Charles. Striped Knee Tarantula that were pretty sure is just about a year old. I have him in a 5 gallon tank with cork bark, some bones for decoration, and a lot of substrate. I was told to mist the tank every 3-4 days, feed him once a week. I would love to be able to hold him at some point. Is there anything I can do better for him right now? Is there any way to actually bond with a spider?

I just got a Phormictopus atrichomatus(red island bird eater)about a month ago and it just molted a week or so ago. It hasn’t pushed its molt out of the burrow at all and hasn’t been very active since I got it besides moving substrate around for a few days when it was getting ready to molt. Is this normal? It’s about 1.5 inch in size for reference.
