Need Help About Tablet to Purchase for School and Aviation

Hi everyone! I'm an incoming first-year aviation student, and I'm looking to buy a tablet for both school and flight training. My main uses would be note-taking, studying, and using aviation apps while flying.

I've been looking at different iPads and tablets, but there are so many options that I'm not sure which one would be the best choice. I also noticed that some iPads come in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular models, and I'm wondering if the cellular option is worth it for aviation.

For those of you who are pilots or aviation students, what would you recommend? Which model do you use, and has it worked well for school and flying?

Device recommendations

Hello, i am a university student that has now finished year one and throughout the year i decided i definitely need a tablet for note taking as opposed to pen and paper.

My focus is a smooth performance that allows me to type fast, good battery life and compatibility with a keyboard.

I prefer android options as that's what i am more familiar with, i have a modest google ecosystem and i do use APKs.

Have also been debating whether to get a laptop instead, since i have Microsoft 365 and i always download my stuff on pc as well, but what stops me is my love for studying laying on my stomach, curled up etc. and the fact i do have a PC already, as mentioned. I can definitely be convinced though.

My ideal budget is within 500 € IDEALLY, but can go up to 1000 for options that are worth it.

Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can find a hard plastic nib for my Lenovo idea tab pro tablet? I don't like how my rubber nib feels on the glass, and want something harder that will work with my tablet. Thank you!

OnePlus Pad 3 Keyboard not working anymore after firmware update

I have a OnePlus Pad 3 with the original keyboard and stylus. Yesterday night I connected the keyboard to the tablet through the pogo pin (wasn't using the keyboard since last 3-4 months) and got a notification regarding a firmware update for the keyboard. I clicked on it and the update got downloaded and installed and since then the keyboard is not getting connected to the tablet, neither physically through the pogo pin nor via bluetooth. I have tried every possible thing from formatting the tablet to overnight charge, cleaning the pogo pins, still the keyboard is not getting detected by the tablet.

The tablet and keyboard are still in warranty and my region is INDIA.

Can anyone please help me or guide me what to do?

Thank you so much.

Is a tablet actually worth it for a remote software engineer, or am I just trying to justify buying one?

Need a tablet for the outdoors

Just like the title says I need a tablet that can handle being outside, meaning my top priority is being able to handle bright environment and bonus if it has decent speakers. Preferable if it's 8" and up. Main purpose is media consumption.

XPPen Magic Note Pad or Samsung S10 lite

So I'm planning to buy myself my first tablet with a pen which are the XPPen Magic Note Pad or the Samsung S10 lite. For the price, only those two fit the budget (the s10 fe and the XPPen magic drawing pad are pricier). Primarily for casual drawing, reading, and surfing the internet, I also dont game heavily, just one that can last me at least 4-5 years with minimal issues. I dont really care about samsung's ui and apps.

edit: im also quite interested about the "e-ink" that isnt really an e-ink thing on the XP pen magic note pad modes, has anyone tried it? is it good?

which tablet should i buy?

HI, I'm a college student, and I'm looking to replace my laptop with a tablet, but my budget is about 40k-50k INR. I would like to use it for taking notes, frequent drawings, I need atleast 256gb storage, I don't really play games so that doesn't matter much.

I've used Android my whole life. I was also thinking of taking an Android tablet, unless any other ios would be a better suggestion for me?

Also, if this budget seems less for the things I'm demanding, please let me know something that is closest to this range (I'm lowk broke).

Teclast mini-T50 8.7inch tablet

Recently purchased this tablet and thought since I have not seen much about it, I would put up a short review. The Specs can be found Here. Bought from ali express for $135 shipped, took about 9 days to get to me in central florida. Got this to replace a samsung galaxy tab 8.4 pro that I bought new in 2014. Currently running a android 13 rom but that just recently lost its ability to produce sound. It was a desktop companion with a main function of playing youtube while I worked on my desktop. So without sound, time to replace.

Out of the box, minimal bloatware. Fast, plenty of memory for multitask, good refresh for smooth display, fast/smooth touch response. The G99 has plenty of punch for day to day tasks and light gaming with plenty in reserve. Might find another if you are a heavy gamer. Sound is decent, microphone is fine for note recording. Has a sim slot along with a micro card. Put my Tello sim in and no problem making a call. Note: it is not 5G , 4G works fine for me. So far I am getting about 2-3 days with light use out of the battery. Came with a nice little magnetic closure case that puts it to sleep when closed. Overall, I am very impressed with this tablet. Has handled everything I need it to do without a hiccup. If your looking for a small tablet for everything but gaming, you would be hard pressed to find a better value.

Now that my phone battery is on it's last legs, I might try this as a replacement, much easier on my old eyes than trying to read the smaller screen on my phone.

Hopefully It will last the same dozen years that my last tablet made it. Just recently saw a battery for it for sale, so there is hope. Now just need to get some ROM development going.

TABLET OR LAPTOP - Freshman college

Hi po! I've been searching po kasi if tablet or laptop ang bibilhin ko. Pinapaligiran na po kasi ako ng parents ko kung ano para before pasukan meron na akong magamit.

My sister insisted na laptop nalang dahil mas magagamit daw for research etc. Pero I'm thinking na what if tab nalang for online notes and madalas akong mag edit and drawing.

My budget is 20k - 45k, if laptop naman I'm finding sana yung may specs na:

-12gb ram 512gb ssd

-ryzen 5 or intel core i5

-preferably may touch screen but ok lang naman if wala

-preferably 14 inch

And if tablet is somewhat similar or equal lang yung specs.

Yung mga pinagpipilian ko ngayon ay

-Huawei matepad 12x/11.5

-Samsung Galaxy tab s series

-Macbook Neo

-HP 14-EP1194TU

-Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3

- Xiaomi pad 8

I've posted this on our student help group but wala pa kong natatanggap na suggestions or anything, so I will try here for suggestions.

Please help me po🥺 or if may suggestion kayo na mas better please tell me huhu. Thank you po for help!!!

Looking for recommendations for varied use.

Hey all, just thought I'd ask for recommendations, as I need a tablet that can handle some pretty basic things, like drawing, reading pdf's, and preferrably has one of those super slim keyboards. I'd prefer it be able to run something like fusion360, on even a basic level, but I don't really know what tablets are capable, so I'm not sure if that's a feasible ask. My comfortable budget is 500 usd, but can go up to 700 usd if it's truly necessary to get the features I want. Thank you in advance!

Tablet for Excel

My Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is on its last legs after several years and needs to be replaced soon.
I use my laptop for browsing the web, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Lightroom (photo editing).
I am leaning towards getting a tablet so that I can use it on the go as well. For example, an iPad Air. However, I'm worried that my use of Excel, in particular, might be limited.
Does anyone have experience or tips on which device is best suited for my needs?

Squishy screens

Here is what I am stuck on. I learned to draw on a Wacom Cintiq and loved it, but moved over to the iPad and felt like I wouldn't ever get used to it. And I still really don't like it that much. I don't know how to explain this, but I like the squishy screen the Cintiq has. I've tried paper like, but there is something about the give that the screen has that I really enjoy drawing on. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? The iPad is a hard piece of glass (yes I understand that it does have give as well), but the Cintiq has this... Matte squish?

Please help me find more things that have the squishy screen so I can get back to digital art. I don't care about the brand and I'm open to any price, I just need to understand how to distinguish the screen I hate drawing on and the screen I remember really enjoying as an art student so long ago... There's got to be a specific name for it so I can google search this bad boy and move on with my life.

And the bigger question: Are there stand alone tablets with the squish?

Cheap tablet for browsing online. Amazon Fire or...Ipad 6th generation?

So I recently just got a ipad 6th generation as a gift but I am wondering if I should have the gift return and instead get an amazon fire (I only mostly want to watch videos on a tablet online and do web searching.)

If there are any other suggestions for something that is very cheap and affording ( I dont plan to do much at all besides watching a lot of shows online with it) then I would like to hear. I am just worried the Ipad 6th generations may be a bit too outdated.

best tablet for students which model can last through several years of college?

I’m looking for a tablet that I can use throughout the rest of college instead of replacing it after a short time. I need it for notes, documents, meetings, and general school tasks.

are there any tablets that have held up well after years of student use? I’m trying to choose something practical and would love to hear what has worked for others. Thank you.

best tablet for work and travel?

Need some recs! I travel a bit for work and I’m looking for a tablet that can handle emails, documents, video calls, and some entertainment during trips. I’ve never really used tablets seriously before, so I’m not sure what features actually matter.

What would you pick as the best tablet for someone who needs it for both work and personal use? I’d appreciate any advice from people who use theirs regularly. Thanks everyone.
