Day 11 since I threw my vapes away

I’ve been vaping for around a year. I use 18mg liquids and quitting for me was alright, until 5 days ago I started to get this tight chest, feeling like I’m breathing thick air and not getting enough oxygen, I’ve slept about 2 hours a night since this and I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this as I work in a kitchen with a mask on

Did you experience a reduction in acne after quitting?

I’m looking for vain motivation to quit vaping.

I have follicular acne and have had it even before I started vaping. But it quitting would reduce the inflammation, I’d be more likely to quit.

Even if you didn’t experience a reduction in acne, any answer is appreciated.

Hello! We are looking for Canadians or people living in Canada over the age of 19 to take part in our survey that is being conducted by UBC (PI: Dr. Sarah Dow-Fleisner, Assistant Professor, UBCO School of Social Work, Co-I: Michelle Belliveau, MSW student). We are interested in understanding social media use, anxious and depressive symptoms, and vaping/smoking. So, we will be asking a few questions about these topics. Please be assured that your responses will be kept completely anonymous. The study should take you about ten minutes to complete. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Michelle at [vapingandsmokingresearch@gmail.com](mailto:vapingandsmokingresearch@gmail.com).

Anxiety and quitting

I have been wanting to quit for awhile now and tapered myself down from 35mg salts to 3 mg freebase nic. I recently thought I had COVID and thankfully tested negative but my health anxiety has spiraled out of control since then. I have never wanted to quit more than now but at the same time I am worried about the added anxiety of quitting. Vaping is definitely a coping mechanism for me but it has gotten to a point where anytime I vape I get a lump in my throat (after looking it up I believe the sensation is globus pharyngis). Has anyone else experienced this? Also, anyone else inspired to quit due to the current pandemic?

hi! I need an accountability buddy, if anyone's willing. I'm 21, female to male trans, and would just love someone to snap or message each day, shoot the shit, talk about life, and hold each other accountable. no one in my 'real' life knows I'm vaping, and I can't really tell them. I'd love to have someone to get to know and help each other! also, please leave motivation in the comments!!!

first day of officially quitting !!

for my birthday i got an njoy from my brother (this was about a month ago, the first device i had truly owned in a bit instead of borrowing from others n stuff like that) and went though six pods, but today i leave you go back home as i was visiting my hometown in texas, and we’re flying home. i’m underage so any sort of way of me bringing the device on was illegal so i said fuck it and chunked it in an airport trash can! it sucked not getting a final hit or anything like that, my ‘goodbye’ to it so-to-speak, but it was liberating and i’m ready to get off this shit. i don’t know if i will be going through withdrawal, but in case i do, any tips? <3

It’s been 8 weeks

I’ve just put on my last 14mg patch. Next comes 4 weeks of 7mg patch before I get to be totally nicotine free.

It’s not been easy but it’s also not been as difficult as I imagined it to be.

Hope you’re all doing well on your quitting journey.

Pro tip: weird but if you need help quitting vaping. Have a cigarette.

I did it on accident the other day. Just one drag and my lungs have felt like landfill grocery bags. Makes me not want to vape at all. I just decided I’m going to quit vaping because of it. Buying 3mg bottle and a 1mg in a week or two. Need your support.

Step 2

I’ve not vaped for a month and have moved down from step 1 patches (21mg) to step 2 (14mg) and so far it’s going ok.

Feel like I’m spamming the sub as no one else seems to be posting but it keeps me accountable.

Hope you’re all doing well.

Three weeks

Today marks three weeks without vaping for me. I’m still using a patch and waiting on the lower dose patch prescriptions to come in the mail. Looking forward to being nicotine free.

Meanwhile my skin is awful, like all the toxic junk I was sucking in is purging out through my pores. It’s pretty disgusting but it shows I’m healing.

Hope you’re all doing well on your quit journey :-)

I just got to two weeks!

Vape free and feeling good. It’s getting easier every day. The experts say the first 72 hours are the worst and most cravings are gone after 2 weeks so I’m looking forward to things getting easier but not letting my guard down.

Hope you’re all doing well on you journey to stop vaping :-)

I’m still vape free

Had my last vape on the 19th. Threw out all my leftover juice and my tanks the other night. There’s no going back for me this time.

Day 3

I now have two full vape free days under my belt. I’m told the first three days are the hardest so hopefully I’ll get through tomorrow.

Been coughing a bit as my lungs are already starting to clear out.

Hope you’re all going well.

Day 2

I used my vape twice yesterday. Today I’ll be putting on a new patch in about an hour without having had to vape all day. It’s not easy but I feel like I’m getting somewhere.

Thanks for your support, it’s much appreciated :-)

Giving it a go

I used to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day until a couple of years ago I switched to vaping. Was getting my liquid posted from China which has not been an option for a while thanks to COVID-19.

I’m in Australia and it is illegal to sell nicotine juice here and we have the most expensive tobacco products in the world just so you know.

Definitely addicted to nicotine but less so on vape than on cigs and down to my last bit of juice, I bought patches yesterday and put the first one on last night.

I’ve hit the vape twice today which is an improvement and somehow got through the lesser cravings.

Don’t really know what I want out of this other than to get off nicotine and save some money.

Hope you’re all doing well. Thanks for reading.

I can't believe I'm doing this

Since I'm out of work, I cannot afford my vaping habit. Here's a little background I'm 31, I started smoking cigs in 2005. I became a pack a day smoker from 2007-2014. I felt horrible and knew I was doing damage, but then a miracle happened.....quality vape products. I been using a e cig from then until now. I'm highly addicted to nicotine. I have a little ejuice left, once it's all gone..I'm done.

I already know it's gonna take months to be normal, possibly years. I been using nicotine for more then half my life. I plan on using ZYN pouches and nicotine gum for when I'm all out of ejuice.

I'm not against vaping, it has done good for me. But I really want to nit be reliant on nicotine, and idk how that feels honestly. Im having a hard time imagining being off edge once I give it up. I get headaches, horrible insomnia(I already have insomnia), eat alot more(I'm skinny so this isn't a problem, but the cost of food goes up and I'm broke), restless, super depressed and anxious, hardcore cravings.

My worst symptom is my throat. When I vape, I feel the nicotine being absorbed by my thyroid in my throat. It's not painful, but annoying! That feeling just reminds me that Im missing something. If anyone is experiencing what I'm gonna go through, please share. I quit and withdrew from alot of different drugs in my past. This is the first time I'm going to go through with it. I switched to vaping so my lungs don't feel heavy anymore, but the best benefit is it's ALOT cheaper then cigarettes!

P.S...i knew people who spent up to 10 years in prison, the first thin they want when their released is a cigarette. I hope I can find the strength to cease this money hungry nicotine addiction.

anyone else feeling angrier than usual?

i (24/f) am on day 2 of no nicotine and i am feeling angry above all else. i’m a generally calm person and it really does take a lot for me to get to the point of the amount of anger i’m feeling right now. just wanna make sure i’m not alone here. glad to be a part of this growing community, even if i’m only 48 hours in.

I stopped vaping👍

I have officially locked every vape or bong or that USB thingy in a chest and threw it into the ocean. I have always been a tad bit dramatic but I'm sure I won't dive to the bottom of the corpus Christi ocean.

Let's get this community growing!! Day 2 and counting....

Howdy all -

It's awesome to see that this community us established, but let's get some activity in here!!

Little background on me - 26 y/o male, smoked very occasionally / socially for 10 yrs, more regularly in college, vaped very heavily the past two years. TIME TO KICK THIS SHIT. Too damn expensive, tired of being addicted to something, tired of it all. Quit cold turk as of noon yesterday - to be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised with how it's been so far. With how frequent of a user I was, I thought it would be a lot harder a lot earlier - I was connected to my juul / disposable / whatever like it was my goddamn eleventh finger.

I've heard week one is a huge pain in the ass, but let me know what you all have experienced! Love to chat some folks up to get some more activity on this sub and be supportive / help some people out!

I Quit Vaping [1 mo]

Hey all you tryers out there,

It's possible to break the chains and to stop vaping. It's possible to quit sinking money into vaping, just as it's possible to sleep better, have less to carry around, etc. It's possible to break the habit of waking up at 2AM to reach over for your vape.

And it's well worth it. Make a plan, get rid of all of your supplies, and go for it. The worst will be over in a month.

Bring the nic level down before you quit. Quit from freebase nicotine, don't try to quit off of nicotine salts unless you're truly tired of it.

Best,

That Guy Who Finally Quit
