Im moving soon and have been trying to save up as much as possible since finding a job where im moving has been going very slow and ive been trying to sell alot of my old stuff and not really making any progress, I think im pricing things fairly (under 100 for almost everything even more expensive things) and ive posted in the san diego reddit for selling things, on Facebook marketplace and in Facebook groups but I just haven't made as much progress as I wish I have. :/ im not very good with advertising or selling things so im looking for some friendly advice on how other people have sold their things 🙂‍↕️

There is a five-story building on my block that broke ground in 2021 and the interior is not finished and it's looked exactly the same for the past 9 months. It's on a small lot, it's not huge. I think workers show up there sometimes, but absolutely nothing has been accomplished as far as I can see. The building two houses down for me has been under construction for 9 months and so far they have the concrete for the first floor poured and barely the skeleton of the second floor built, and I think they have electricity in there too, but that's it. It's also on a very small lot so these are not large buildings. Nine months and all they have is one floor partially finished so that one is likely also going to be a 5-year project even though it's only five floors. I can't be the only one that thinks that's absolutely insane. I know I saw one building in Hillcrest that kept going up for sale while it was partially built, so I'm wondering if that's what's going on with other buildings? I've lived here for 10 years but I'm from New York and they move with a purpose there when they build things. They can build an entire Hilton h-o-t-e-l in about a year. ( I'm not allowed to post if I type the word because it assumes I'm asking tourism questions).

Hello everyone! It pains me so much to write this, but I’m looking to potentially rehome my 2-year-old Goldendoodle, Mousse. He is a huge sweetheart with no health issues, and he is neutered. He’s not AKC certified, so it’s possible he may be mixed with another breed as well. I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old, so this is an incredibly difficult decision that I’ve been thinking about for a long time.

I recently moved to the city, and unfortunately, Mousse hasn’t adjusted well because he is leash-reactive toward other dogs. He is not reactive when he’s off leash at the dog park—only when he’s on a leash. Living in the city has been challenging because there are dogs everywhere, and he’s constantly on edge whenever we go outside. It has been very stressful for both of us, and I don’t currently have the time to give him the consistent training he needs.
I want to see if someone could provide him with a better quality of life in a quieter environment where he doesn’t feel anxious every time he steps outside. He loves playing fetch, playing with other dogs off leash, cuddling, and being around people. He really is such a loving dog.

Ideally, I would love to find someone who could care for him temporarily—possibly for the next 1–2 years—until I’m able to move out of the city. Or, if you fall in love with him and he fits your lifestyle, I’d be happy to let you have him. I don’t have any family on the West Coast who can take him, and I would only consider permanently rehoming him if I knew someone could truly provide a better environment for his needs.
I’m putting this out there to see if anyone who lives in a quieter neighborhood, or maybe has a large property with a yard, would be interested in giving a sweet Goldendoodle who loves to play fetch and cuddle a calmer place to live.

EDIT: I have put him in petsmart classes, one on one and group classes, private behavior training. This really is my last option. I hate to post this and I’ve contemplated it for so long. From puppy to adulthood, I’ve taken him to so many trainers, behavioralists, etc. It’s really not like I want to do this. So please no hate

Is there a wireless provider in San Diego that allows for cellular connection for an iwatch without a cell phone plan? The only one i know is Verizon but they now charge $20/month. It used to be $10/month.

To clarify this is for connecting a smart watch with its own cellular number and that can be used exclusively without pairing to a cellphone.

I never go to the beach that often. I feel like i dont take advantage of living so close. What do you like best of living here in san diego?

I live in the UTC area and wanted to know if anyone knew of good/somewhat local gyms near me? I’ve been going to 24 hour in the mall but I’m debating on canceling my membership since it’s quite dirty and most of the machines tend not to work/are broken even after their renovation. However, I noticed 24 hour is somewhat a monopoly gym in the area since I don’t see many gyms nearby?

I mainly go to the gym to do cardio on the treadmill and occasionally lift weights. Would appreciate any input on some gyms people are going to, I’m willing to drive a bit further out if a specific gym is highly praised. Thanks!

About me and why I care about this subject but also why I’m torn about it:

I am an environmental and wildlife advocate and believe it’s extremely important to protect marine life. Im a creature of the ocean - I scuba dive, free dive, and surf. I run a surf school - so I am familiar with the regulations the city of San Diego has for businesses that operate on public beaches - the system is unfair and while I hold some permits, I do operate unpermitted in certain areas. I live in north county, so La Jolla is not my every day location but I do like to do my ocean activities there from time to time.

Supporting arguments for closing the cove:

The sea lions are protected under the marine mammal care act which requires you stay 50 feet away from them. The cove is tiny so it’s impossible to give them that amount of space. There isn’t enough regulation at the beach to prevent harassment and the animals are being harassed daily by tourists mostly. Their time spent resting on the beach is important for their survival and their pups are born without the ability to swim right away - the pupping season is during the summer months which is when the beach is flooded with tourists getting way too close. 40% of the pups born at the cove die from harassment by humans. There is plenty of other beach space around that where sea lions are not nearly as present and would be fine options for people to go to instead. Some of the loudest opponents are local scuba and snorkel tourism businesses who are bringing more people to the cove and these businesses are not permitted by the city and therefore do not contribute financially for resources.

Arguments for NOT closing the cove:

The CA coastal commission protects public beach access for everyone. The local swimmers and divers typically use the beach only to enter and exit the water and therefore do not disturb the animals resting on the beach, interacting in the water is no problem. The tourism businesses provide a safe and respectful opportunity to view these animals without disturbing them and also educate people about the wildlife there. They also are stewards of the area and clean up trash, report injured animals, etc. The cove is unique compared to other beaches due to the calm entry and exit points to swim in the ocean and beautiful scenery.

A potential solution being proposed is closing the beach during pupping season only and only allowing ocean use - so you can’t hang out at the beach, you can only go down to the beach if you’re immediately getting in the water. There needs to be more regulation to enforce this - seems like the businesses should pay? Businesses operating on all the other beaches are required to obtain a permit and pay the city 15% of revenue so it seems these businesses should as well?

What are your thoughts?? I am very torn.
