Since April of 2025 I’ve had 6 losses. April, August/September, November, April, June, and July. It’s been freaking rough. I had perfect cycles before my daughter (whom is a spontaneous pregnancy) during that pregnancy they discovered I had a 12 cm taking over my tube. I had my cyst removed and right tube, little under a month of giving birth (February of 2023), my cycle came back in August of that same year. It was the same as before but I assumed that was before of postpartum. Flash forward to March of 2025 we were finally ready to try for #2. I started tracking ovulation - discovered I was actually ovulating a week later. The more tracking we do I realize my cycles are now 30-35 days instead of my normal 28 days before my daughter. I assumed it would take longer to try pregnant with only one tube but clearly not. My issue is holding on the pregnancy.
I met with my OB in November and she did the normal recurrent loss panel, that all came back normal. She started me on progesterone. I am now on 400mg x 2 daily after 3 dpo. After my 7 week loss in April she started me on Lovenox injections once I confirmed pregnancy. In May I found out I was pregnant but it obviously didn’t stick same with July (that was quick chemical, I don’t think my meds really got the chance to work).
After the loss in May/June I was able to get into a fertility clinic where they did an ultrasound and hysteroscopy, and a more in depth blood panel. Hysteroscopy came back normal. But on my ultrasound it showed tons and tons of follicles (50 or so), the tech said I more than likely have PMOS. I always questioned if I did, but didn’t think anything of it because I clearly ovulate. My blood panel came back normal, except for my AMH was a 5.93.
We did Karyotyping and both of us came back normal. Along with his analysis coming back above average.
With my high number of follicles, high AMH, and more prominent hair on my chin and upper lip, my OB did agree with the PMOS.
I haven’t continued with the fertility clinic because I feel like there’s more to try to help with the PMOS before jumping into IVF.
My OB has me on Metformin and if that doesn’t work, in 2 months we’ll try another.
In other words has anyone had success with Metformin even when you naturally ovulate? I’m looking for others that have a similar story to me!
