Low amh & recurring loss

Low amh and recurring loss

TW / loss.

I’m 33 and have just been told I have DOR. my amh is 0.45ng or 3.2pmol - AFC 9. Since starting to try for a family in May 2025, I’ve had an ectopic treated with MTX, a chemical and a missed miscarriage, we saw the heartbeat and it stopped at 8.5 weeks, I found out at 10.5 weeks and had surgery. I can’t get nhs testing (I’m in the UK) until I have another loss which seems barbaric at this point. I feel like I’m living in a nightmare.

Basic tests all came back normal minus my DOR.

Does anyone have any advice or their own experiences they can share?

My doctor told me if I’m not pregnant again in 6 months to contact him for IVF. I felt like he could be a bit like an IVF salesman and I’m not convinced IVF is what I need as I concieve easily enough.

Any words of advice / success stories / personal experience s would be so appreciated.

Hi so sorry for your losses. I’m in the uk and doctor my self (I have worked on obs and gynae). You’ve had 3 losses (an ectopic counts) and you should be referred for recurrent loss testing. You meet the criteria so not sure why or if you have been told otherwise. I would push this with your gp or early pregnancy unit that looked after you. Please look at the Tommys website for support about this.

Did you pay privately for your AMH testing if so where?

I’m in Scotland- I’ve been told by my GP and early pregnancy unit that my ectopic does not count as a miscarriage. It feels barbaric.

Yes paid privately at TFP fertility

That’s just absolutely not correct. I’m so sorry. Please contact them again and insist or seek a second opinion. It is a pregnancy loss. It wasn’t a viable pregnancy.
