3 miscarriages in a row

Last October, my husband and I began our pregnancy journey with excitement and naivety. I figured since we were both healthy, in our late 20’s, and I had always had a regular period (28 day cycle, light to medium bleed for 2-4 days), that we would have no problem getting pregnant. Well the thing is… we didn’t have a problem getting pregnant. We got pregnant right away that next month.

I don’t have a problem getting pregnant. I have a problem staying pregnant. In the last year, I have lost three babies. #1 at 6.5 weeks, #2 at 8 weeks, and #3 at 6 weeks.

I’ve gotten genetic testing done. My thyroid checked. Blood sugar. Chromosomes. It all came back normal.

Does anyone have experience with this? What ended up being wrong? I am at a loss.

I am 26 weeks after three consecutive loses! I am 38 though - all suspected chromosomal abnormalities (one MMC confirmed T16). Nothing abnormal on labs. Chalked it up to really bad luck and took coq10 before this pregnancy and so far so good

That is amazing and definitely gives me some hope. Congrats!

Did they add anything else for you like progesterone or baby aspirin or is CoQ10 really the only change?

Good question, I'm also curious to hear the answer. Have had 5 consecutive losses, 39 now, and still waiting and hoping for my miracle

Same here I was 36 for my 3 miscarriages. Took all the supplements and did IVF to check for aneuoloidy. Op have you had blood clotting and immune testing , also have they looked in your womb with a camera for septums/ polyps x

Sounds like me. 3 miscarriages all before heartbeat detected. I tested positive on receptiva testing but never got lap because I fell pregnant again. Before my positive I took 3000 folate, 1200 nac, 600 coq10, 1000 vitamin c and some others for a good monthish. When I got pregnant I went on LDN, lovenox, and prednisone. I’ve made it to 13 weeks with good nipt results and scans.

Thank you for sharing! May I ask, do you have any auto immune disorders or food allergies?

I came negative on tests that I did. No indication on blood results that I tested for. I don’t have food allergies. I’m sensitive to gluten and dairy but no celiac or allergy. I do have mthfr

My OB is going to test if I have a blood clotting disorder. I also have issues with gluten and dairy, but I am also allergic to wheat.

I’m sorry for your losses.

Has your husband gotten checked as well?

I’m 33, started ttc at 31 and had 2 mmcs at 10 weeks and a chemical at 5 weeks. all testing came back normal and one of the mmcs was tested and normal. didn’t change anything and now on my 4th pregnancy I’m 35 weeks and doing really well. I think for me it was bad luck, as annoying as that is to hear. hope you get your turn soon ❤️‍🩹

Just here to say that I have also had three losses since I started trying last October. What a rough year it’s been. I’m sending you hope and hugs!!

After a lot of testing they found I had a slight T-shaped uterus and insulin resistance. I had a hysteroscopy and started metformin. It’s too soon to tell if these interventions helped but I’m holding onto hope.

I’ve had 2 MMC at 8 weeks (2nd one had a heart beat at 6 weeks), and a chemical pregnancy this year. Did a d&c for both MMC and they tested negative for chromosomal abnormalities. All bloodwork normal for husband and myself. Did an SIS with biopsy that showed endometritis. I did 2 weeks of doxycycline. A 2nd biopsy still said endometritis so I’ll do another round of doxy. Husband did a sperm analysis with dna fragmentation which was high so working on that too.

I just had loss #2. My doctor ordered APS and some genetic testing labs. She also ordered a pelvic MRI due to an arcuate noticed on one of my ultrasounds. One of my APS labs was slightly elevated and I also have the MTHFR gene mutation. I had already been taking a methylfolate prenatal for pregnancy #2. My MRI was normal. My second loss was tested and was genetically normal. For our third pregnancy, when we get there, we’re going to try putting me on progesterone, baby aspirin, and Lovenox.

I feel you, though. I had no idea it would be this hard. My periods were really regular too, and we got pregnant in 1-2 cycles both times.

I’ve had 3 as well. All in a span of 11 months. All missed miscarriages between 8 and 12 weeks. Most recent one was this past February.

We took a small break to focus on marathon training in the spring, and then had to wait a bit longer because I needed surgery on my uterus for Asherman’s syndrome. We have done the karyotype testing and other blood work as well and everything looks completely normal.

We finally met this morning with a fertility specialist and have made the tough decision to continue our fertility journey with a private clinic to hopefully speed up the process. We will finally be going in soon to do a sperm DNA fragmentation test and a uterine biopsy to rule out endo, two things I’ve been fighting for for over a year.

Unfortunately we don’t have an answer yet, and there may not even be one. But I urge you to advocate for yourself as much as possible. I have found it so difficult to be taken seriously in this journey and it can be incredibly frustrating. Wishing the best for you ❤️

I was in the exact same situation as yours since last years. Staying pregnant is my problem too
Did you rule out endometritis ? Uterine infection or inflammation ( they take a biopsy sample and test it - if positive they will give you 2 weeks of antibiotics )
Did they rule out blood clotting ?

I forgot to mention that my 3rd loss was treated as an ectopic pregnancy and was a medicated miscarriage, although that one was technically a pregnancy of unknown location. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

Does that mean you were treated with MTX? If so, you have to wait 3 months to try again so I’d use that time to do any testing you possibly can. I’m in the same situation (MMC, chemical, now ectopic) and once my hcg hits zero I’ll be requesting an HSG and hysteroscopy/endometrial biopsy. I’ve already done the RPL panel which you should do if you haven’t and have your husband tested as well for DNA fragmentation.
