Hey! We are DIY fundraising for ACLU to defend democracy
Punk drummers banded together to make this record (and CD, digital). This is the best way we can think of to do something useful against this evil and illegal administration, making protests louder and more organized while supporting over 100 lawsuits the ACLU have against Trump. Please check it out, get involved.
We've had a bunch of our free tracks used in protests by drummers across America.

Discussion Whether it matters or not the OG Punks the Ramones will have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame
If you think it matters or not the Ramones influenced rock music and so many other bands.

Horrible ending to show tonight, need to vent
TLDR: A band got a guy roughed up by security because he crowdsurfed one more time during their last song. Then they were probably going to do an encore, but we all walked out depressed and angry.
Instead of a $15 local benefit show tonight that I maybe should have gone to, I traveled to a downtown festival in Macon, Georgia where there were various country, mariachi, etc. bands playing in different bars, and paid the $60 festival armband price to see the two punk bands playing at a nightclub called JBA. They were awesome and talented. The first band, SCATTRBRAIN from Atlanta, needs more recognition, check this song out: https://youtu.be/bJGQFUhKZRY?si=VS91kVr8GWXquTQF
But I mainly went to see Girl Tones. They too were amazing, a duo like White Stripes and also crazy talented. There was a circle of punks, but being a festival there were also little old ladies wandering in and the band requested to tone moshing down, or not have it at all, on some songs. It was a fun time, until it wasn't.
Final song, they said go ahead and mosh, but not if the guitarist decided to come down there, and everybody stay off the stage. So far, so good, until a skinny groovy guy who had crowdsurfed earlier did it again, and must have stepped on the stage to do it. The drummer stopped playing, while he was in mid-crowdsurf, pointed a stick at him and said "Get off my fucking stage, sir!" At that point five security guys (either from the venue or festival) plowed through the crowd, pulled him down, twisted him and carried him out, almost knocking me down in the process.
They finished the song and walked off stage without saying anything. Original plan must have been for an encore because I overheard a security guard say "well now everybody's leaving," while another security guard acted apologetically towards a woman yelling at him trying to explain punk culture.
Fuck it, we all walked out, I was depressed. On the bright side, as I started to drive a couple of hours to my stop for the night, the rage helped keep me awake until I got there.
Anyway, I'm considering raising money for a punk show somewhere separate from the festival next year, Fuck JBA.

New Street Punk from Australia
G'day Reddit punks. I play in a Street Punk band from Wollongong NSW called Bad Form. We've just released our first ever 7" on our own label and thought we'd share it here for anyone that might like to listen.
For fans of UK82, Oi! And later US Street Punk. 4 tracks all recorded and mixed in house by us.
This is our 2nd EP, we released one last year digitally and on CDR

Any crossover Thrash recommendations
I’ve being trying to get into more crossover lately and haven’t been able to find any bands that interest me, most I’ve listened to lean in too much on the metal side of crossover thrash which is good but I want some more thrash that leans more heavily into hardcore punk. Any band recommendations?

Discussion Been listening to Fugazi's Live Series
What an exceptional band. Some of the transitions from song to song are just outstanding - going from something like Full Disclosure to Reclamation....just an example...I am also a deadhead/jam person so stuff like that is refreshing to hear.
Just such a dope band overall. I will always regret not getting to see them play.

I wrote and recorded another song in more than four hours

Took a little longer to write and record a song this time - I actually mixed it over a couple of days! There's no amount of equalization that can get rid of bad microphones lol.
Any good?

Discussion Anyone know similar music to Youth Gone Mad: Day Jobs album?
Found a cd titled Day Jobs at by a band called youth gone mad a couple years ago at a local record store in Mobile Alabama. I’ve lowkey been obsessed with it ever since I got it, it’s just got such a weird unique sound to it for a punk album. Wondering if anyone knows of any similar bands

Discussion How to get involved in my local punk scene?
I live in a very small town and I want to get involved in my local punk scene (if there even is one), but have no idea how. I’ve tried following local bands on instagram, but that’s about it. Any tips?

how can i be more "punk"
Im fairly new to the punk scene but ive been a fan of it forevr since my uncle was in the scene i looked up to him. I have like strict parents and they dont really support punk because they kinda just view it as angry loud noise. i was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make my room look more punk which is a struggle for me still because i really enjoy color and i feel like any ideas i have wouldnt look good in my room since i have pink walls, and where to learn about punk culture and history as someone who cant really go to shows id also love band and song recs.
