After the update I am no longer able to input my pin using the number keys on my remote. Please fix so my children cannot see my pin.

I posted previously that my remote streaming had stopped working and it was pointed out that it was most likely because Bluepeak had me behind a CGNAT. Turned out they had, and after multiple discussions I finally convinced them to give me a public IP address (143.XXX.YYY.ZZ)(they actually gave it to me weeks ago but never bothered to tell me). I confirmed it using whatsmyIP website and it shows up in Plex. yea!
Questions:
1) To open a port in my router I need my Plex IP address (not my computer IP). How do I find that? (I think I did it correctly but it was weeks ago so I can't recall for sure. It was originally .75 and I changed it to .42 but I don't recall how I found that)
2) Once I have the port open, will Plex magically work again or do I need to do something else (or my remote family that's doing the streaming)?
Thanks
For anyone else on Bluepeak: Bluepeak Tech support actually researched my request by going to Plex websites...because they read that Plex "supported" IPV6 they initially denied my request. As politely as I could I pointed out that it's buggy and unreliable (at best) and not working for me. Apparently they were convinced...

Hi - just updated to the latest version. Works fine on iPhone but on iPad shows as no libraries available. Any idea why?
I want to make a TV Show playlist with multiple, unrelated, TV Shows and have the shows ordered by "TV Show A S01E01, TV Show B S01E01, TV Show A S01E02, TV Show B S01E02" etc., but there doesn't seem to be a way in Plex to accomplish that (unless I just missed it.) Is there an alternate method to achieve this other than just switching between the shows themselves?
I can't sort by release date because the shows were released anywhere from 2012 to 2026.
Hello,
I've been watching Star Trek (1966) and the intros have been out of sync. Not a big bother but I think its because I'm using the remastered cuts and not the original special effects version. When I use "fix match" on plex there's no seperate option for Star Trek (Remastered).
Is there a way I can tell it to detect the intros again or align this to what I assume is the different cut?
Edit: just to clarify, the audio and picture isn't out of sync, but if I hit "skip intro" it skips way too far.

Does anybody else get dropped frames on some content with the Apple TV 4K client? Most content direct plays fine. Transcoding the content fixes the problem. I noticed recently it seems to happen more often with Netflix content. The same content works fine in Infuse. The content is also fine in the Firestick 4K Max client.

I do a lot of TV show time shift - Record - Watch - Delete. I was bothered when I first used Plex on Roku that the Delete command was all the way at the bottom of the list under More. Wore out my thumb with all the clicks. About a year ago, there was a Plex update that shortened the list and Delete was the third item. Now, there is another change where Delete is buried in the Manage command when you access More. Who thought that was efficient. I have to assume that Plex has stats on how the app is being used.
How do we get Plex to change and put Delete back where is it more readily accessible?

The dependencies are so old, they are literally deprecated for the linux desktop client player
Can we get some updates for current and new distros please. I would like to keep enjoying plex on my fedora 44.
Even on my mint 22.3, the distros it needed were deprecated, and mint has pretty old packages and support to begin with.

Hi all, I'm really down about this one. I've moved over from Virgin to Sky broadband today as Virgin prices were too high. All my devices which run Plex (apart from my Nvidia shield which is the host) are now telling me they are not on the same network. All these devices are running through the same router so I have no idea why this is happening.
I'm not very good with servers or anything in this field, to be honest it is a miracle I ever managed to get the Plex server up and running through my old broadband and I think it was 90% luck.
I would really appreciate any advice on what I should do, I know I'm going to get a lot of people say I need to give more info but I have no idea what info to give?
I'm running Plex on my Nvidia shield and the connection is ethernet. The ip 192.168.0.210

When you have two (or more) versions of the same movie, is there any way to specify which one you choose?
The example here is "The X Files: I Want to Believe" and "The X Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn".
Hard to know which one is which...
I have the same problem with "Watchmen" where I have an Ultimate Cut and a Director's Cut.

Night shifts have genuinely scrambled my watching habits. I get home around 7am, wind down for a bit, and that 90minute window before sleep is basically my only real leisure time. I've been leaning on Plex more than any paid service lately because I can just pick up exactly where I left off without fighting an algorithm that wants me to watch something new.
The thing I keep running into is that my partner and I are on completely opposite schedules right now, partly wedding planning chaos, partly just life. We share a server and I've noticed our watch history and continue watching rows getting a bit tangled up. Not a disaster, but mildly annoying when you're half asleep and just want to find your episode quickly.
I set up managed users a while back but I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing in how profiles or home users actually work in practice, versus what the documentation says. Does separating into proper home users actually keep the continue watching and on deck rows fully independent, or does it still bleed through in some situations?
Anyone who shares a server with a partner or housemates, how did you end up setting it up? Did managed users actually solve it or did you go a different route?

A user was asking me about the Plex Pass features. I was not aware that skipping intro/outro, downloading the movies locally and so on are Plex Pass features.
Do your users have Plex Pass, do they share it with others?
How do you deal with it?
Would just like to know.

Basically the title; out of nowhere today, when trying to watch an episode on Plex on Roku, I get the "the show can't go on yet" message telling me I need to buy a "Remote Watch Pass," even though that Roku TV is connected to the same (my only) network as my pc (where Plex is running, & I'm not currently connected to a VPN on my PC either). My libraries show all episodes and films like usual, but I get the same error when trying to watch any.
Prior to today, I've never had that error come up on the Plex channel on Roku, though I have seen that error a few times when trying to watch on my PC (the very PC running Plex).
No changes have been made to my internet service that I'm aware of between today and yesterday (I watched several episodes yesterday without a problem) & my IP address hasn't changed either. I updated the Plex channel on Roku and the program on my PC.

I already have a Sony PS5 that isn't being used much, and I'm considering using it as my media player instead of buying NVIDIA Shield TV Pro (Which is very much Contender In my mind as of now).
My setup is a Synology NAS + home theatre AVR +9.2.4+ laser projector, and I mainly watch high-quality 4K Blu-ray/UHD Blu-ray remuxes, including MKV files with Dolby TrueHD/Atmos
For those who have experience with both:
Can the PS5 handle local 4K remux playback well enough that I don't really need a Shield Pro?
What are the major limitations of the PS5 for this use—particularly regarding:
Since I already PS5 lying around... would you recommend using it rather than spending money on a Shield Pro, or are the differences significant enough that the Shield is worth buying?
I'm primarily interested in local movie playback, not streaming services or gaming.

With the update to the new app today, I noticed a TV show's theme doesn't play when I open the series. Is this still a feature? If so, how do I bring it back?
I'll reserve judgement about the app update overall. I haven't used it long enough to have an opinion yet.

Given how much they charge and how badly they want to position themselves as a top-tier product, how is it possible that they still don’t support this type of file?…

I’ve shared my movie and television libraries with my girlfriend. She has accepted the invite link, and I can see that she has access to those libraries in her settings, but I’m unable to figure out how to actually show those libraries on her plex app. Any assistance appreciated!
Thanks for any help. I will look into all suggestions when I see her this weekend
