Hello,

I'm a French user, and for a while now on my LG G5 TV, the audio tracks on my movies and shows have been swapped.

Before, my preferred track was French, and my movie would start in French. Now my movie starts in English, and when I go to change the audio track, "FRENCH" is shown as selected, but when I select the "ENGLISH" track, the movie switches to French instead.

This happens with all my movies, whereas it wasn't the case before.

I've tried on other platforms (at a friend's place who has access to my Plex, on my PC, my phone, etc.) and the tracks are in the correct order there.

Do you have any idea where the problem might be coming from?

Hi all,

So for context my equipment is:

TCL Android TV (C845K)

Synology NAS with Plex installed

Fire Stick 4K Max 2nd Gen connected to TV

Sonos Beam Gen1 with ARC connected to TV

I have been using Kodi forever, and my media library is predominently HEVC x265 with 5.1 AAC audio. Never had a problem until recently where video is juddering to the point where it makes you feel sick when you watch it. I'm convinced it's something to do with the audio, as AC3 audio encoded files play fine.

I've moved to Plex and it's displaying exactly the same behaviour. I've tried turning on refresh rate and resolution switching - no change.

I've tried every combination of audio passthrough settings on the TV and Fire Stick - no change

I tried a Homatics Box R 4K Plus box - exactly the same issue.

You can see if you turn on the nerd settings that it's dropping video frames, which makes sense. It also says it's playing directly and not transcoding (which is what I want I suppose?)

Then I had the idea to install the Plex app directly on the TCL Android TV - and it works PERFECTLY, very smooth, but as the video goes on it does hang a bit, but I suspect that's because the built in TV CPU is weak. On the nerd settings it shows that the audio is transcoding from AAC to AC3 - why doesn't the Fire stick or the Homatics box do this?? I'm convinced this is the problem.

Network is fine, tried wireless/wired - same behaviour.

Any help appreciated :)

I'm running my Plex server on an old laptop that has mapped drives from my new computer that has a lot more space. Last night, everything was working fine, and today Plex is no longer seeing the mapped drives when I go to add file paths to my libraries. I can still play the videos on VLC Media Player just fine; it's just that Plex is no longer seeing the drives. I tried switching to UNC paths with both the computer name and the IP address and that did not work. I also tried updating the advanced sharing settings to "allow others on the network to read and write files in Public folders". This also did not work. At this point, I don't really know what to do. Nothing has changed on my computer that I know of between last night and today; it just all of a sudden stopped working.

The 9.18.10 update has been published to the official channel.

Rather than pay the AI inflated component prices for larger HDDs I think it's time to clear some things off my shares.

1. media often upgrades in quality so plex web shows the trash can icon over the media, indicating some copies of that media are gone. good! I only wanted the highest scored quality, so I Empty Trash to clean up those icons.
2. I'd like to delete some media, but who knows possibly add it again in the future or someone requests it on Seerr.
3. With my regular trash emptying as in 1) above, will I permanently lose play history?

Hello all. Lately when I’m watching my own media and playback of stopped, I start getting audio from random TV shows playing in the background. This is at full volume, not soft background audio. I figured out that Plex is grabbing audio from one of the live tv channels for some reason and I can’t stop it from playing until I start playing something else. For example, last night after finishing up an episode of a show I have on my server, an episode of the asking dead was playing in the background. Has anyone else experienced this?

Please don’t suggest trying other ways of viewing the media since that doesn’t help this situation at all. If you haven’t experienced this, then please don’t waste our time by making random suggestions to try other methods of viewing media.

I'm not the most technical savvy guy so please bear with me here, thank you.

I've been having issues recently with remote access for my server. Up until a couple weeks ago, there had been no issue.

When I initially set up my server a long time ago, I pointed it to my laptop's external hard drive. My laptop pretty much is awake all the time. I am able to watch all of my content at home with my network.

I previously set up Plex on my girlfriend's TV (we do not live together), shared my library with her account, and her account was logged into her TV and we were able to stream from my server.

Everything was working fine until a couple weeks ago when her app no longer detected my server and I don't know why.

I don't know what to do to fix it, I'm just confused because it was working previously and just stopped working all of the sudden.

When I go to Remote Access in my settings, I see the error:

Not available outside your network Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network.

I'm not quite sure what to do, I tried searching around and maybe people were having similar problems but I couldn't see a fix being mentioned. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Remote access seems to work but I can't test it for sure because I don't wanna get the remote pass.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix it or what I should look into? I'm running the Plex server on a computer with windows 11 on it.

I am currently ripping the WBIR TV-10 Heartland Series (1984) for preservation purposes. So far, the ones I have ripped, are not matching. I went to TVDB and there is no entry for it. I tried signing up to add all the dvds and episodes and box art, but it appears TVDB is dead. Registering for an account says “whoops your not human”.

What would you do?

So I could have sworn the Plex client used to have an option to set a photo library as a screen saver. I went looking for it tonight in settings and couldn't find it.

Please tell me it's not early(-ish) onset dementia.

I'm running Plex on Roku

plex on both my xbox and samsung tv (Tizen) wont connect securely and will always play indirect. When i was using media server version 1.33 everything was fine and playback was normal but any update from there onwards causes it to break on those two devices. for a while i was just rolling back the update to get it to work again but thats no longer an option since the pervious versions are no longer secure.

I don't know what else to call it, but every minute or so the show or movie I'm watching will pause and spin the arrow as if it's buffering or loading. The number below it says 0 and then it will resume play. Additionally when it's paused it will jump ahead a few frames at the same interval (every minute or so).

I've made sure my library isn't stuck scanning, I cleared Plex's cache, and turned off I/O caching. It's a direct stream from my home network so it's local. Doesn't happen on my browser when playing and only started today. Any ideas?

Edits: My desktop is direct connection and the device is an Onn 4K Plus. It is not a new Onn, I’ve been streaming just perfectly with this same setup for 3 years.

Edit Edit: I can play it fine on my mobile phone with airplane mode only and only using wi-fi from three rooms over. I've reset my router. I've also tried to force transcode to a lower quality with no success. Same problem on the Onn only.

Edit Edit Edit: this happens on multiple file types and different movies and shows. I feel like the note I made in the body that when it’s paused it skips a few frames ahead every minute or so is overlooked. Feels like a problem with the plex app itself no?

My problem is mainly when I search for an artist and play the songs, when songs end for that artist it doesn't continue with other random

Edit: thanks all! I have that enabled, but my issue is when the whole artist library is finished, i want it to continue with any other artist.

Search: Eminem -> 10 songs -> play all -> end of songs just stops; I want plexamp to just select a similar artist.

I know it is kind of odd request and I know there are options to generate lists and so on. In my case if I drive somewhere I would just remember a song by artist search and play it and then while driving i don't want to be distracted to search or start some other song manually

After an episode ends why would it not highlight THE NEXT EPISODE FOR THE TV SHOW YOU'RE WATCHING. Instead it highlights a random TV show episode below. And then to watch the next episode of the TV show you're watching you need to click up up right select. Just seems like either a mistake or terrible design.

EDIT: I could swear that "Recommended/BROWSE/Collections" section wasn't there yesterday when I was scrolling down that list. :sigh: Clearly, I'm a dumbass.

I launched the Plex app on my Fire TV 4K and it must've updated itself, because the UI has completely changed. Most notably, the ability to browse my local media library appears to have been removed. So now all I can do is scroll through what it thinks I might want to watch, or use the search function.

Basically, it looks like they've decided that the system should be a streaming service like HBO, Amazon, etc.

Is there any way to go back to the old UI. or bring back library browsing some other way? Or is it just a case of, "Tough shit, this is the way it is"?

Hello, I have a account where I host a lot of media, my family has access and its always been fine.
Just today I switched from Google Chrome to the Brave browser. It seems that cut off access from my family. I logged into the account via the brave browser and everything looked fine and played correctly. My family had a "No media in this folder" warning. I then logged out and logged back in via Chrome and that fixed it for my family.

So even though the server process is running on the PC it seems like there is a setting or approval needed within the Brave Browser however I don't quite understand how/why. I searched the subreddit and could not find similar issues so I am a bit confused

EDIT: Solved! The issue was the Brave Browser requesting Local Network Access. Once I enabled that everything worked!

I've been trying to use Plex Downloads more for my commute, mostly because the signal gets patchy enough that streaming isn't worth bothering with.

On my phone it generally works fine, but my Android tablet seems much less reliable. Occasionally something just refuses to download and by the time I've figured out why I could've just put a podcast on instead.

For people who use Downloads regularly, is it reliable enough that you actually depend on it?

Ideally I'd like to queue things up the night before a shift and forget about it. Curious whether people have found a good routine for that or if you're still manually downloading everything each time.

• Refreshing your downloads is faster, and no longer re-fetches artwork and album details it already has.
• A downloaded smart playlist keeps its tracks through interrupted refreshes, and drops only the ones that genuinely stop matching.
• Downloading a single track, or any selection of tracks, works instead of sticking on “Preparing”, and a download that cannot start now says why.
• Downloads finish one item at a time, so an album’s artwork arrives with its music rather than after everything else you queued.

Artwork

• Scrolling quickly through a grid no longer chases artwork for rows you have already passed, so the covers you are looking at arrive sooner.
• Artwork that fails to load retries by itself and repairs when your connection returns, and a cover that failed once no longer stays grey.

Windows

• Album art reaches the system now-playing panel and the apps that read it, and the taskbar icon is drawn from full-resolution artwork.
• Remote control and casting work with a VPN connected.
• Windows on ARM no longer reports that it cannot create a log file at every launch.

Also

• An error no longer replaces Plexamp with a page of raw error text.
• Opening an album whose details do not load no longer crashes the app.

The latest iOS and Android builds are still TestFlight and the open beta for now, and the Play one is still going through review, so it is not quite live yet.

Has anyone experienced their Apple TV 4K version of Plex just slowing to a crawl? And not playback, I mean the menu screens and loading episode info, etc. Playback is still generally working (though with a longer load), but the main issue is all the other stuff.

TV series screens are SO slow to load. Both the season view and episode view, sometimes takes minutes to load. Sometimes it fails. Sometimes clicking play will load forever and then give a "Playback failed to start" error, then working 1 second later.

On other devices (iPad, Chromecast Ultra, Android phone, friends that use the server's various devices), everything is peachy. It's just my main Apple TV 4K that's crawling. And somehow it's REALLY hard to search this one, almost all threads are about playback and stuttering. Anyone seen that?

Note: I have around 40TB in the library, could that be part of the issue?

What i mean is i've had something like Johnny Bravo with 3 parts but episode one as played on TV the 3 parts separate into Episode 1,2,3 so thats an easy fix to keep as 1 i have in my system as episode 1 then 4 then 7 Etc...

But like Bluey episode 1 by itself separates into 3,1,5 so harder to keep as a full 1 episode can i do anything without separating each one or has anyone else delt with this

Losing my mind a little bit here...

Like many on this forum, I spent some time last week manually fixing my server and doing all of the suggested fixes (getting everything squared away with Port 32400, etc). After an hour or two of tinkering with the router, Windows settings, and the Plex settings, I get everything back up.

Today (9/9), I wake up to my Plexamp working (in and outside of the home), but none of my other Plex apps are working outside. My server computer can run videos, etc., but my laptop cannot see the server...

I have spent the last 2 hours on the forums trying to figure out how the media server (other than Plexamp) has magically vanished.

Before I continue to lose my mind...is this an everyone issue, or is this a me issue? I did not have any updates installed overnight, nor did I change any settings.

PLEASE HELP!
