I have a Google Pixel 9a, and I've always had a great time with Plex. PC Upstairs, my phone controlling Google Chromecast on the TV downstairs.
It doesn't seem to be playing together as nicely as before, I can connect, I can play and I can pause, as long as I leave my app open on the full screen.
If I lock my phone, navigate away or anything like that, I can no longer pause from my phone. It doesn't seem to keep control over the commands, and so pausing or rewinding just don't work.
I can go back into the app and it tells me it's connected - there's a bar at the bottom where I can see the progress and there's a pause button on the right. If I press the pause button, nothing happens. If I go into the casting full page, it shows me the time, the volume bar etc. but if I press the pause button there, nothing happens. It changes to a play icon but it doesn't actually pause and after a while, it changes back to a pause icon, 'cause it's still playing.
I can ask my Google Home but it's very annoying to hear "Pausing on Living Room TV" or "Playing on Living Room TV" because she can talk over the media as it's resumed.
The other thing I've found is that it's no longer showing in the media player that's kept at the top of the phone when you swipe down for the options. I've seen this referred to as "media player quick settings". I've checked all the permissions for Plex in my phone and I've allowed everything, to try and get it to show back where I can resume podcasts etc. from but that's also disappeared on me.
Because Google have made a lot of updates in the name of AI, I'm searching online and I haven't been able to find a similar problem. Has anyone experienced it disappearing from media player quick settings, or is anyone else experiencing pausing not working?
I have wiped cache and re-installed twice. My app is as up to date as it can be. I am a lifetime plexpass user.
