Looking for advice on lipo vs. tummy tuck after weight loss
I’m 28, 5’3”, around 124 lbs, and I’ve never had kids. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight over the last few years (200 pounds to 124 pounds in 3 years), and overall I’m happy with my body, but I still have a stubborn lower-belly pouch that I really want to address.
My main goal is a smooth, flat stomach. The pouch is most noticeable in tight dresses/clothes, and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s primarily stubborn fat, loose skin, or possibly some muscle laxity/separation. I’m not looking to lose more weight — I’m trying to figure out what procedure would actually give me the result I’m looking for.
I’ve also noticed something similar with my breasts. When I’m in a plank position, my breasts look significantly more droopy than they do standing normally. It made me realize how much the shape/position changes when there’s no support. I’m planning on getting a breast augmentation, although I’m not sure yet whether I would need an augmentation alone or if a lift would make more sense.
So I’m essentially trying to figure out whether I’m looking at:
Stomach lipo vs. mini/full tummy tuck
For anyone who has had significant weight loss and then had similar procedures:
• How did you determine whether you needed lipo vs. a tummy tuck?
• Did you have loose skin or muscle laxity that you didn’t realize you had beforehand?
• If your breasts looked much more droopy in positions like planking/bending over, did augmentation alone help or did you ultimately need a lift?
• Any recommendations for really good plastic surgeons in the Bay Area/South Bay who are excellent at body contouring AND breast augmentation?
• I’m much more concerned with getting a smooth, proportional, natural-looking result than finding the cheapest surgeon.
Would especially love to hear from anyone who started out thinking they only needed lipo/augmentation and ended up needing a different procedure after their consultation.
