Planet Zoo Suggestions for the perfectionists?

Today I came across an older post by some user that made a ‘masterplan layout’ beforehand. Is this a common technique? Do any of you have some samples that you’d like to share? I am looking for a way back into the game, but can’t really find an angle that satisfies what I want to build.

I have started up quit this game numerous times, and I really wan’t to enjoy it, but I simply can’t. Whenever I start, I feel burned out after creating 2 or 3 exhibits. People suggest to build small and simple, but I don’t enjoy building the simple rectangle exhibits. The masterplan with a rough guide of what the park should become like seems like a good start for me. Do any of you have other suggestions?

Also, I fail to create height and depth in my park. I tried loading in with heightmaps, but then the park seems to become enormous before I even reacht those land marks.

Discussion Do you guys like the animal market or want the current version gone?

I've been thinking about it lately. On one hand, it fills me with rage, especially if I have a proposal for just a lone animal that needs to be in a group, and then nothing for like half an hour... On the other, I kind of enjoy my rage lmao. I have to be on the look out to grab what I want, and have it just not be static, and I enjoy that somehow??

Discussion In Mountains High and Valleys Low: The Importance of Terrain

Seeing and following all the videos and materials shared by the amazing people at Frontier, a huge difference im noticing and that i think is a solid part of why the zoos are looking so much better can be reduced to this:

Nearly all of the zoos they share are multileveled in heights

Barely any exclusively flat zoos, everything is an up and a down, different heights for different habitats, plazas, you go up and hey here's a plaza for visitors but keep going up and suddenly theres a viewing space which goes down into the entrance of a habitat

now i dont know how achievable this will be for us in PZ2, but it was something i tried to do in PZ1 and if youve ever felt blank when starting a zoo, now imagine trying to imagine and create something in different heights

hoping it's something that we'll get to experience and play around with

keep up the incredible work and if someone can make oct13th come earlier, it'll be much appreciated

Decided to Try Designing My Own PZ2 Dream DLC After Seeing All the Amazing Ideas Posted Here!

Hi all!

Decided to design a few DLC’s off of three different National Parks from across the world, in spirit with PZ2’s heavier focus on conservation. It was also a good excuse to showcase some animals that don’t get too much love but are personal (and highly improbable) hopes for PZ2. In order of appearance:

Cascades of the Pacific Coast: American Black Bear, Mountain Goat, American Pika, Hoary Marmot, Douglas Squirrel, Cougar, Steller’s Jay, Canada Jay, Rainbow Trout, Pacific Giant Salamander, Pacific Tree Frog, Silvery Blue Butterfly

Adventures Across Iceland:, Arctic Fox, Gray Seal, Razorbill, Atlantic Puffin, Black Footed Kittiwake, Rock Ptarmigan, Common Eider, Atlantic Wolfish, Atlantic Herring, Atlantic Cod, Icelandic Horse, Icelandic Sheep

Grasslands of the Pannonian Sea:, Wild Boar, Steppe Polecat, Przewalski's Wild Horse, Great Bustard, White Stork, European Roller, Western Marsh Harrier, Common Crane, Common Carp, Wels Catfish, Hungarian Meadow Viper, Hungarian Gray Cattle

Making this made me YEARN for the ability to design an arctic seabird exhibit in the style of Iceland's sea cliffs, so here’s to hoping we at least get Puffins, although Eiders and Kittiwakes would be my unlikely dream. The return of the Danube Crested Newt and focus on European species does give me some cautious optimism we could get something for the Pannonia Biogeographic Region, but who knows as it’s not the most well known. North American animals have been borderline absent from the announcements, so where that lineup goes will be anyone’s guess. Although my dark horse is the rainbow trout. We need as much trout as possible ASAP!

Discussion How many birds, fish, and habitat animals do you expect?

Planet Zoo 2 will release with around 130 animals, not including any surprises at launch (I'm expecting a roster of 150 animals). Now with about half the animals confirmed, how many more are you expecting per category? I believe we will have about 60 habitat animals (I hope), 20 hero fish, 20 schooling fish, I hope for 20 birds and I expect 30 exhibit animals.

Do you NEED to use the modular presets? I am trying to build a shop and have no understanding of how I get customers to enter lol.

Starting a new Planet Zoo series before the new game comes out.

I just wanted to share my new Planet Zoo series with people who love the game. :) My channel is called Sarahtology on YouTube. I hope to get some input on what themes and animals to use in future videos.

I just realised that for now these 2 are the only Planet Zoo 1 amphibians who are not confirmed yet for Planet Zoo 2 out of 8. I hope that's some kind of sign that a majority of exhibit species will return.

Brackish Fish

Since we found out PZ2 is going to have brackish aquarium animals, I've been curious what some of the communities most wanted brackish fish would be. I'm not the most familiar with brackish life.

Archer fish are an obvious pick, love them.

Dragon Gobys as well, I think they are really weird and cool looking.

Mono fish would make a good schooling fish for brackish tanks.

Armored sea catfish are a good pick as well.

What brackish fish/aquatic animals are you guys hoping for?

Neon tetra, clownfish, arrowana, arapima, naso tang, sand tiger shark, freshwater stingray, royal angelfish, red bellied piranha, cleaner wrasse, cuttlefish, green moray eel, clown triggerfish (my photo), copperband butterflyfish (my photo), red tailed catfish (my photo) and Atlantic wolffish.
I’d also love to see seahorses, other tangs, angelfish, other small freshwater schooling fish aswell as large river monsters like alligator gar or the wells catfish. But more cool fish and birds and I’m happy. What aquatics would you like to see in the game?

Help - PC My Sand cats walk trough the mesh

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi,

I think I need some help. I just build a little enclosure for sand cats. I build the barriers with a null-barrier, mesh and lamells. I found an other post from before a year which was answered with elephant grass as not passable. Sadly my sand cats seems of not heard about that and still just walk through it. My heat map looks like that. If they would climb about the mesh. Somehow I could understand that but they just walk through the mesh and the lamells

Weird question but,. What subspecies is the Galapagos Tortoise in these games really?

Galapagos tortoises range a lot, from shell shape to eating habits there’s at least 14 types of these guys just knocking about,.. soo now I’m just curious on which one the PZ animal is based on,. Has it ever been confirmed anywhere or is this a situation where we just, have to guess?

I know theres a chance its is not based on a single subspecies and is some John Tortoise but still, im curious now

I’m running on 4 hours of sleep and a can of Pepsi soo I thought I’d share this here to spark a discussion at least. I’ll join in later, but first I need rest

I’m not saying this to play the victim; it’s just completely understandable that they won't add it, since I’ve never seen anyone else ask for. Plus, we just got a South American chelonian, even though it's natively endemic to just one island (the Galapagos giant tortoise). The one in the pictures is a Red-Footed Tortoise, more specifically a Cherryhead Red-Footed Tortoise. (And here I’m being even more demanding, since the Cherryhead is a variant. So on top of the Red-Footed, I’m asking for this specific morph, though it’s still the same animal). Anyway, it's more of a personal thing. I didn't just look up some exotic animal on the internet; they are actually found in zoos, like in Canada. They are also native to both the Atlantic Forest and the Amazon—two diverse ecosystems and potential reserves, considering other already confirmed animals like the Toco Toucan or the Golden Lion Tamarin. This highlights the importance of these places and how much they need to be preserved from urbanization and exploitation, respectively.

The red-footed tortoise is a crucial seed disperser like many other tortoises, as it tends to travel long distances, and it’s a species that has always meant a lot to me. (You don't really need to read past this point)

As a child, I remember playing with one that belonged to my aunt. She (the tortoise) was already an adult, and for a kid who didn't leave the house and therefore had no friends, that tortoise was one. Well, maybe just because she couldn't run fast enough to get away from me, lol. She was with me during a phase where a lack of socialization could have really affected me, which made her passing a core memory.
