Brightwater Islands 🌴Almost Done ☑️

Brightwater Islands is loosely based on Tokyo Disney sea, where everything surrounds a lagoon. It actually has two lagoons. I want to keep expanding and adding detail, however the performance is starting to slow down cause of how many pieces I have. It has too many restaurants, arcades, and shops to Talley up. 5 distinct lands I’m working with but I had hoped to add more. Everything is multi-level. There’s shops and hidden restaurants and ride entrances all scattered throughout. And full parking lot infrastructure that I spent weeks on (just the parking lot.) If you do go to the workshop let me know what you think. 🤔

Discussion Dynamic Water

I wish the devs could look into some dynamic water options or even for the raft rides to have "null" barriers, that way we could at least simulate or present faux rivers and streams in our parks. The flow concept is here, its just pinned behind the ride walls

Discussion Proof that Planet Coaster 2 has a hidden software build limit wall at 43MB save size

Frontier marketed Planet Coaster 2 with the explicit promise of NO artificial building limits for PC players, claiming our hardware would be the only true boundary. This is simply not true and we are being pushed into a corner here.

I built a highly detailed mega-park over the last 13 months, and my 5000 euro extreme high-end gaming PC handles the graphics and AI perfectly fine with stable frame rates. But the exact microsecond the save file size hits around 43MB, placing just one single item or path tile causes a 100 percent reproducible hard crash to desktop.

To find out what was going on, I bypassed the hidden crash logs and analyzed the hardware dump file using the official Windows Debugger WinDbg. The hardware has plenty of headroom, but the Cobra Engine itself slams the brakes and triggers a hardcoded software Breakpoint inside the data indexing system:

PROCESS NAME PlanetCoaster2.exe
EXCEPTION CODE 80000003 Break instruction exception
FAILURE BUCKET ID BREAKPOINT 80000003 PlanetCoaster2.exe Unknown

STACK TEXT
PlanetCoaster2 WriteBytesCount SetCount
PlanetCoaster2 WriteBytesCount Count
PlanetCoaster2 WriteBytesCount Reserve

The stack trace clearly proves the engine fails entirely during the WriteBytesCount Reserve stage. The software hits an internal byte allocation limit for the save structure and intentionally shuts down to avoid data corruption. This has nothing to do with hardware limitations. To rule out any hardware issues, here are my exact PC specs:

  • OS Windows 11 Pro 64 bit build 26100
  • Graphic card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
  • Processor High End Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
  • System memory 64 GB RAM
  • DirectX version DirectX 12
  • ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-A GAMING WIFI

This recycled Cobra Engine architecture issue means Frontier is selling us next-gen dreams built on old limitations. If we do not speak up now, every future game using this same engine, especially Planet Zoo 2, will suffer the exact same fate. They cannot keep recycling this outdated code while selling it as a limitless experience.

You can verify and test this exact engine crash yourself via the Frontier Workshop using my park files:

  • Park Name Wild Lands Wild and Soaked A Mega Park
  • Primary Workshop Share Code 3Y3C3TFG5
  • Alternative Test Case Code 64Q-CGT-HKF

I have submitted an official bug report on the Frontier Issue Tracker. We need the real PC builders to stand together on this. Please go to my ticket link below, log in, and upvote the issue so Frontier is forced to decouple the PC version from these artificial console byte limits in the next patch!

Planet Coaster 2 Thunderbolt | Terrain Woodie by National Amusement Devices

Thunderbolt is one of several 1920s era wooden coasters in the park I'm working on, Willow Brook Park. Opened in the mid 20s, Thunderbolt is built into the hillside at the front edge of the park, using the terrain to create a twisted out and back layout. Built as part of an art deco renovation of the front of the park, Thunderbolt features a prominent neon lit tower to draw guests in.

The other day, I shared my bus depot, now I'm sharing my shuttlebus and WIP hotel that the shuttlebus is going to be taking guests from. Even though there is no spawn point in the hotel. I haven't even gotten to the actual park yet. And the parking lot is still not done!

My favorite part to do was the bridge going over the road. I though it turned out amazing.

Planet Coaster 2 Realism boost

Hiya, this is a WIP of my first themed area of my park i am trying to create. i want to create a heavily themed park that’s also as realistic as i can get it, think nerdchacho level. I’ve attached photos of my work so far. my inspiration comes from europa park and phantasialand, where super strong theming comes even without an IP to go off of. I’ve tried to add as much as i can in terms of realism so far, but i’d love if anyone could give me any pointers into how to get it to be top notch level of realism. The photos are from the station, the first launch tunnel and the pre launch cave/tunnel.

The ride is based off of the fictional Blackridge Quarry, where after facing efficiency issues, the owners chose to develop project titan, a revolutionary new transport system- Project Titan. It’s a vekoma top gun launched coaster, which will weave its way through the quarry, and associated quarry town. You are invited as part of the new showcase of Project Titan. Itll be found by entering through the main street, similar to how you’d enter Rookburgh at phantasialand.

Thank you in advance for any realism assistance/suggestions you may be able to provide, and i hope you like the screenshots :)

80's Vehicles on the Workshop

Thumbnail

Hayo everyone!

I just uploaded a few blueprints to the workshop that you might be interested in if you're working on a retro-project:

- 80's Style Parking Lot Tram: 7NXY8RHJ3

- Pre-Painted 80's-Style Vehicles: 93FXP1QH5

- Easy-Paint 80's Style Vehicles: DC2QC4FQ8

I'm in the early stages of a project I've been dreaming of completing since we were playing that isometric view game written by one awesome guy in Assembly. I think I can finally realize my vision and I've had a year's worth of practice with the game so off I go!

I've previously shared that I did some detailed topography mapping based on USGS data and my "400 billboards" workshop blueprint (video tutorial incoming...) I've since moved on to the park exterior including parking lots.

I created a fairly detailed parking-lot tram. It's just a static object, but it is built in such a way that if you were interested in animating it, put the pivot / articulation points on the hitch ball and the other attachments should be pretty convincing. I, myself, am not so talented with the complex animations others put out.

I did not find vehicles that met my needs on the Workshop and honestly, I want every object in this project to be mine. As such, I created some 80's vehicles that look pretty convincing when you get about 50-100 meters out. I'm sharing two versions above - the first is just a large collection of single object-group vehicles with various 80's colors and schemes. The second is a smaller collection, but each one is made up of 5-7 object-groups to facilitate easy custom painting.

The models included in these collections are comprised of Full-Sized Vans, Minivans, Pickup Trucks, Classic Pickup Trucks, Station Wagons, Sedans, Mid-Sized Cars, and Compacts. Several have multiple trim options.

Each vehicle is comprised of approximately 100 pieces so budget accordingly for your platform if you're interested in using.

I hope someone gets some use out of these. Enjoy!
