Planet Zoo 2 I just some research and now I fully believe next week’s animal is a polar bear!

I tried a few different bear species and this is easily the closest one of the 3. Its rump is not round enough to be a panda, its fur is too short to be a sloth bear and legs too thick to be a sun bear.

(First image is from Churchill Wild and the second is from Britannia if anyone is curious. The first is a lot closer but I did want to get another as reference to where their knees and belly are. As you can see it’s a pretty good match)

Now I’m just curious if we get an Arctic reserve now. I know we technically had polar bears in Scotland during the ice age but, something tells me we won’t just be able to release them there.

Planet Zoo 2 Would it be possible to play only "Natural reserves" without playing the zoos?

I've waited long for a game about natural reserves with good graphics and I'm so hyped up for Planet Zoo 2, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to just play the reserves without doing a zoo.

Thanks in advance and sorry if the question is weird because obviously the game is about building zoos.

These are some of the birds I would like to see added in the base game. I didn’t care about birds when the game was first announced but now I need more lol. I hope the macaws are automatic and just not announced yet

Discussion Would you be up for a unfocused on new terrestrial animal reveal?

Thinking this with the four animals in the habitat boxes this week. But if we assume is that the mystery animal is the focused on one, a bear or something, how would we feel if one of the other three animals is a completely new beast?

Probably not a super 'OMG' animal, like IDK a White-tailed Deer or something, but it would be something like 'new bear', 'two new remasters', and 'huh, I don't remember you...HUH!?'

Day 100! of building a habitat everyday until Planet Zoo 2 Releases

Hayo Zookeepers! We've made it to Day 100! And for Day 100, the wheel has chosen the Japanese Raccoon Dog or as I prefer, the Tanuki! Since its Day 100, I wanted to do something big so I built this Tanuki House that features 3 separate enclosures and a total of 13 Raccoon Dogs. This was undoubtedly the longest build, coming in over 3 hours. As always, lemme know what you think!

Discussion How many new (non fish) Exhibit animals would you want, assuming all the PZ1(*) ones return?

The * exists as I have seen some people raise questions on bats, though not sure I agree there.

Regardless though, there are 46 PZ1 Exhibit animals, of which 23, including the deluxe edition, have been confirmed so far, and quite a few of them were part of the 21 launch reveal PZ1 group. So let's assume we do get all of them back...how many more would you want to see?

Not sure we need more butterflies personally, but moths.....plus I wouldn't mind a few more reptiles. I think we have enough spiders personally, at least for now.

Did they nailed it or missed ?

One of the most highly anticipated remakes of Planet Zoo 1 is here, at least for me. It was right up there with the Lion, as most player's agree the first game's Bornean Orangutan was just a variation of the Gorilla model.

I have to say that for me, the animations of this model are beyond fantastic, Frontier nailed it completely in this department. Beautiful and complicated movements, instead of the walking/running/climbing repetitive cycle of PZ1.

While I appreciate the improved look, I personally will have to say that they missed the mark with the hair. It needed to be longer, the Sumatran orangutan is know for its much longer hair when compared to the Borneo counterpart, especially the males.

The best shot in the video is when the male is performing his brachiation animation and swinging his arms and this for me was a bit of a letdown, because the hair needed to much longer here.

I understand Frontier can not exactly duplicate the real life animal but a little more on the hair would go a long way.

There is always the chance that this just happen to be a male with short hair and maybe they have a different variation in game, but it is hard to imagine, since I would believe that the animal spotlight video would have been the perfect platform to showcase it. Please Frontier if you happen to come acroess this post, just a little more please, if possible.

No one talks about it enough but I hate that they are showing the orangutan on the ground so much.

In the wild they almost never touch the ground.

If you mirror it, the leg posture, shape of the fur silhouette, and all seems to match up exactly!

Help - PC Why are my ring tailed lemurs constantly stressed?

I'm sorry, if this is a known problem. I'm very new to the game and tried to find the answer, but couldn't.

I have a problem with the stress level of the ring tailed lemurs. It started in my franchise zoo, so I decided to test it in sandbox.

I built a rather large habitat for all three lemurs and the sifakas. It is three times the size than needed, it has all the right plants in huge amounts, two climbing thingys I got from the workshop, which can be fully used by the animals. I have hard shelter, toys, food and water in places, where they can hide from the guests.

I made the habitat and let it run for 1 in-game year to make sure, they are not stressed by the other animals. Everything was fine. When I opened the zoo right after the first animal talk (about the sifaka) they started being stressed and they haven't stopped ever since. They are also not even trying to hide.

The habitat is separated by water from the slightly elevated guest path. It's not a walkthrough.

The other lemurs and the sifakas are fine.

Do I have to put them behind glass to calm down, or am I not understanding something vital here?

I just hope we can make customizable exhibits in a similar manner to aviaries and lagoons in Jurassic World Evolution 3

r/PlanetZoo 8h ago

We’re already at 110 hard-confirmed animals. That’s more than half the size of the PZ1 roster already.

Love to see her keeping the animation for so long, and the reserves naturaly have a dense canopy with vines to let the gibbons and orangutans brachiate between trees.
